Gary is a class Cavey, We have two rabbits, Jack the older and bigger of the two is great friends with the dogs and always comes to the front of his hutch to say hello, and regularly gets his face washed by the young Bassett Hound. Unfortunately our Cavey, doesn't do tricks, she is a very quiet little thing although she sits and talks to the cats all night long if she and they get their way. Our youngest cat is a ratter but sits on top of Cavey's hutch and purrs at her whilst she squeaks back.

i cant wait until christmas because my mom said she is gonna get me 2 guinea pigs and she is getting them from a shelter too in new jersey so i really cant wait to get them! they are sooo adorable=)

Maybe if you are eating the poo or playing with it! You must be allergic, or your doctor is not properly informed. Guinea pigs are very popular pets and thousands of people keep them without getting sick. I clean my piggies cage all the time and have never been hospitalized afterwards.

I wasn't I was just stating some pretty obvious facts. You claimed that guinea pig poo was toxic when in fact it is not (unless of course you are allergic). Thousands of people have guinea pigs for pets, as they are a very popular kids pet, and yet there are no stories of thousands of kids going to the hospital over toxicity to guinea pig poo!

Iceburg lettuce is ok for them in small amounts, it's really good on hot days as it keeps them hydrated. The dark leafed lettuces are really good for piggies because they have lots of vitamins.

you shouldn't feed you GP iceburg lettuce. it can make them very sick. Thats what i read in a couple books.

you can feed iceberg lettuce to guinea pigs and it will do them no harm. However, iceberg lettuce has almost no nutritional value whatsoever, so there is no point to feed them this.

if thats celary he shouldnt be eating it. he looks like a healthy piggy but that could change in an instant if one of the strings in the celery gets tangled up in his bowels

It is not celary. However, it is fine to feed your piggie celary, it is a myth that the strings get tangled up in their intestines. You can easily remove the strings and feed the celary if you are worried about this.

KrAshley is right. Celary is very good to feed to your guineapigs. I feed it to mine almost every day, and all of them are still hapily living.
