How do you do a run on landing with those spikes as landing gear?

The landing gear legs would dig in and you will be thrown about 100 yds through the rotor blades and break your back/neck on landing.

I like water helicopters better, blades can be shorter. Also it's more of a "wafting" than a rotating blade.

That was an awesome approach for touch down. You make it look easy but it's very not (easy). I watched this video about 100+ times then spent two years working to get one and have over 20 hours so far flying it. Phil Jarmin is my hero! That landing is like a perfect auto to the ground, wow. Helicopters can "glide" if the engine fails by autorotating. A forward descent keeps air flowing through the rotor, spinning it like a pinwheel. The pilot then uses the momentum of the spinning rotor to flare (slow forward speed and rate of descent) and land. It takes practice and training but no more so than any other emergency procedure.

all I hear is people say this.....but I've yet to see it in action! if the blades are pulling air from above and throwing it down, that is resistance against the blades, if the engine quits, those blade wil come to a stop unless there is a way to reverse the pitch of the blades.

There IS a way to reverse the pitch. The collective (the stick in your left hand) moves up and down controlling the pitch of the main rotors and if you move it all the way down, it reverses the pitch allowing the helicopter to auto-rotate. It's actually quite safe and not too difficult to do.

Actually its a great price for what it is. And not needing your licence ontop of that? Although I believe you'll need at least 10 hours of flight instruction before flying it. Actually it doesnt drop like a rock, check out our website and look for the autorotations video's. Autorotations in a Mosquito is a non event compared to other helicopters.
