I have a question on how you tell, when reading music, how you're supposed to play stuff like C4, C1, and blah blah blah. Are you supposed to just pick one that you think sounds the best?
our music class teaches these but i dont listen..i just ignored it...now that i want to play piano, i regret not listening to my music teacher...but this video helped alot
hello sir, i ur teaching technique is wonderful.. i never thaught that i would be able to learn piano from internet.... but i am not able to find the lesson no # 5 and 14.. Can u plz help...
I had to wath this video again hehe I'm confused in how to count for 6/8. I mean a dotted quarter note is supposed to be held for 3 counts? and a dotted half note for 6? I would really appreciate it if you can help me in that.
i dont know if you've already made a video for it, but i'd really like to know how to play three eighth notes and two eighth notes at the same time. i dont get the rhythm for it. much appreciated if you can help me hah. [=
Hi Lypur, I think what you're doing is a God-send. I appreciate it! I've been teaching myself for 3 yrs now--not getting anywhere, but your lessons will help. my problem is that I don't know how to count and keep the beat. It seems that I can't count outloud or in my head, I can't tap my foot and I can't train on a metronome because those things make me either lose count or forget what I'm playing. Any suggestions on how to get your brain in gear to count? Thanks!
can u please teach us how to play some songs or solos like The Fray "how to save a life" "hundred" and "over my head" please thanks so much ur lessons are great
hey ^_^ thanks for the positive feedback! about your request! I actually don't focus on teaching solos to songs, because what i want to teach people is how to teach themselves, and give people the skills to know how to do exactly what they want.
That...and i'm lazy! and there's no way i could keep up with all the requests i get everyday! there's just no way!...I apologize for the inconvenience but! if you have any lesson ideas for future lessons, let me know ^_^ i bring in alot of peoples ideas for lessons
I am having problems in how to count the eighth notes, but now that you explain it so well, I'm going to open my book and continue practicing! Yeah... I'm teaching myself with a book...
This video has been really helpful! I'm looking forward to watch all your videos now :) Thank you so much!
Here are a few requests if you decide to teach us how to play a few songs. "heaven" DJ Sammy (originally sang by brian adams. "Because of you" kelly clarkson. maybe some classic piano solos? hope u decide to atleast do a "how to" video for "heaven" as the piano in it is beautiful
awesome tutorial, im gonna have to watch from your listen one! you should do another tutorial on the 4/4 signature so everyone can understand it more, since that is what majority of musicians use.
Sorry....i'm actually running out of ideas for what to teach!!! i had all my lessons all planned out...and now i'm just trying to sort of think of other things i could teach...there's only so much you can do without knowing who you're teaching. If you have some idea's or requests, be sure to let me know.
I can master what you've taugh so far... but when you stick some sheet music in front of me.. its always hard to just.. play it, i need to sit there and right the notes names on top of each beat to play sheetmusic. Should i just go back to basics? what have i missed?
i don't think you need to go back to the basics if you can look at the sheet music and figure it out. Pretty much every new person to piano reads music extreamly slowly for quite awhile. It's just like reading. At first you can only read slowly letter by letter, later on you can group the whole word together and read much faster.

I'd just keep going, I'll make a lesson on reading sheet music faster, and sight reading, even though, sight reading is one of my weaknesses!

I would love some practice tips techniques.

Just a suggestion... Maybe you could teach us how to harmonize with other instruments.
