You know what really pisses me off about nickelodeon today? Most of those crap shows like Catscratch, Mr. Meaty, Tak and the Power JuJu, etc. that replaced our original golden ones, aren't even on T.V. anymore. Right now we're practically in a generation within the current generation. It's bad enough that we don't have the older shows anymore, but apparently the current generation didn't like the newer ones very much either. It won't be long now before the current shows are gone too.

@grindcore2theextreme I agree with you, somewhat. Rocket Power and all that other K/C mediocrity is OVERRATED, and everyone seems to lump it with the classics for no reason. CatDog is not classic. However, I honestly didn't think HA! was that bad. It taught some moral life values and had likable characters. I agree that IZ is not the best, but I honestly don't think it's terrible. In my opinion, shows like ChalkShit and Catscratch are also overrated and shouldn't be considered "classic".

@EpicWINNER1000 All That wasn't bad in it's later seasons, SpongeBob is still good but it was BETTER during it's earlier seasons. I liked Chalkzone and hated the "Dil"-filled Rugrats episodes. All That was still good to but when they "Jumped The Shark" when they made Jamie Lynn part of the cast, Avatar in my opinion got BETTER as the seasons advanced
@MultiMasterflash I didn't necessarily think Avatar got worse. Season 1 was okay but a bit of a turn-off, but season 2 was MUCH better and definitely the best of the series IMO. Season 3, in my opinion, was rather bland and didn't even have that sense of fun and interesting plotting like the S1 fillers did. I thought the finale was quite good, but not as good as some fans say, many of which went absolutely rabid.
@MultiMasterflash By NEW Rugrats. I mean the DIll ones (aka bad ones). Also, I will give ChalkZone some credit: it had a very original concept and obviously meant well, but the concept was poorly-executed and most of the humor corny. Not to mention the animators were on such a shoddy budget that they had to cut corners almost four times throughout the show.
@EpicWINNER1000 When Dil came on Rugrats didn't really jump the shark yet (that was Kimi's role) but he still gave Rugrats some new life by making Tommy a more heartfelt and likeable character.
I like Dil more than I like Kimi and Susie, at least he improved all the main cast's personalities.

In The Netherlands we only had Nickelodeon since 2002, but it was very strictly available. In 2004, Nickelodeon finally broadcasted through the whole country. The Dutch Nickelodeon got raped in 2005.

With all these shows, our little children are getting a false impression of what a teenager is! I know because it happened to me in 2005, when I was 8. So PLEASE put back the old cartoons! @grindcore2theextreme I agree with you, somewhat. Rocket Power and all that other K/C mediocrity is OVERRATED, and everyone seems to lump it with the classics for no reason. CatDog is not classic. However, I honestly didn't think HA! was that bad. It taught some moral life values and had likable characters. I agree that IZ is not the best, but I honestly don't think it's terrible. In my opinion, shows like ChalkShit and Catscratch are also overrated and shouldn't be considered "classic".

In my opinion, Nick was once good. However, sadly, good shows have been wrecked by Just for Kicks, My Dad is a Rock Star, iCarly, Zoey 101, the "new and improved" All That, Dill-episode Rugrats, post-movie SpongeBob, the Naked Brothers Band, Mighty Bee, Back to the Barnyard, The Xs, Catscratch, Big Time Rush, Romeo, Just Jordan, Fanboy and Chum Chum, ChalkZone, Yakkity Yak, Thugaboo, and all that other crap that lasted no more than one season.

I completely agree with you that Nickelodeon did start to go downhill in 2004 because that was the year that they cancelled the rest of the original nicktoons from the 90s starting with Hey Arnold, the Angry Beavers, Catdog, the Wild Thornberrys, Rocket Power, and Rugrats. Actually 2004 was the last good year of Nick, then after that it officially SUCKED.

@tandyee Something that bugs me...is how with each passing year, new Nick shows are getting folded into the classic conception, such as Rocket Power, Wild Thornberries, and Catdog, which were mediocre overall and poor in writing (in my opinion). Check out definitions of Nickelodeon on urban dictionary from 2004, and you'll see my theory is right.

Omg I cried!!!!!!!! Viacom ( more like fat ass bitchycom ) ruined this channel.. But the show I miss most is my life as a teenage robot!!!! Plus, I miss hey arnold. And all the shows in this video!! Yra sponge still plays new episode but the old ones were better. Rip Jenny, arnold, kel, Amanda, Danny, etc... We miss u.

Just another teen drama from unoriginal Dan Schnieder, the Seth MacFarlane of Nickelodeon in that he remakes the same shows over and over for teenyboppers. Also I hate to agree with the majority but I though Avatar was good, mostly in season 2.

I just find it strange how people like xUndertaker say "the good ol' days of Zoey 101!" I remember when Klasky-Csupo dominated 3/4 of Nickelodeon and everyone was angered greatly but television has degraded even more and people are going to look back on such mediocrity and say "OH GOD I MISS K/C".

@EpicWINNER1000 All That wasn't bad in it's later seasons, SpongeBob is still good but it was BETTER during it's earlier seasons. I liked Chalkzone and hated the "Dil"-filled Rugrats episodes. All That was still good to but when they "Jumped The Shark" when they made Jamie Lynn part of the cast, Avatar in my opinion got BETTER as the seasons advanced

@MultiMasterflash I didn't necessarily think Avatar got worse. Season 1 was okay but a bit of a turn-off, but season 2 was MUCH better and definitely the best of the series IMO. Season 3, in my opinion, was rather bland and didn't even have that sense of fun and interesting plotting like the S1 fillers did. I thought the finale was quite good, but not as good as some fans say, many of which went absolutely rabid.

Also, I will give ChalkZone some credit: it had a very original concept and obviously meant well, but the concept was poorly-executed and most of the humor corny. Not to mention the animators were on such a shoddy budget that they had to cut corners almost four times throughout the show.

@EpicWINNER1000 When Dil came on Rugrats didn't really jump the shark yet (that was Kimi's role) but he still gave Rugrats some new life by making Tommy a more heartfelt and likeable character.
I like Dil more than I like Kimi and Susie, at least he improved all the main cast's personalities.

I would have to say that the golden age of cartoons was 1992-2007. Watching this video makes me feel so sad and and nostalgic but at least we have the memories. I grew up with Cartoon Network, Disney, and my all-time favorite, Nickelodeon. I miss the classic shows like Jimmy Neutron, Fairly Oddparents, Doug, Catdog, Hey Arnold, classic Spongebob, Rocket Power, Rocko's Modern Life, Rugrats, The Wild Thornberrys, Kenan and Kel, The Amanda Show, All That, Kablam, and My Life as a Teenage Robot. In The Netherlands we only had Nickelodeon since 2002, but it was very strictly available. In 2004, Nickelodeon finally broadcasted through the whole country. The Dutch Nickelodeon got raped in 2005.

To all parents and/or older siblings that are wondering why your little 1st and 2nd graders want to try to be teenagers so soon: the answer is right here! With all these shows, our little children are getting a false impression of what a teenager is! I know because it happened to me in 2005, when I was 8. So PLEASE put back the old cartoons! Not only were they more wholesome, they were better role models for kids.

to those who say "we're not the target audience anymore, that's why we don't like it," my parents enjoyed some of those shows too! My dad loved Rocko and the Angry Beavers. My mom (and aunt) loved Beavers as well. And we'd all watch Hey Arnold and Doug. So I don't buy that "target audience" baloney. Also, Hey Arnold and Doug were my two favorite cartoons. You won't see anything like that again.
