  • i wish i could get into this school

  • Tesla would have been better. It's probably pretty hard to find a Tesla doll.

  • Habe Ben TOUCHis Farafay Cage. Wanto see if his tinsel slightly moves.

  • Excellent!

  • Is this what an overpriced tuition gets you?

  • People who do not understand electricity pis me off.... "How many volts can kill you?"... -__- STFU n00b..... The required current needed to kill someone is around 75mA over the heart. The electrical tension (volts) that can beat the bodies resistance and thus allow the current to flow is changing because the resistance of the body depends on many factors.

  • @gvsfgdf u sound like the biggest douche on the planet

  • @gvsfgdf How do people die in bathtubs?

  • @HoneycombAgent they droun

  • @gvsfgdf Other than your choice of language, you actually have a clue what you're talking about.

  • lol, it is not the volt NOR the the ampere that kills. Its the effect, watts, that kills over time. Though the volt can harm your in a stunning fasion, making it hard for you to get away from the source.

  • What is the purpose of the metal sphere on the front of the metal cage? Simply to direct where the spark goes from the Van de Graaff, or another reason?

  • yah its amps that kill

you could have millions of volts but with a very small amount of amperage, and you'll be just fine

  • This is so cool. i wish i had a chance to study at this school

  • Is this why Tesla could hold millions of volts and amps with his hand and not get hurt? Sweet.

  • @trance183 I dont think tesla held millions of amps. the tesla coils you're probably thinking of were high voltage and low amperage.

  • Well I have always heard that amps can kill. But I saw a movie about Nikola Tesla and in a demonstration he ran tons of amps through a wire until it melted. He then touched both terminals and nothing happened. But I guess that was just a movie.

  • @trance183 If it was a low enough voltage than the current will not be able to penetrate the skin (thats why you can touch a car battery [12volts but can draw over 1000amps) without dying) Its really the combination of volts and amps. As voltage goes up the amount of current needed to kill decreases, and as amperage (current) goes up the amount of volts needed to kill decreases.

  • erm no, amps kill you, he was working on High voltage, low electricity.Anyway, nice presenation, Ben franklin has been protected sucessfully xD
