South Korea decided to use our scrapped concept and made it their own, which inspired us Americans to revisit it and even make it combat ready. Even the name "K-11" is a reference to the original American prototype. Regardless, the weapon system is in good hands and has been deployed by both nations, and God bless North America AND North Korea. And I guess I should say God bless the UK as well.

I remember hearing about this weapon after the XM29 OICW project was abandoned, crazy to see it actually in service nowadays. Perhaps the military will give the XM8 another chance, its a great performer reportedly, but more expensive than the M4A1 and such are to produce. Maybe the XM29 project could also be reimagined, that gun looked like a beast, although we could never perfect it. Korea did though, their K11 has an airburst grenade launcher and a 5.56 NATO assault rifle attached.

Let's say enemy fighter pops up from behind a wall to fire at U.S. troops and then takes cover before they can respond. An XM25 gunner can then use the laser range finder to get the distance to the wall, program the explosive to go off a few feet behind a wall
