Ganders vhf is all over the place, they can use it at 40w west in places,Im in shanwick and we can only use vhf out to about 17w,although there was one day years ago where for a few mins we could talk to gander on 127.9 apparently!
larsperk, very nice video...excellent...always monitor those HF NAT A and NAT b-c Frequencies...Just as loud and clear as you received them, im here in Toronto...have a 75 foot long wire antenna...Again, thanks for posting, excellent video..
It is an ICOM 706 MkIIG connected through an antenna tuner to a 23 foot long wire antenna that runs from the top of the windshield to the top of the vertical stabilizer, then to the side of the fuselage, which is where it penetrates the pressure vessel.

Why are you on HF already at 55W? You should be under radar service until 50W, no?

@germb747 I just switched to HF when Gander told me to .... don't know when that exactly was. Next time I'll take notes.

Regulations require survival suits to be on-board (which they were), but do not stipulate that they be worn during the trip.
