the truck driver is not smart enough to slow down. when i drive, i always slow down when some vehicle might have block the view of pedestrians.

What you are doing is being considerate but it's not the truck driver's responsibility to slow down when the light is green. I am pretty sure there will be lots of traffic jam if everyone is doing what you are doing.

Alot of this thing happens in HK because of the culture and environment. It's crowded in HK and lots of traffics. I am pretty sure this happens a lot in other Asian countries.
