  • 'so that we didn't allow our indolence to triumph'.....this guy never quits

  • Fripp is timeless

  • Thanks so much for posting this, exelent performance, and a good example of the Chapman Stick, i think many people see it as a bass with many strings.

Wish i had been there to see them live.

  • I can certainly see why Fripp invited Trey to join King Crimson two years later, and why Paul, Hideo & Bert formed the California Guitar Trio. This is really, really nice. An example of how a traditionally classical concept like a "string quintet" could have been transitioned so well into the electric age.

  • Robert Fripp's "Hope," as performed here, is, for me, as great as any composition anywhere by anyone, ever.

  • @derek4ur 'Hope' was written by italian Guitar Craft student Antonio De Honestis, from an idea by John Sinks.

    However, great piece indeed ;-)

  • @paraplegia Well, De Honestis will probably compose more wonderful music.

I would so like to own a dvd of this concert! Do you know if and where I can purchase a dvd of this concert?

    Thanks!

  • @derek4ur

As far as I know, the show has never been released on DVD officially.

on dgmlive.com you can find a good quality (audio only) download of it.

  • So great, and so much its own thing.

  • Wish I were a poet myself, to leave a comment as eloquent and exquisite as this music.

Never, ever before thought of the Chapman Stick as a solo instrument...

(To the extent it is used here.)

This concert is like a dream--seamless cycles and singing solos--

    Awesome.

  • Thank you so much for posting--this particular music and work is completely new to me, and so very beautiful and great. Really takes your breath, even on first listen. Fripp is some kind of cloud--keeps billowing outward in all directions, always gracefully expanding, light as a feather, but can thunder, too--no ego, just the meditation, the beauty, the musical journey--and his priceless artistic voice: also divine, natural, human, heavenly, and so true.

This is a concert and a poem.

  • Yamanashi blues is sweeeeeet
