What I do is wear a MIG glove for my right hand when aluminum tig welding, and a normal workglove for my left for having a better feel on feeding the rod. Getting real comfortable helps.
hey dummy you need to pre heat one inch think allumnum first thats why you burnd your self. and 380 amps is waaaaaaaay to high you should never go higher than 200
In austria we have weldingmachines for stuffelectrode welding...it costs around 50 € and its tig compatible...a professionel tig welding machine costs 20 times more :D
It depends on the way the arc is created. Simple and cheap tic torches are using a short circuit. It's cheap but pretty quick and dirty. There is also the high frequency ignition. Torches with this feature are very expensive. You can get good ones at around 1100 USD.
you dont need thicker gloves, put on a cool hand, in my last job i used to do heavy aluminum tig like that alot and the cool hand helped, yo could also put a bend in the filler rod, so you can hold your hand further away from the puddle and still have control over it
those tig welding gloves are good to feed the rod more and more because any thicker u wont have control, and the hand is 2 close to the heat or ur pusshin 2 much gas, make sure its on 25-30 , and aluminum bout 15-20 for the gas
It's hard not to anyway. Need the fine motor control. Besides his gloves aren't thick enough. I have a set looks just like that. Just about as thick as a pair of leather driving gloves or something, not thick enough on the back of the fingers to protect it from the heat.
Somebody pass this guy a propane torch and hts 2000...

beginning to weld or what?
what do you mean?
ardillavolante 4 years ago
First off, wear safety glasses, that is the last line between you and the UV light
Second, don't put your hand so close
