Your voice reminds me of Jaymay's. You do pick some hard covers, with very distinct vocals in the originals to live up to, luckily you don't try to imitate. I think Bright Eyes covers fit you better than Bon Iver or Elliott Smith. There is a certain lack of urgency and emotion sometimes but you can work on that, there's plenty of potential. Maybe you can try covering Jersey Clowns, Sad Eyes (the rykodisc years version) Life or Smile by Josh Rouse.
