  • PLEASE please please.. I want to know what her response is to the FACT that 21,500 engineering jobs in this field have been lost... and I also would like to see Obama explain how an engineer can get a job in their field when the jobs are disappearing???? what kind of lie can he dream up for that fact??

  • Ten years of experience will open most of the doors to any semiconductor company in the Silicon Valley. However, unless you have updated your skills your job may have already been shipped to China. There are plenty of jobs in the semiconductor area. Most likely her husband skills may have been too specialized, or he is overqualified for most of the jobs, or the payment is below his expectations. My recommendation: Leave Texas and come to the SF Bay Area.

  • Google search and look into Gulen Charter Schools and the Gulen H1-B visa jobs.they also believe that we have a shortage of teachers in this country to teach all levers grade school.

  • What a pathetic piece of editing and pure drivel this video is. Anyone who can't see through this bullshit is a moron. Obama helped find someone a job and somehow that makes him an asshole.

It's exactly these kinds of things that will help Obama be re-elected in 2012, and for that I am grateful.

  • Hey, according to Newt, maybe his problem is that he didn't shower. Supposed to shower, then you get a job.

  • GOP wants STIFF MITT FOR 2012, both STIFF and THE GOP will try to buy RON PAUL supporters.

But guess what it won't work

  • "Wedel told the AP Wednesday that the White House deputy chief of staff, Alyssa Mastromonaco, called her two days later and told her that Obama was on the case. And recruiters have contacted the family multiple times since."

  • You don't want to hear that $trillions of debt are Bush's fault, yet bitch and moan about a half $billion that went South on Solyndra? This is just like the 1.5 $billion that went missing in an audit of UN funding, during the Clinton Administration, while we were losing tens of $billions each year in Iraq to graft. What goes around comes around, dummy.

  • How in the hell did this buffoon get into the White House? The country has gone to crap, while this idiot keeps importing 125,000 new foreign workers to fill American jobs every single month.Just 1 day after this townhall meeting Obama announced a plan to issue more work visas "without Congressional approval". Heaven help us all should this asswipe get an amnesty and flood the jobless labor market with 20+ million newly minted citizens to compete with millions of jobless American's for scraps.

  • BS. The GOP launched this? PUHLEEZE...the GOP is JUST as guilty for selling us out! This isn't a party issue! Mitt will fire all of us and replace us with slumdogs at cheaper cost...

  • By the way, when the tax cuts for outsourcing were activated, my party told me and many other people that this would be "good" for Americans. Unfortunately, I and many others never questioned it.

  • Semiconductor engineers have indeed been hurt for many years; however, the chief root of this problem is the outsourcing boom created by the Bush administration with the tax cuts for corporations to outsource overseas. Essentially, this tax cut shaved the corporate expense of moving an entire facility abroad. I can tell you I am a Republican, and I would like to know if this tax cut has been repealed, and if not, why not? We need the jobs at home.

  • Ooooooohhhh....I see what you did there! Since your perceived front runner, Willard Mitt Romney made that gaffe about not being worried about the very poor, you try to dig this out and try to make it seem as though what Obama said was SO out of touch.

Gotcha. Nice try though... Maybe you should try again

  • Why hasn't the House acted on this?

  • Now what do we get? Stupid! Only thing more stupid are the people that voted for this Joker! Copy/Paste: Obama Familiar Rhetoric, Failed Record" on YT.

  • The facts: The number of H-1b visas given in the past year according to cnn for her husband's field in engineering... 5. There have been 5 visas given in the past year.

  • Too bad both Romney and Gingrich want to expand the H-1b visa program. GOP leadership has for years pressed for the expansion of this program. There are a few standouts like Senator Grassley who has pressed for fairness in this program, but big business wants more H-1b visas and most Republicans have voted to give them what they want.

  • a dumbed down society!

  • Oh please! Obummer is wrong on many things but there is actually a shortage of engineers in America. The only reason her husband couldn't find a job is probably b/c he didn't want to move. H1B visa actually costs MORE to companies.

  • My husband and I are both semiconductor engineers for over a decade. The industry is not bad now, and I am surprised the President knows that.

Hiring managers are looking at whether you are good or not, not where you were born. If you are the bottom 10%, even if Obama gets you a job now, you won't be able to keep it.

One thing most people don't know, it's actually more expensive to hire H1B workers (relocation, visa, greed card, legal fees). So you gotta be the best candidate.

  • What exactly does this prove? That the president was unsympathetic? Or that even after this woman continually put up her paranoid claim that immigrants stole every job opportunity her husband had in the past 3 years? Give me a break - NICE EDITING, GOP!

  • @liquidallstar: No, dummy ... immigrants was merely but one issue. Face it -- Obama is an embarrassment...and a liar

  • There are literally thousands of Semiconductor Engineer jobs available right this second. Thousands easily searchable on the internet, in fact. I find it funny that it's the President's fault that her husband can't find a job because of immigrants, but when others are unemployed or don't have healthcare, they are lazy and need to work harder and not count on the government for a handout. You can't have it both ways folks.

  • Haha I saw that interview... it was soo awkward and embarrassing. Ron Paul 2012!

  • I guess he's not using a teleprompter... :)

  • @JasonProperSOI I guess mitt's not stiff

  • Every time I hear the President speak all that I hear is "Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit."

  • @DONGOE Then you need to scrape the bullshit out of your ears.

  • @fingerbonecrusher Tough guy eh? We won't discuss where you need to scrape it off of, faggot.

  • @fingerbonecrusher - If you don't hear his lies, you're not listening.

  • When Obama said "I don't care about the unemployed" that was pretty bad. Wait, he didn't say that? I don't believe you.

  • This video is unfair. No one knows that man's qualifications nor if he sucks at his job. We don't know why he was laid off. Before jumping to conclusions, analyze the situation in full. I'm a Republican, but I will not allow this defense to support our cause on any level. Obama nor Mitt can help this woman. Her husband has to help himself.

  • @bpluvsu According to CNN, Obama has, in fact, helped that woman's husband, by calling his contacts. They reported that several hiring managers have called in the past few days.

  • well, so much for rumors of his academic intelligence -- this guy's an idiot!

  • Her husband should buy a gun and start shooting every day of the week. He'd have a job the next week and then they'd want him to work over time.

  • This is hilarious. Watch the entire interview.

  • @flintskull1 Then why is it that the dems are the ones that are so enamored with entitlements. I'd say reps are the party of personal responsibility and don't figure it's the government's job to take care of them. Fannie and Freddie were the cause of the housing bubble. Bush started calling (in 2002) I believe for MORE regulation on F&F but Frank, Dodds, Waters, Rabgel, etc said there was no need.

  • @mcv47 I see you are revisionist historian who distorts facts to suit your talking points. Tell me what legislation and its number that Bush or any republican sponsored to regulate fannie and freddy? the fact is it was the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act also known as Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999 pushed by 2 major republicans that deregulated banks and made them start issuing sub-prime mortgages. fact is also that goldman sacchs, merryl lynch, boa and major banks already did b4

  • @flintskull1 ** 2001

April: The Administration's FY02 budget declares that the size of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is "a potential problem," because "financial trouble of a large GSE could cause strong repercussions in financial markets, affecting Federally insured entities and economic activity.

  • @mcv47 lol Obama and the republicans say our debt is to high but are not doing squat to address it. The bush tax-cuts, health care, medicare and medicaid are major drivers of our debt deficits and the dems harp about how its unsustainable but don't do shyt about it. its one thing saying something is a problem its another to actually introduce a bill to address the problem. The same republicans said that in 2001 about fannie and freddy all had stocks and received contributions from them

  • @mcv47 b4 fannie and freddie joined in the craze. even so no banks or mortgage brokers put guns to anybody head buy houses they couldn't afford. you right wingers would like to blame poor people or minorities but facts remain 69% of those mortgages went to whites and middle income households. Gingrich lobbies for fannie, Romneys investment portfolio includes fannie & freddie. but you lying right wing scumbags would want blame somebody else or govmt where they are smack in the middle of it

  • @mcv47 you think if this trillion dollar mortgage fiasco was pulled off by minorities or "liberals" alone people wouldn't be in jail right now?seen in papers someone get 30years for robbing a store $60. Spare me the party of responsibility bull-shit only brain-washed fox heads like you believe that nonsense. even the republicans themselves don't believe most things they say on t.v. I have an uncle who is a big republican donor & those ppl laugh at you folks gullibility behind close doors

  • @mcv47 one last thing ever notice how they tell you govmt is bad for you average Americans.they all have govmt payed for Cadillac insurance & pension funds, corporations have an army of lobbyists pushing legislation favor them, oil companies have their billions in government subsidies. best believe if there was another crisis their govmt bailouts & guaranteed interest free loans are assured. billions in no-bid contracts & a tax-code they rig.oh yea buddy keep pulling by those booth straps

  • The Republicans are just as much to blame for our immigration invasion!

    Democrats + Republicans = Repugnicraps

  • Not so interesting. That's the norm. D, R don't matter. All politicians are garbage people on their way to hell. Why bother yourself with it? Make quick note as to how scummy some people are, then get on with being you, build an Earth bag dome home. Buy a gun and some bullets. Learn to grow food indoors to stay out of this nuke tainted atmosphere, hope you don't get splooged by the Fukushima super volcano. Maybe burrow deep and bring an ecosystem. Don't depend on any schmucks.

  • Of course it's "Interesting" Just like W & the Republican controlled congress tested the healthcare waters with their prescription drug plan or Federal Power grabs like no child left behind.

There are very very few politicians that I would call 911 for if they needed intimidate medical assistance. Instead I'd be cheering

  • @underworldassasin Considering that everything has gotten worse under Barry, I's say it's fair to blame him.

  • Hubby lost EE Software engineer job to foreign workers here In USA on H1B visas. There's no shortage of engineers. Husband had years of up-to-date experience & Big 10 Univ degree. HIs work resulted in huge profits for fortune 500 companies from his sucessful work, When project done so are you. President needs to go into detailed research and ask engineers why they lost job & un-able to find work. Have disdain for worn out story of engineer shortage.. Age 45+ unemployed engineers are sunk!

  • @shadowbankers A racist or no one... I'd take no one Alex for seven hundred

  • @myfashionlovee Agreed

  • It's not our president whom controls who gets laid off hired or fired... So please don't personally blame him saying he isn't doing the right things. How is a bill passed, which corporations support politicians? America is going to crap because of the medias twisted words and my generations ignorance. No education what do ever. Go back to shit drunk people say.

  • @MsAntoinettegathers Great. So I never want to hear how 30 years of Reagan Bush destroyed the economy. Are you kidding me?

  • Plus even if economy was regulated there's bound to be a number of unemployed Americans. ITS CALLED MOTIVATION AND DETERMINATION. CHASE AFTER WHAT YOU WANT IN THE RIGHT PLACE.

  • This is dirty. Everyone wants to blame POTUS as if he made decisions. Um no my fellow ignorant citizens. Congress votes and decides. Mr. President just signs or vetoes. Schooled.

  • @myfashionlovee Oh look the repetitive drones have come out of the wood work. Again I never want to hear about how Bush and Reagan policies destroyd the economy. Is that gonna happen anytime soon? No. So stop it.

who killed the pipeline? Who increased spending? Who gave a half billion dollars to Solindra? Just stop it already your making an ass out of yourself. Now were supposed to believe nothings his fault? So what good has he done? Can he praised for for stuff he has no control over? Ugh.

  • Hey RNC...RON PAUL or nobody! Figure that out. Call off the attacks!

  • Honestly... I hate Obama, but this doesn't seem all that bad. The dude should be able to get a job. I'm out in CA, and these guys are needed. So, he's probably living where there are no jobs for such a resume. MOVE LADY!

  • @ssheinfi Semiconductor and electronic components manufacturers have lost 21,500 jobs over the last three years. The Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the computer and electronic products industry at only 36th in employment growth for November to December, with only 200 jobs added nationwide during that time, and averaging a decline of 1,900 jobs a month during the three months prior.

That hardly sounds like a field with a "huge demand" to me.

  • @ShadesOfFall You could be right. The stats are the stats. That being said, here in the SF Bay Area, I see job postings all the time. Either way, Obama blows.

  • @ssheinfi I don't doubt you; overall loss doesn't necessarily mean that some specific local areas (states, counties, cities, etc.) aren't experiencing growth, and it would be wise to consider moving to such an area if at all feasible.

  • @ShadesOfFall: assuming your stats are accurate, how many semiconductor engineers have come here under H1B during the same period? The GOP would blame Obama for the business cycle instead of supporting lowering the H1B cap.

(Since there might be Teapartiers around, I'm not saying the Dems are better than the GOP. I'm saying the GOP is as bad as the Dems. Neither have lowered immigration during a time of high unemployment. See the link in my earlier comment for more).

  • For over five years I've been promoting a plan to ask Obama and other pols questions like this (but much, much tougher). Her question is somewhat a vindication of my plan.

The problem with this video is that GOP and Teaparty leaders are as bad as Dem leaders when it comes to immigration. Note that the GOP isn't attacking Obama over her immigration point, but is just trying to pin the business cycle on him.

    For more on that, see:

    24ahead.com/n/10917

  • @BridgingWisdom3c Sure, they "spliced" the video.

  • This youtube has been adjusted as I was at this google presentation as an observer, I remember exactly the answer in which President Obama gave, I know because I focused intensely due my son being a civll engineer in Raleigh NC, he said that there were NOT many demands for ENGINEERS today as using my sons focus CIVIL engineering as an example. Lets play fair and lets keep it clean, remember we are for the best of our COUNTRY. IS THIS at the Best interest of our Country to splice his tape? NO

  • The question of 401B Visa Workers being used in the US has been going on since the late 90s. High Tech companies say the US doesn't have enough qualified engineers and scientists to fill vital job roles in the US. Lots of engineers and tech workers feel the claim is illegitimate and those companies importing workers get a tax break, more productivity & cheaper wages by importing workers. Is this woman & her husband full of BS, or is it the truth?

  • Telling a woman who's husband has been unemployed for over 2 years that the "data" says he should have a job = out of touch.

Out of touch = out of office.

  • Boy... America screwed up in 2006 and 2008... And it will take decades to undo the damage by these liberals.

  • @flintskull1 Well, it happened after dems took over Congress in 2006 and started spending even more money that we didn't have...Yeah, Barry has accomplished a lot, either bad for the country or failed.

  • @ncboa The President can’t appropriate monies only the Senate can. (Article 1 Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution ‘All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives…’) Blame Democrats Nancy "No New Deficit Spending" Pelosi and Harry Reid.

But if you wanna Blame Bush for being in charge when it happened then Blame Obama for making the hole deeper. Get it?

  • @ncboa What Liberals? I'm Liberal, and I oppose Obama. A liberal wouldn't fund the Guantanamo Bay. Obama is a Right-wing authoritarian, just like all other dems and reps are. By the way, Bush raised the deficit more than Obama has. What do you need to fix this? Stop being a two-party state. The both parties are Right-wing, and they're both authoritarian. This is the reason USA sucks.

  • @MrMcGale Obama tried to close Guantanamo. You probably forgot the crying by Republicans in Congress who blocked the closing, fearing terrorists in our maximum security prisons. (as if they'd be able to escape or something) Republicans blindly oppose anything from Obama, disregarding reason or their own records.

  • @fingerbonecrusher Yes, true. I do know this. But the Republicans should all be placed on elder houses already. And believe me, many Democrats support the Guantanamo Bay. The strongest opposes of it, happens to be Fidel Castro. And the problem with America is, that if a group in middle-east tries to fight for freedom, USA goes in, kills them, and blames them of terrorism. USA is the world police.

  • Um....is this a pro-Obama or an anti-Obama ad? LMAO! It's basically just Obama talking one-on-one with some lady about her problems.

    Bedwetting Republicans = pathetic.

  • The left will attack this woman! You can't hide barry's pathetic record! He is exposed as the loser he is!! America owes this woman a debt of gratitude!!

  • @deckertone: You know, I hadn't thought about that, but now that you mention it, who doesn't remember "Joe The Plumber?" They went through that guy's trash!

  • @deckertone I'm "the left". I agree with the woman.

  • @deckertone "The left"... What Left? The dems and reps are both Right-WIng authoritarian.

  • YOU CAN'T VOTE HIM OUT. He is never leaving.

  • Only muslims and communists are being hired, the USA is finished, either fight of give up I am sick of explain this to people.

  • send me his resume and I'll hook him up....in other words, I'm blowing you off...

  • what a pointless interview

  • @ehex3 Not exactly pointless. Why ARE visas being given to these engineers from foreign countries to work in jobs that your tax dollars are paying for?

  • What is truly "interesting" is that this ideologically driven video conveniently omitted Obama's several requests for the woman's husband's resume so that he could forward it to businesses in need of workers in that field. Interesting.

  • @socalpiper Whats interesting is that the apologist's for this man think that its relevant that the president of the united states in order to cover up his awful record and making a fool of himself by saying what a women said about her personnel experience was "interesting" and countering it with his laughable faulty statistics could be pushed aside with a personnel hand out job. interesting.

  • @socalpiper Well, depending on the profession that her husband specializes in, it could be possible that Barak Obama would have referred him to an employer that wouldn't have been able to help him.

  • @socalpiper Between rounds of golf and campaigning?

  • The Joe the Plumber of 2012

  • @MyOwnYTAccount So your voting obama because hes promising to end regulation?

  • @thebackbencher666 I'm not American, so I'm not voting for anyone. I'm sending money to my American relatives to donate to Ron Paul, but I doubt he'll make it through the primaries.

I'm getting ready for the US economy to collapse because the US Federal government and the Federal Reserve are so inept, there's now no way to avoid it (even if Ron Paul were elected).

  • @MyOwnYTAccount I agree the economy will collapse but I dont know why a foreigner would support paul since if it were up to him any american ally would be on its own but hey thats your thing. Do you think it helps him that he has foreign support or hurts him?

  • Comment removed

  • @thebackbencher666 I don't think it matters what support Ron Paul has. The banker owned, main stream media will never give him the time of day or will demonize him as some sort of kooky, racist, isolationist, religious fundamentalist who will bring about the end of the world (or at least the US).

Ironically, Paul's platform is the only one that I think could preserve the US as a free republic instead of a despotic democracy - even if the economy crashes.

  • @MyOwnYTAccount Why ARE visas being given to engineers from foreign countries?

  • @mcv47 Why are there visas to begin with? They didn't exist until WWI.

  • @MyOwnYTAccount Got me

  • @mcv47 Because governments need a way to corral people so they can manipulate the economy, restrict mobility and extort taxes from people, both foreign and domestic. I'm sure the woman's husband could find LOTS of opportunities all over the world, but because the government LOVES collecting tax revenues and/or using him as a pawn for political gain, they probably won't just let him or the millions of others like him just go.

  • Republican Field Head to Head Polling VS Obama

*data from Real Clear Politics (dot) com

Romney: 33 months worth of polling (136 polls total)

    28 wins, 14 ties, 94 losses – 20.59% winning percentage

Averages losing to Obama by 1.8%

Gingrich: 21 months worth of polling (71 polls total)

    2 wins, 1 ties, 68 losses – 2.82% winning percentage

Averages losing to Obama by 11.0%

Any candidate other than Romney is an easy win for Obama.

  • @miturbinesdurti Thanks for that irrelevance and I dont think the author of robomneycare will do well at all in a debate especially since people from his own team now work for the president.

  • @thebackbencher666 He has 3 years worth of broken promises and lies from Obama to cherry pick from. He will make Obama look like a fool. Obama's disapproval rating is over 50% so don't expect many people to be giving him the benefit of the doubt. They will be looking at the new guy and shaking their heads in agreement.

  • @miturbinesdurti Well way to not address the point. Bromneycare.
