Hello there, I too am another fan of your videos....and I was wondering if you could tell me the name of the cd you had playing during sage's birth? Thee gregorian chant? thanks and hope the family is happy and healthy:)
Hello, I love your videos. I have a few years yet before I plan to have a baby of my own but I have been convinced for quite a while that I want to have a natural birth, at home, with a midwife. However, when I mentioned that to my future mother in law she was mortified. She had very difficult experiences w/ birthing her children. She feels I'm "crazy" to want a natural, home birth. Do you have any ideas on how to convince her otherwise w/o insulting her?
You definitely don't want to insult her! You can gently try to educate her, but first get her experience, and find out *why* she had such difficult experiences. Was she scared? Did she have an awful doctor? Was she prepared for birth? How much input did she have into what happened to her? And in the end, remember it's your birth, not hers, so you can do what you want and leave her out of it.
good analgy. Mental preparation and will power. Very important. laboring is very psychological. all your focus goes inward where it is a battle of wills. Your body knows what to do. trust it. like you said, just when you think you can't do it any longer, theres your baby, and the pain is gone.. pure elation.
that was a perfect example! thank you...

I AGREE!! I had a professor at university from South Africa. He was kind of a jerk but I could listen to him talk for hours!
I watch your videos because we are trying to have a baby and I have wanted a homebirth forever. They are great!
