Lets study both our religions for a moment seeing as you are the first in over 250+ messages I have received affirming my question. Both our religions descended from Abraham. The God of Abraham is the same God for Muslims, as he is for Christians and Jews. We all choose to worship him differently. Is Jesus not recognized as a prophet in Islam? Regardless though, to my understanding Christians believe that Jesus Christ is lord and that belief is contradictory to the fundamental belief of Tawheed which is the Islamic concept that Allah SWT is the one and only god with no partners. I was raised in a Christian home, by parents who wanted me to understand other men. After joining the army, I picked up a Qur'an from the unit chaplain and began to read it.
Though I do not ascribe to the faith outlined in that book, I do respect it. I know a few Muslim soldiers (including my current supervisor), and they are some of the most respectable men and women I know.
That's enough for me to stop and be respectful when I hear the Muezzin sound his call.
I can remember the day I took shahada at the masjid, about a month ago now, and it was the first time I had heard adhan in person. It was so overwhelming and so calming. I am happier now as a muslima than I have ever been! Allahu Akbar

Greetings, No it would not be inappropriate for as you have realised there is something so profound in the Adhan(call to prayer) Which makes brings inner peace and gives you that Direct contact with the Creator of the Heavens and earth, I would also advice as you bow your head in prostration to God ask him to guide you to the straight path with conviction and InshAllah (God Willing) he will guide you.

The God of Abraham is the same God for Muslims, as he is for Christians and Jews. We all choose to worship him differently. Is Jesus not recognized as a prophet in Islam? Regardless though, to my understanding Christians believe that Jesus Christ is lord and that belief is contradictory to the fundamental belief of Tawheed which is the Islamic concept that Allah SWT is the one and only god with no partners. So when you assert the Trinity as the truth, essentially you are opposing the essence of the call to prayer.

I was raised in a Christian home, by parents who wanted me to understand other men. After joining the army, I picked up a Qur'an from the unit chaplain and began to read it.
Though I do not ascribe to the faith outlined in that book, I do respect it. I know a few Muslim soldiers (including my current supervisor), and they are some of the most respectable men and women I know.
That's enough for me to stop and be respectful when I hear the Muezzin sound his call.

I can remember the day I took shahada at the masjid, about a month ago now, and it was the first time I had heard adhan in person. It was so overwhelming and so calming. I am happier now as a muslima than I have ever been! Allahu Akbar

Also, understand that by the time Christianity reached the Arabian peninsula, the Christian message of peace, love, and forgiveness had been corrupted and changed -- thus giving rise to the heresy of Islam. Jesus Christ taught love whereas Muhammad preached hate and the killing of "infidels."

@karwan19 That concept is open to fervent debate in the non-Islamic world. Muslims can believe what they like, but so can non-Muslims. Besides, the Earth isn't exactly "egg shaped" is it? Something God would surely know if the Qur'an were divine. The Qur'an also goes on to say the Earth is akin to a bed (flat). Too many inconsistencies to be considered the word of God.
