"This is the beginning" sounds like it was borrowed from the Animaniacs parody "Hearts of Twilight." In fact, this cartoon contains a lot of the same things as the Animaniacs one. But I liked the dog at the briefing who kept coughing like Harrison Ford did, the photojournalist, and all of the little details from the film that they threw in.

@AvatarYoda - Your comment got me to do some googlin: Weird, it looks like Hearts of Twilight (Animaniacs) and Eekpocalypse Now were aired only 4 days apart (Oct 12, 1993 for Animaniacs, Oct 16, 1993 for Eekpocalypse Now). Which means they were working on the episodes at the same time... how bizarre. I wonder if there was some DVD release or something that triggered the idea...

When I first saw it as a kid, I figured out that it was a parody of a movie, and decided to find and watch it. Now Apocalypse Now is one of my all time favourits, if not *the* favourite film. This episode seems much less funny though, and I cant quite understand why.
