  • our advanced womens group at our highschool did a treble arrangement of this piece, and it was amazing, but i have to say i like the mixed better~~it gives it more of a power

  • Eargasm.

  • one of my favorite Christmas performance songs! We sang it every year, and it was always our intro, with full processional at the University Christmas Gala. So powerful!!!

  • My choir is singing this. I hope it's as good as this!

  • Im singing this in school-3

  • Hoggart's is the best version of this song I've ever heard. This is Hoggart's versin just to slow...

Tho I have to say, the latin pronounciation is remarkable. all other versions on here sound like a bunch of hillbillies not even trying to pronounce the latin text correctlly

  • @rolande135 I've noticed that. As a latinist myself, I find the lack of effort absolutely horrendous. Listen to O Fortuna, then listen to Trans-Siberian's version. It is beyond awful.

  • Hoggart's is the best version of this song I've ever heard. This is Hoggart's versin just to slow...

  • This song makes you go light headed by the end! especially being a first soprano. hard songg, but is awsomee!

  • our tempo went ALOT faster..... our band teacher wrote this....

  • @meowth109 Wrote what?

  • @Scream7277 - i mean the song....

  • @Scream7277 - i mean the song....

  • TBC !!!! My favorite! It gave me goose bumps to hear them perform this as a processional in The Great Hall

  • texas boys chori nadiled it

  • stop trying to point out flaws in this song when it was beautifully done.

  • my choir sang it a little faster than this and we had to walk in a bunch of circles

  • @kittens210able last year my chorus sang this song and we did it slower and walked down isles

  • My choir sang it with a livelier tempo, but I actually like this tempo much better!

  • 4:26 - I died.

  • ahh can somebody please tell me where to find the music for this?? the other latin ones arent the same as this! Im used to this arrangement but in English.. helpp somebody please

  • Stop freaking out about the tempo. The arranger, Lara Hoggard, marked it "Tempo: Processional, half note 66." The piece is in 2/2.

  • I agree that a quicker tempo is more in line with the exultant character of the song.

  • Wonderful version. What a beautiful rendition, the arrangement is fantastic. I wish i could have heard this live, I am sure it would have given me the shivers!

  • @chevalier3:

That's a matter of personal preference. A lot of directors take it this tempo rather than the faster, more upbeat one.

  • @chaoticflame5 to be honest the tempo on this one is more powerful and just simply amazing to listen to and this is close to how my choir sang in the same tempo

  • Omg I freaking love this song. XD

My choir was singing this at the concert today.

With the orchestra, it was awesome!!!!

  • I remembered this off by heart when i was young it was our schools official song

  • weresinging this for prism concert in highschool im so siked

  • hyyyy girlllyy :D:D:D:D:D I didnt know you had afreakin youtube acount xD I feel special lmao

  • This was my favorite part of the Christmas concert my high school held in Houston. I'll always remember this song. Thanks for posting!

  • i don't miss choir, but this is the one song i love and wish i could perform

  • I'm singing this for my prism concert and I'm a first soprano and I personally love this song and I love how slow and steady and strong it sounds its so beautiful everyday when we practice ur music I'm always up for singing this song its so amazing!!!!

  • YOUR IN MY CHOIR CLASS!! bahaha hey gurli. Lmaooo.

  • The intro slow is correct but tempo should have picked up. This drags too much. Great opening song though

  • This just sounds depressing, it's supoosed to be a happy song.

  • Tempo is supposed to be much more allegro, more joyful

  • right on.

  • @chevalier3 i kind of prefer it this way though.

  • Beautiful song and arrangement. My choir is doing this for our Christmas concert.
