The reason as I see it is... these soldiers who commit violent crimes were angry to begin with and maybe joined the military so they could kill some people. It's justified by the government that it's okay to kill people. So they repeat what they've seen. The end.

I am joining the marines and I am doing it because I here of them going out there every day and risking there life's for us and if me going out there can help and save some of them from death then im going.And its not like I have to either. I'm intelligent as are most people who join the military.I am 17 and i graduated at 16 with a 3.83 GPA.Its just that when the ones the you grow close to and face death with die around you ,you tend to change.
What I don't get is how we expect these men and women to go so many times to the warfront. It doesn't make sense they go off to war and then come home and expect them to be normal and even if they finally get adjusted to civilian life they have to go again, and again. It's a tremendous burden that we just don't have to deal with.
How is that even tho the vietnam war was even more hands on than our current one there are way more cases of PTSD? Yet nam vets had it rough when they came back and still do, but in that day in age they knew how to suck it up and deal with life. Our society is way too weak now. And i know (since i work in the field) that a whole lot of the PTSD cases are NOT real, they want the benefits! Its total BULLSHIT!

I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2006 after my second tour and now I pay for all my therapy out of pocket and there are 1,000s of vets in the same position. I rely on disability checks which are a joke. Im so sick I cant even get a job or even allow me in the hospital.

I have been through Long Beach Veteran Affairs so many times my brain craves psychiatric medication, which is what they want, but when I cant afford to take meds because I have a $100 co pay for each 5 meds I was taking, then I'm pretty fucked in terms of withdrawal, pyschosis, and sometimes the law. I have threaten so many people due to lack of meds. only thing keep me in check, weed!

If I'm not mistaken, PTSD was referred to as "Shell Shock" during WWII. Back then, human psychology was a field less studied than it is today.
