Just watched storm chasers ( missed it Sunday) and saw you on this storm, its odd to have watched this months ago, then watched you on Storm chasers and come to back to watch it again. Gain lots of perspective and see things I missed before. You guys are amazing. I have follwed you for a long while now from your site and you guys always get better and better chases. Awesome!

Units 1 & 3 are dead on in position... REED however must have misjudged or something - he's north of the storm and having to haul a** back south.. from the looks of it, at about 70mph! :))

Does anyone know what causes the loooong trailing cloud at the end of this video? I've seen those before in person during a tornadic storm and wondered what causes those.

yeah that's the tail cloud, and is a part of the storm's inflow that comes in along the edge of the forward flank gust front. The air there is rain cooled and very moist so saturates very easily, forming the cloud. Tail/inflow clouds are awesome, they let you see just how fast air is screaming into the storm to replace what has shot up the updraft. I was chasing this storm and, like they say in the vid, that's the longest tail cloud ever!

I do believe that Mother Nature was trying to tell you guys something when she put her finger (the lightning) on the ground. She did it not once, but three times. She was telling you to scram or else and she meant it!

That was pretty scarey sounding. I got a static charge from a nearby lightning strike indoors (when they say stay away from doors and windows, they mean it!) Glad no one was hit by the lightning
