I remember this night! There WAS a funnel cloud, but it mostly stayed out over the lakefront. Most of downtown and half of the rest of the city lost power, though - and the Greentown Tavern's open mic night lost power JUST before I was about to sing a blasphemous song. The song has since been removed from my songbook and shredded, heh.
I was at work at the time over by delany and sunset, it was horrible we lost power and it actually knocked my motorcycle on its side, which never happened to me before.
i still cant believe how close it was to my house.. i didnt see it tho so it probably just missed... so scary.. i looked out my back door and never saw the trees sway like that EVER.. had to yell at my mom to go downstairs smh.
thats waukegan for youlol... tornado and everybody still driving around like its nothing lol. cant blame them tho. there was absolutely no warning. the tornado hit my neighborhood not far from where you are
I Live In Waukegan. Waukegan Is My Hometown. Living in waukegan i never saw a tornado except yesterday. Its Funny Because They Didnt Even Warn Us In The Tv . (well mine didnt) well i love waukegan and always will .
All my years living in Waukegan I had never heard of a tornado but once in 1996 n it didn't even form! Wow WTF !! But they no longer scare me lol! Because that's really common where I live now! Lol

Was it a confirmed tornado? I know they had 80 mph winds... but couldn't see a tornado.
