Though Carly may not have the vocal range that she used to have, if you listen to her 2009 Album "Never Been Gone", you'll hear the same, sweet, unmistakable voice Every singer has days when their voice is not at it's best. At any age.

She also needs to take some time away, write some really good material, and work with different producers. This arrangement doesn't quite work, not for me, and she puts in a oddly gruff performance too that doesn't quite come together either. But she sings it pretty good in other clips from 2008, so I don't think she's lost it.

This arrangement doesn't quite work, not for me, and she puts in a oddly gruff performance too that doesn't quite come together either. But she sings it pretty good in other clips from 2008, so I don't think she's lost it.
But you get suspicious when you see another woman singer also on lead vocals. Makes you think Carly can't sing anymore. Like Ringo Starr these last 2 decades—you never see him playing live without another drummer there too.

A class act in her day.....really was.But would,nt you think her management would of stopped this ever happening it was dreadful.....If iam right she had been on an intensive tour and her voice was possibly knackered after that....As it is with most people,all major stars say they need to rest the voice and look after it after a tour....she is not.....Bloody hell Carly....You should not of done this!!!!

Man - she is great, but this does not even sound like her at all. I agree. Her management should have advised against this and given her voice some rest. I can't even finish listening... but I love those lips...

Dear public: I just didn´t know who she was, so I have a more objective thought about this video: aas a first impression, she doesn´t sing well, but most of all: she doesn´t express. Therefore, she is not an artist, at least not in this concert.

What do you know about art? Artistic interpretation is subjective. You may not like her others may love her. none of this stops her from being an artist. Even if she sucked she would still be an artist who sucks. Art is creative expression. This is creative expression. Therefore she is an artist. I happen to like her singing. Go read some books on Aesthetics the field of philosophy that deals with that which is beautiful.

@monicasiwy perhaps some research would have helped you here. Carly Simon rose to fame during the 1970s, and has since won a Grammy, Academy and Golden Globe award.
She is now 64 yrs old and probably doesn't sing aswell as she used to in the 1970s.

However, I have just seen Carly on the BBC magazine programme 'The One Show'. I am sorry to say Carly Simon looked absolutely grotesque; the plastic surgery made her look like a burns victim.
We all have to get old, but unfortunately Carly is almost making a fool of herself. As a fan of 36 odd years I find this very difficult to say.

music just is. the band was tight, she's amazing - no matter what - and after 30 years of playing the song the same, and on piano usually... i think its neat she mixed it up to match her voice... things change. it, and she is beautiful. xoox

Carly Simon recently cleared up the myth about who this song was based on. Every body speculated it was about either Mick Jagger or Warren Beatty and some other names. Apparently it was record company tycoon David Geffen. Maybe Carly should have kept the secret, but the song will remain brilliant forever.

She's 62 in this vid! She's earned the right to do whatever she wants with the ups and downs she's been through. Lets see how you look and sing when you get there. She's still a legend and broke ground for all the singers now that'll be forgotten by the time they're 30.
