  • Guys, Protest the Hero borrows a LOT more from bands like SiKth an Dillinger Escape Plan than BTBAM.

This band rips SiKth soooooo hard. Still kickass though.

  • u arguing about Blake and Moe? U surely aren't musicians nor can really feel music, shut up! they're different, period.

  • @eichem77--i find it funny that they are arguing such a moot point. anyone who tries to diss on someone is obviously not a true musician themselves and do so out of spite and/or jealousy. they needa pull up their skirts and just be friends.

  • If they had Between the Buried and Me's drummer. They would rape ass.

  • @KrE3Ed They'd rape ass either way

  • @KrE3Ed dont talk shit about moe! hes the best drummer protest could have

  • @KrE3Ed ???.........I actually find Moe is a better drummer then Blake.

  • @IGNsucks Are you kidding me? Have you heard Blake play?

  • @KrE3Ed Yes hes great but playing well doesnt make you a great drummer cause anyone can play anything with enough practice. Moe has much more interesting parts and thus is better drummer since he can write better music. BTBAM is a good band and is the reason were getting great progressive metal but they're still stuck in the past and use way to much generic guitar riffs and drum beats.

  • @IGNsucks I still disagree with that, but we all have our opinions. Plus, there is a lot of influence from BTBAM on PTH. You can hear it on their songs.

  • @KrE3Ed not alot but there is some influence from BTBAM.

  • @KrE3Ed They're practically contemporaries. Technically, PTH have been around longer. The only thing they have in common is that they are both progressive/technical bands.

  • @KrE3Ed true that. new album is turning to the prog side. definitely some parts that sound like BTBAM but PTH is still in a league of their own. I dont think they are influenced by anyone, they just happen to sound like them. theyve said in interviews that the only band they really respect is Propaghandi so I highly doubt theyre being influenced by other bands. its just a coincidence that bands sound alike.

  • I hope all of you realize how important this band is.

  • Screw the video, I just play the song while a 4-year-old shines a flashlight in my eyes.

  • I like men

  • Hello, just give us a minute of your time. Check out our 2 music videos for Death By Drought & Frozen Eyes. Thumb this up people! Thanks, Protest The Hero <3

  • Unreal song, unreal video, unreal band. Keep it up!

  • Rody has the best scream/growl/clean vocals. And he utilizes them like no other.

  • man why aren't there any other metal bands out there as good as PTH? it's hard enough to find a metal band that utilizes CLEAN VOCALS as the primary, and even harder to find ones that even come close to the epicry of Rody's voice

  • @ShadowCrowX your right, and also i think PTH is very underrated, i guess all the fake pop listeners cant handle it

  • @2010METALFAN not just the pop listeners, but egotistical metalheads who are too into the noisy shit. Don't get me wrong, screaming and growling is cool in good measure, but too much of it in the metal scene ruins the instrumentation it pukes over

  • @ShadowCrowX yeah, like genre trolls, people who think that you could only sing or scream, but not both. PTH involves both at the perfect timings, king of like bullet for my valentine, im not comparing those 2 bands, thay are completely different, but thay measure it good also

  • woah woah woah.... Vevo? Explicit? WHAT IS THIS VEVO, AND WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!?!

  • Should stick with 1 singing style.I don't think he can mix the growls and the soaring high pitch singing too well

  • @HyperVoldo go away....

  • @HyperVoldo Look up sequoia throne and say that again.

  • @Zethsway You're right, he shouldn't growl or scream at all...

  • @HyperVoldo If Rody's vocals aren't your cup of tea, I can respect that. But don't bother sharing your opinion with us, because quite frankly, we don't give a flying fuck.

  • @thetime769 don't cry, I was just sharing my views. the comments section is for positives and negatives and I wasn't been immature about it :)

  • oh that bass slap <3

  • ,..protest the fuckin heroooo!!,...my favourite band,...Definitely!!!;)

  • @SexRobotOfDoom Faggot SexRobotOfDoom.

  • Beardcore band

  • @NeneHDL unintentionally, of course

  • @NeneHDL I think the Beardcore prize goes to Mastodon, except for the drummer...

  • @NeneHDL thereis none. NO core at all.what even.Youre an imbecile.

  • @teamSKDM It was a joke, don't be a dick.

  • @teamSKDM dude what's wrong with you? it was only a joke.

  • @NeneHDL dont be a corndog.

  • @teamSKDM hey dude i really enjoy this band.

  • I think Protest the Hero would like to kill me if they knew me because... I just love these guys TOO MUCH... Favorite band... favorite singer, favorite drummer, favorite guitarists, favorite bassist... favorite songs... favorite albums... i live for them!

P.S. From 1:53 till the end... it's the best shit I heard in my life...

  • longer beard = better growl

  • @Gtrplayer77 How many people do you think actually understood all that :P

But,, your still right in every aspect

  • I prefer these guys to probably every progressive metal band except Animals as Leaders.

  • @NateCGuitar same AAL and PTH need to tour together.

  • @IGNsucks Definitely, I'm seeing AaL with BTBAM and TesseracT on friday. Gonna be pretty sick.

  • The depth and detail to the composition is incredible - very romantic. Lots of major key sections and multi staff voice leading, picardy thirds, fugue fragments...these guys are monsters. Then, Rody comes afterwards and adds mind boggling vocals to what are full-fledged instrumental tunes already... musiciangasm!

  • 1:04

    Holy fuck Arif

  • thank the dark gods there is somebody in the "metal genre" that thinks outside the fucking box!

  • 2:16 is the best part

  • The opening to this song is sexy.

  • Patricia

  • major love to the piano

  • Like all the future ghosts who scratch their name in wet cement demeaning meaning as they shout out at the emptiness.

  • 1,000 years ago a portel from hell ripped open and realsed demons. Then god sent down PTH and they destroyed them. When god told them to come back to heaven they said "No way we want to blow mortals minds with epic music!", thus the begiging of protestt he hero!!!

  • BAM!! I got it. Ok, get ready for this.....in the afterlife where all the Legendary Rock 'n' Roll frontmen go, Freddie Murcury and Robert Plant found eachother, fell in love and created Rody Walker. lol.

All seriousness this band kicks ass...and they show that you don't have to make music for everybody to enjoy or even understand. If you are feeling it. Find a way to manifest it.

  • This band fckn awesome! Trust me!

  • I think if they were to release an unplugged album, full of those amazing piano pieces & acoustics it would be huge.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrChevchellios Dear Sir, i would actually hate this unplugged album. It is just because of the fact that these guys can bring so much diversification of hard riffs, sick drum parts, amazing vocal range and this calm intros and fading that i love so much to listen to them

  • @jonnyfumbal i think he means a new album with these piano parts and such, not just an unplugged remake of fortress

  • @person2045 Even though they would create a complete new album; the lack of screaming, hard riffs and drums would by far exceed the pleasure of listening to it

  • @MrChevchellios a second this

  • @MrChevchellios oh god....YESSSSS!

  • @MrChevchellios it's just me or i don't hear any piano pieces in their songs ? :-/

  • @BorgMater He means the one at the end of the song :)

  • @MrChevchellios I don't think they would be comfortable so far outside of their box, however. They need that distortion and high BPM to get their results. \m/

  • fucking amazing... I WISH I HAD THOSE CHOPS!!!!

  • Favorite song off of Fortress!!! I'm a little disappointed that pth didn't do any cool piano endings on Scurrilous :(

  • I hope they're gonna bring out their new video for Hair-Trigger soon :D

  • @g0d0fgu1tar Canadian band. nuff said.

  • 0:59 for lion!!

  • All time low doesnt even compare to the amazingness that is protest the hero

  • i would pee in there butts.

  • OMFG.....

  • Iv seen these guys on first ever tour an it was 4$ for door an they use to come an play for us all the time :) the good days when the scenes were not almost dead

  • is it just me or does the lead singer in this band looks like the sauce boss from epic meal time?

  • @blackcatHA It's just you.

  • Not that I'm a little bitch who cares about language, but rofl at the fact that the censored version is not available in my country.

  • an uncensored vevo song? HOLY SHIT that's amazing!

  • @XXXdemosthenesXXX I guess the 76 people that gave you a thumbs up are also narrow minded.

  • @moneenisonfire No, we're not narrow minded. We just dont like shitty music

  • @XXXdemosthenesXXX I listen to Protest and All Time Low. Just because you're narrow minded doesn't mean everyone is.

  • lol im watching PTH why the hell do i want coldplays gay shit

  • @fire24jordan its luke that plays paino when ever you hear it in their songs

  • @TheNewfiessj6 unless you count the synth in Limb from Limb. that was done by someone from dragonforce

  • @TheNewfiessj6 Naw, Tim plays piano too.

  • Which one of them plays piano at the end?

  • @fire24jordan Tim

  • There's really nothing not to like about this song...

  • These guys really set the bar too high to reach. There isn't any other band out there as good as these guys at what they do. Deep meaningful lyrics, tight and technical drum parts, ungodly bass, and the most elegant ear orgasm enducing guitar parts ever. Keep doing your thing Protest.

  • @SoopaFries totally agree there. a complete and utter league of their own.

  • @SoopaFries you set the bar to high with that comment. there are most defiantly other bands better than these guys.

  • @kiddhitta Prove it...

  • @kiddhitta Why don't you name me a few bands then, because clearly if there are bands that can be all around better than PTH you would have given a least one example in your comment to rest your case.

  • @2kool4you2eat dream theater. game over.

  • @SoopaFries

we need more people like you in this world man!!!!! excellent way of describing their talent!

  • @SoopaFries I think Dream Theater is the only band that matches them.

  • @SoopaFries Well, there is the masters of prog, Dream Theater

  • @SoopaFries Try to look up tool, Symphony x and dream theater just as a start if you want technical good musicians xD see thats advanced and awesome stuff (;

  • @SoopaFries they remind me of rush, figures both bands are canadian and are the most underated bands ever

  • @SoopaFries There is a band,it's called "Destrage" and they should deserve more notoriety than now, listen to "Jade's Place" they are just more crazy than PTH(by the way i love both).

  • FUCK VEVO.

  • Really fucking deep awesome lyrics.

  • The amazing bass, guitar, and vocals distract me from the drums which is what I'm most interested in. :)

  • finally some good vevo shit

  • Arif looks badass in this video clip

  • i wonder why moe shaved for the music video...

  • Epic bass tapping

  • Most musically proficient band ever. On any instrument.

  • @BieberMustDie11 Except for the flute lol. Yeah, but seriously, extremely musically talented band.

  • Who would want to listen to the clean version?

  • 1:27 - 1:30 EPIC!

  • this drummer kicks ass!

  • you know what, I've just Realized that they all have a tiger t-shirt in this video.

  • The 13 idiots who disliked this song nead an ear transplant

  • @Pyrotechition01 their ears were melted before they got a chance to listen to it properly

  • nice, great, hard beats, fantastic, i love it soooo much, and my soul is on fire as soon as i hear this song, lol, thumbs up all the time for this band

  • Can someone upload this video with better sound quality?? I mean c'mon, I have to pump the volume to 35db and damn near blow the effin speakers to enjoy it!!!

I'd do it myself but I have a PHD in computers..... Push Here Dummy!! LOL :P

  • @Drunknmunky0377 how about buying the album?

  • @MrNewpants I have the album, I would just like to see a lyric vid done by someone that has expierence and with better sound quality lol..... The album KICKS ASS tho!!! 8)

But thanks for the suggestion 8) Rock on my fellow PTH listener \m/ >_< \m/

  • 1:10 *ballerina*

  • quelle belle barbe le chanteur ! haha

  • TORONTO

  • Does anyone else start to feel epic at around...2:13 of the song?

It just feels and sounds fucking epic. Anyone else?

  • @CenterClarity Your right. It's epic. It's not just you.

  • This band is the shit.

  • So. Epic.(: THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE FAMOUS. likenow.

  • In which key is this song? Any know? I'm a music n00b.

  • I listen to a ton of music, and if I had to choose the 4 bands that most make me want to improve myself musically on my guitar and form my dream band, the quartet would be Nevermore, Dream Theater, Metallica, and Protest The Hero. It's funny, because the first three have been together for over 20 years each, and they're all grown knowledged adults, while Protest The Hero is a young band, which I admire. These guys are nothing less than an inspiration.

  • @MotionlessGhost886 Not Jeff Loomis instead of Nevermore? I mean I love both bands, but as a guitarist Jeff Loomis is MUCH more difficult than nevermore's material. Look at Miles of Machines.

  • @likuidflaememan well yeah I enjoy Jeff Loomis' solo stuff to death and it's definitely more difficult and directly more talented than his Nevermore stuff, but I meant 4 BANDS, not 4 Solo artists. But Jeff Loomis is my guitar idol.

  • @MotionlessGhost886 Ahhhh. Alright. I see what you mean. Jeff Loomis is amazing. You ever looked at animals as leaders? If you want something difficult. Haha. Thats where to go. I have never found anything more difficult than animals as leaders.

  • @likuidflaememan Yeah I was watching Jeff do Jato Unit at EMG on here and I found Tosin Abasi doing Wave Of Babies, then found animals as leaders. Holy crap those guys are insane.

  • @MotionlessGhost886 animals as leaders first (and only so far) album is just tosin abasi, he got the other guys so he could tour

the drums on the album were programmed by misha mansoor, the guitarist of periphery, just a little trivia for you

  • @midgaard666 yes, misha is a genious, have you heard his solo shit that he calls bulb

  • is it just me or the amount of change in the beard of the members is pretty awesome!

  • I'm listening to Protest the Hero...Why would I buy All Time Low's new album...¿

  • @XXXdemosthenesXXX Because the youtube ads aren't customized for YOU. Unlike YOU some people have varying tastes in music, and like multiple genres. Not everyone is close minded.

  • @GrizzlyKrunkScreamer I love people like YOU who bitch for the sake of it, get off his balls.

  • @itslikesexinyoears Gonna let me on yours? ;)

  • @XXXdemosthenesXXX Because the ads don't have anything to do with the video you're watching. Ads keep youtube free, so I'm not complaining about them.

  • @XXXdemosthenesXXX I got queen. queen's awesome as well.

  • WOW! :O I should begin NOT to judge bands by one song. I've heard one song by this band before and thought, "What is this shit?" but I have changed my mind; they are actually awesome. Still, I like some other bands more (Dream Theater) but this is one of the best surprises ever.

  • beautiful outro. one of my favorites from these guys... they definitely know how to hit you hard at the beginning then finish the song off. I LIEK.

  • the eargasm begins in 1:39

  • 5 songs in one!!!

  • R.I.P Timmy's Beard :'( </3

  • @MegaEpicRawr its more like R.I.P. Moe's Dreads.

  • @MegaEpicRawr long live Rody's beard!!!

  • i cant believe what i am reading on here this band is not better than system of a down they dont have nearly the amount of fans and musical ability as SOAD they are really good but they dont come close to the composure that SOAD has!!!

  • @rwilt8 IMO Protest is much more skilled than SOAD. Protest is probably one of the most technically amazing bands of all time.

  • @rwilt8 your right sadly they don't have the amount of fans as soad but that mainly cause not alot of people have heard of them my friend but i have to agree with thetime769 that protest is the most amazing band of all time

  • @rwilt8 why do you even care about how many fans a band has? that's just stupid.

  • @rwilt8 Lady Gaga has more fans than SOAD so does that make her better? fuck off SOAD sucks.

  • If everyone is playing comparisons may aswell give it my 2 cents. The only band really similar to them is BTBAM, and I prefer PTH. I can see where you are getting at with the SOAD comparisons, they are both very alternative metal bnds with errtic song structure. But they sound very different and I wouldn't compare them.

  • God there vocalist just has an amazing stage presence...

  • @apollos7

DragonForce actually has quite some imagination.. I never listened to them until 2 days ago I decided to check them out.. I can't get into them cuz of the vocals and lyrics but you can't say they don't have imagination... they're super sick musicians actually but PTH is still way better
