  • Who invited the 3 jocks?

  • how many NXT bricks did you use?

    anyway, nice machine.

  • How mmuch?

  • Can you actually show us it being fully solved instead of sensationalizing it and not letting us see it?

  • @Budgiebrain994 there is another video of CubeStormer II on the ARMflix channel showing a complete solve :-)

  • @IAssemble thanks, realised that 1min after posting comment :/

  • current wr is 5.66

  • awesome invention dude!

  • You should give it 15 seconds inspection time so it can think of a more optimal solution. also, inspection time should not be included in the solve time i.m.o.

  • I'll say robot will win for sure at the end. Cause there are finite combinations and formula to solve. Just like human can't beat calculator for sure.

  • DUMPERT

  • Will Lego sell this set ? :-)

  • @dolezaljacob The lego looks like Mindstorms NXT (possibly several sets) which has been around for a while. It appears to be controlled by a Samsung Galaxy phone which is possible as NXT has bluetooth. Interesting stuff, I may have to get a Rubik's Cube as mine dissapeared years ago

  • DUMPERT!

  • Much more expensive then hiring an Asian.

  • So how was it built?

I assume you used NQC for the lego and a Java application on the Android with a homemade algorithm to find the solution to the Rubik's Cube?

  • @DudeJelle the app was developed using the Android NDK to compile the "homemade" solving algorithm from C++ to run natively on the dual-core Cortex-A9 in the smartphone but yes, the rest of the app was written in Java.

  • Song title, or DL somewhere? it sounds friggin awesome!

  • @leonkunst88 Mike (see video credits) composed this especially for this video! I don't know whether he's given it a name yet :)

  • Oh David - you guys at Arm have too much fun! Martin D.

  • @mdickens21 when we can find time! :D Have you seen the follow on video too?

  • it's so fast! the motors and everything!

  • Nice technology but... i think the world record is faster than this..

  • @RubyTheSpammer - stay tuned...

  • @ARMflix got 7x7 @@?

  • @RubyTheSpammer have you seen the latest CubeStormer II video on ARMflix? :D

  • @IAssemble did not o, whr is it?

  • @RubyTheSpammer just search for the title "CubeStormer II" :-)

  • @RubyTheSpammer 5.66 seconds at the Melbourne Winter Open 2011... why you doesn't google it?

  • @RubyTheSpammer In Rubik's Cube contests there are predefined arrangements of the cube so they just learn the solutions whereas the cubestormer II computes the solution which is actually interesting

  • @Sleho93 To an extent, most of a speedcuber's solve is intuitive, only the last layer is algorithmic.

  • @RubyTheSpammer - Nope ! Worlds record is 5.66 sec ! so this beats the record ! nice... :D

  • @RubyTheSpammer Nope, this is the record, the previous record was set by Feliks Zemdegs, who did it in 5.66 seconds after closely examining the cube. This robot requires only 5.3 seconds and does it on the fly.

  • @RubyTheSpammer ehhm not directly, this mashine can solve it 5-10 secs, and so sometimes the mashine is faster!!

  • @legofunny1 yea i cn see...

  • @legofunny1 faster than that

  • Good technology demo. Believing is Seeing! Not the other way around.

It was first believed that it could be done, then it was built, then others who could not think it could be done, now believe!

  • @PoirierMike you confuse everything

  • so cool

  • What does it average?

  • @snkenjoi Last year, the average was 15 seconds to solve it. So this year should even be faster.
