  • Thank you for posting, One of my favorites from the Pointer Sisters.

  • rhianna this is class take a lesson you dont have to pARADE LIKE A 10 $ HOOKER

  • @TheMkenneth, Rhianna is NOT a 10$ hooker. Her wage is actually much lower than that ;-)

  • @Cicilo1983 Let's be kind. The Pointer Sisters were special and came from a special time in history. They paved the way. They sang from a place deep within. They were Freedom fighters in their music.

  • rhianna this is class take a lesson

  • This is just a wonderful record - the Pointers sound outstanding and the arrangement is brilliant - it sort of floats until it reaches a crescendo - just love it. Thank you for posting.

  • Okay. How come these ladies get so little recognition ? Just listening to this song should convince ANYONE that these ladies are amazing. Asides from being one of the most talented soul/R&B act ever, they were a hit machine for over a decade. Their accomplishments rarely ever get mentioned. They should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame !!!

  • @Cicilo1983 YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT , GOD IWAS LUCKY TO GROW UP IN THIS ERA.CONSIDERING THE CRAP THATS PASSED AS MUSIC TODAY

  • @TheMkenneth true:) its really the best era ever.:)

  • @Cicilo1983 agreed!:)....:( June you are missed,.... I love the Pointers:)

  • Thank you very much, clintonmusiclover, for this fantastic video and for recounting your fantastic experiences!! I am very much appreciative!!

  • Oh man i wish my generation was getting beautiful music like this! I wanna freeze in time til this magical stuff comes back! =))

  • good to the last drop

  • A truly under-rated yet fantastic group of ladies! I ADORED them, still do!

  • One of my favorite songs! This was the only reason why I bought that cd!

  • Nice Video, I miss the classy R&B videos from the 80's they ment something ,and were nice to watch

  • I've always loved this song. This is the first I'd seen the video. It's marvelous. What class and great message. I like that John Lennon was included.

  • Thank you for posting. Very well done video. RIP June, forever in our hearts

  • Anita kind of sounds like Ruth in the begining

  • Everytime I hear this song, it brings tears to my eyes because we have come so far but we still have a way to go.

  • no nubian means black queen woaman

  • in heavan again great perfect song

  • It's amazing how much clothes these ladies are wearing. Times have changed.

  • Insightful lyrics. Beautiful song.

  • awsome song. so sad that she died.

  • heaven on earth love it

  • this is one of thier most beutiful videos made and shows thier minds as women of intelligence as well as nubian beauty.

  • hey acehowlong....forgive my ignorance but could you tell me what nubian means? and the video is beautiful...and im sure you will agree that no one could sing it like the pointer sisters

    kat

  • Its a lesser known term for Black.

    CaucasianAryan = White

    Nubian =Black

    Asian = Oriental

  • Another classic song!

  • this was my favorite track from contact. i loved the girls' harmony.

  • I may have been 5 when this came out but this song has really helped me out personally throughout the years.

  • ok, with all that hair these sistahs had to be at least NINE feet tall!

  • LOL at lorimneal... but you know they are among the most beatiful of the tall folks..

by the way how tall are they..for real? does anyone know? great talent these ladies have..

    =D

    kat

  • "Freedom" is a magnificent song. Not their best known song, but a classic nonetheless. I remember hearing Chaka Khan performing the original version in the movie "Moscow on the Hudson", featuring Robin Williams; however, this is the best version by far, if only for the soaring harmonies of these amazing ladies. Thanks for posting !

  • Tears for the freedom we don't have, tears for the freedom others lack. Freedom to love. Freedom from fear. When will the truth set us free, or is it up to us to do so?

  • A beautiful spiritual song...very insightful tribute to our strong ancestors.

  • oh yes those are my girls they are still the s h i t

  • check out my page I got a little concert of the sisters. clintonmusiclover

  • @kleebabygirl2000 they were the shit when you were in pampers kiddo .

  • Thw album version of this song is TWICE as good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My favourite Pointer Sisters song of all time. I remember I bought their album "Contact" on cassette, and this was my fave. Think I was only 10. "Dare Me" was my other fave. Is June Pointer dead now? Heard a rumour she was ;-( This beats alot of the crap out there these days!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • yes june is dead

  • @ArronJames69 Dare Me, I love the song.:) my fave............. love the synths, its the nicest ive heard

  • Wow! Music... Thats all I can say.

  • THANK YOU!! for adding this video. I remember this album (back when albums were actually in style:-) and this was my favorite song. The harmony on this is fantastic and it also displayed anita's voice.

  • One of the most overlooked songs, I think. Too bad. It says so much. Thank you for posting this. Made my heart smile tonight.

  • OVERLOOKED is a understatement!

  • I love Anita on lead vocals and the harmonies with the other Pointer Sisters. Simply Lovely....

  • Thank you for posting this. I tried to find it a few months ago and thought i'd give it a try again. It brings back so many elementary school memories!

  • Possibly one of the most beautifully composed songs ever. Anita's most soulful tune ever....

  • i love these women. it seems like anytime that their is a list of some of the best female groups, the pointer sisters get overlooked. i know because im guilty of doing it myself. all 3 women had great, strong voices and proved that they could handle lead vocals, something that alot of the 90's girl groups lacked.

  • Very true. Besides En Vogue, the Pointer Sisters' vocals are authentic. I may get flack for this, but I don't care....SWV, Xscape, Total, TLC...come on! NONE of those girls had authentic, soulfuls sounding voices. They may have had good "jamz", but the Pointer Sisters SANG

  • O no, you are correct in what you are saying! Im a fan of all of those girl groups you named, but hands down, none compare to The Pointer Sisters, vocally. IMO, En Vogue, Brownstone, and Xscape are the best female vocal groups of the 90's, but groups like The Emotions, The Pointer Sisters, LABELLE, my God, those women got the KILLER vocals; EVERY member could BLOW!

  • this is a great song so mellow too. i bet if played in certain events it would almost bring a tear to my eye

  • Olympics Beijing 2008. Or how about the event called life... waking up every day. Less than 6000 hits, the "Macarena" had what? a few million, sad commentary.

  • I looked for this video for over a YEAR on here, THANK YOU for adding it!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much! Its hard to find these videos it is wonderful to find like minded individuals:)) I will now go and drown my self in 5 star, midnight star and Mel and kim:))

    Cheers.

    Roxanne. New Zealand

  • Thank U! I appreciate that very much. I truly love the Pointers! I alwats had a crush on Anita, but when I met them June was the coolest! She told us a joke that she said Stevie Wonder told them. I was so honored to have known June.

  • @clintonmusiclover wow lucky you:) Imiss June and yes Anita is the one i admire best.:) love them Pointers

  • @Selnitz I love these girls. Their music has always given me cold chills.

  • @Abbie102349 i love them too so much.

  • Side note...my friends and I used argue who was the cutest sis. I was always w/Anita. Too bad about June Pointer. Just when she was cleaning up herself. That's alright. no more suffering now. Miss the 80s!

  • mahalo so much for this video clinton. It's so nice to see other people who love and remember the older songs that did not quite get as much attention as I felt it should have. This one, you felt there soul in it. Especially when they sing,"...Ohhhhh, let me gooooo! Mahalo, again.

  • thank you so much for posting. i love the pointer sisters. i never seen this video before and ive finally found it.

  • You are so welcome.

  • I just love this song, and it's been a long time since I've seen the video, thank you.
