You're talking about delivering a box. But the problem is a box is not a human being - so the analogy doesn't equate. Fedex doesn't treat sick human beings - they move boxes around.
LIkewise, you keep talking about government healthcare like it's a hypothetical - like it's never been tried before (typical American: not invented here syndrome). Instead of speaking hypothetically if you want your answer go look at the other countries that already use single-payer health insurance or similar.
You are correct, human beings are not packages. I would be more willing to let the US government take an active role in human health, IF they could do anything they tried to do. In the 1960's they declared a war on poverty, 1970's a war on drug use. Both problems are still around.Further, comparisons to other countries fail when you consider we are the 3rd largest country in the world and dwarf the numbers of any EU member. We also pay vastly lower taxes and give much more money to our military.

One of the standard Moore-ian responses to this argument is that despite being displayed in some government-run services, inefficiency is not necessarily inherent in socialized programs. With careful implementation, a nationalized US health care system could theoretically function better than the current system.
