@Ozzie711 Hey, the world isn't perfect and neither is Mary, I guess. It's just her singing style. With all the stuff going on in this clip, I'm glad that the only thing that you chose to pick on was that note-holding issue.
pretty dang good for HS...especially since it's Sondheim...the original surpisingly bombed and lasted only 16 shows on Broadway...Jason Alexander (Seinfeld) sang the part of the producer
Hey our secondary school (high school)is doing this but we dont know how to do the transitions. Our budget is not big so we cant get the spinny thing but if anyone has an idea i will greatly appreciate it.
WHAT?? The original order, of course, like the script demands!!! That's what makes the show so "cool." Why would anyone want to screw with it by reversing the time-line [making time move forward]? Ya wouldn't want Sondheim to bust a blood vessel, would ya?
"Throughout the years, with Furth and Sondheim's blessing, the musical has been staged with numerous changes, most notable of which is presenting its scenes in chronological order rather than in reverse. Sondheim has contributed new songs to several of the show's incarnations." -wikipedia
FLHS does it again!!! Love this show and from this brief clip, I know I would have loved this production. The kids are great (very pro), the orchestra rocks and the set/lights are amazing. Not an easy show to stage. The set/lights make it really work, for me. Inventive, slick and great looking.
Still so hard for me to believe this is HIGHSCHOOL. If you have more clips, PLEASE post.
what school is this?

lol charley doesnt even have a typewriter. I hate it when they are in the triangle in this scene everyone does it!
boredness123 3 years ago
And Mary doesn't "even" have a phone. Hmmm.. maybe there's a "theme" goin' on. I hate all geometry, not just triangles.

@boredness123
How else would you stage it so you can see all the performers?
columbusmozart 1 year ago
@columbusmozart we did so that there was movement at all times, this is just kinda static :/

Which order did you guys play the musical? The original order, or chronological?

I've heard that some productions are done in chronological order.
bluebettle 3 years ago
Then that's totally killing the concept, not to mention, a violation of the contract for performance.
columbusmozart 3 years ago
Where'd ya hear that? Not only is it disrespectful to the authors, etc., but it's illegal!

@bluebettle
Which not only kind of ruins the emotional progression, it's totally forbidden by MTI.
