  • so many people are saying this album sucked, but i dont get it.. this is epic!

  • Mmm, I say yes!!!

  • Say no, say no, say no, say - NO!

  • All the members can sing really good (especially daniel and johan!) I never saw that before, this band is too awesome

  • @chenille75

transatlantic it's another good example of that

  • Greatest DVD I've ever bought!

  • This sends so many fucking chills down my spine.

  • In before "one person is x" posts

  • haha

    SAY NO

    YEAH..

  • this isnt my kind of music at all and i think there pretty good :)

  • Say no...

  • favorite band of all times

  • Best song off Scarsick. hands down. well, except for Enter Rain. and Kingdom of Loss. or maybe Spitfall, or Scarsick itself. or maybe..............Fuck! POS rocks!

  • what's up with this one dislike???????????

  • I stood my ground an said "NO!". Have you?

  • If You Love Music, You Love "Pain Of Salvation" -- Masterpiece.

  • great song

  • They are epic. I like everything they have ever played. Hope to see them in Poland again.

  • The fact that there is only one dislike so far surely proves how almost no one could NOT like such a song... Love it!

  • This band is musically/technically miles ahead of many bands out there.

  • let's consider that we didn't like PoS at first sight.. At least, I didn't

the point is that people hear one time and don't like and throw the band in the garbage.. that is sad, but is the true

  • Pure talents...

  • That being said, the latter parts don't seem overdubbed, and they're excellent! My fav Scarsick song!

  • Holy shit, intro main riff looks like it's overdubbed?! I would not expect this from PoS...

  • PoS doesnt shock you with crazy time sigs all the time, to me thats not what being progressive is about. Prog rock is about being different..key changes, using chords that arent used often, abstract song structures (not always having the chorus/bridge in the same place etc..) This is why i love porcupine tree, pain of salvation etc..

  • @AsG1989 They DO have crazy time sigs. They're just less obvious than in, say, Dream Theater.

  • @AsG1989 Imago= something like 19/32

  • @Kisamefan2 I know they can do it, but they dont overdo is like some prog bands do. In my opinion, a good writer writes melodies, and can move you emotionally. The technical stuff is impressive, but i cant listen to a whole album of that stuff.

  • Awesome song, never get tired of it.

  • 2:10

    Nice- old rockers ftw haha

  • They are so much better than dream theater 'they are trully a prog band with no limations . dream theater has the same formula on wvery album so you always here the same stuff

  • @RobinUriah0927 Ya,they are kinda more ambisious , but dream theater is awesome too.

  • @RobinUriah0927

Well, buddy, Dream Theater has been like that since Systematic Chaos. Maybe with the departure of Portnoy they'll be fine...

  • @SpaceDyeDream thats exactly what i thought when i learned of his departure. i am sure that now they will produce a good album and maybe it will lean more towards prog rock as portnoy was the main metal element of the band..

  • @RobinUriah0927 Wait, you say Images and Word and Falling into infinity are the same?

  • the screaming is little ridiculous, but other than that its great. And god do I love the wah wah

  • Geat DVD.

Watch my channel for a song of the new album Road Salt.

  • the bassist does an excellent job don't you think??

  • The tempo and high energy kind of make it really subtle, but there is a checkerboard pattern of call and response (in the prechorus sections about 2:05 etc) with the screaming, lead guitar, rhythm guitar/bass. JH scream while Daniel plays guitar, and then Daniel screams as Johan and Simon play. Intricate, yet so subtle. Musical win.

  • @edthehead83

Damn nice call there. You rock, sir.

  • Yes, thank you! It's the things like that that I try to put into my music.

  • 2:10 Daddy's into prog music lol.

  • Yeah, I really like this version, its alot more intense

  • i didnt love this song till i saw/heard this version. Its amazing

  • 4:51

    wow.

  • kug0t, that´s a live, so normally is better playing faster than cd. in another way people will sleep!!! :P

  • Only small problem I have with this band is Gildenlow playing the guitar. Not that he's bad, no, but I prefer the lead vocalists to be whipping the crowd up into a frenzy and going nuts up on stage but meh...can't complain about the quality of music that these guys put up there

  • This performance seems a little fast... Still, it's their song, not mine.

  • 4:10

    Song of heavens.

  • I think considering their skill level and intensity of emotion, especially live, PoS deserve at least as much recognition as Dream Theater has gotten...

  • They deserve more!

Much better quality of music in my opinion. Especially in the latter years of Dream Theater.

In my mind: "BE" > "Scenes From A Memory"

  • i disagree. Perfect Element is bout equal to Scenes in my eyes

  • I have to agree. Pain of Salvation have gone upward and more creative in their last 3 albums while Dream Theater keep whipping out... more of the same. =/.

Listen to Linoleum compared to Black Clouds. It may be 30 minutes shorter but there's for more creativity in Linoleum heh.

  • @Saintsmaen

as much as I love Pain of Salvation, I have to disagree

sadly, most of Linoleum sounds like a hash of 70s and 80s prog, some alt rock and some modern prog rock to me,,

Daniel is losing it, i hope the album doesn't really disappoint

Dark Clouds is a fantastic album, more melody, heavier rhythms, less progressive yes, Shattered Fortress is one song that could've been avoided, terrible ,, i know its part of the AA suite and all, but it sort of sucked,,

the other songs are def OK

  • Actually I think Shattered Fortress and Best of Times are the two good songs. The other four at times are very bland. Also having listened to Linoleum I strongly disagree.

  • @Saintsmaen I dunno man, for some reason I kept losing focus while listening to Linoleum

that never happens to me while I listen to pain of salvation , even the arguably "driest" album, BE had my undivided attention ,, scarsick was just too good

best of times is super song :) love it,, you didnt like the overdose of slow melody in Count of Tuscany?

  • @sswriter09 I dare say even more ;)

  • @sswriter09 I'm sure they would if they toured in the US and got their name out here more.

  • @sswriter09 Dream Theater, on the other hand, deserve at least as much recognition as Justin Bieber or Korn or any other popular musician, but sadly that's not how this world works.

  • @sswriter09 :: intensity of emotion yes, dream theater have a much more 'wholesomeness' to their sound live, its elaborate and yet wholesome which is awesome, PoS in quite a few live videos have a big problem with being 'tight' and there is the whole 'epic' factor in dream theater's performances that sets them a whole world apart

having said that I must say PoS are still one of my favourite prog rock bands :)

  • @sswriter09 They opened for Apocalyptica a number of times... I'd call that, at the least, a step in the right direction.

  • I love the drumset. So cool. I love the old drummer too, I m so sad he leaves the band.

  • where were all of you guys hiding? pos is my favourite band and everyone keeps telling me how much dream theater kicks their ass.... can't wait for a new album btw..

  • I'm hiding in my bedroom, trying very hard to write songs that good... I'm almost there, just give me a few more centuries

  • those vocal harmonies are SO boss.

  • GODS of prog

  • Daniel I LOVE YOU ç__ç <3

    He's god, holy Christ.

  • please Daniel! do not even think to stop challenging all the so called "good" music out there. you are the greatest!

  • I think I like this more than the studio version, heh.

Great band, or greatest band? <3 PoS.

I can't wait for my Ending Themes DVD to arrive in the mail tomorrow!

  • solid. This is one of my favorite bands, the songwriting, the vocals, the words, the talent is all on point. kings of prog.

  • SAY NO!

  • YEAH! ;)

  • POS totally pwns Dream Wanker in both form and substance lulz

  • substance definately yes. DT is absolutely personal which i love in its own way.

form=POS and DT are definately different giants. hardly comparable.

  • POS > Dream Theater

  • I agree. First DT album rules too, but i prefer pain of salvation. They are more intense, more emotional.

  • Bullshit!

Both of them have their own style and

    their own point of view!

  • Sorry - this was deticated to sa3atsky

  • I LOVE YOU!!!

    UPLOAD MORE!!!!!!!

  • incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Best band ever

  • "NO!" "YEAH!"

  • Best video off the new dvd that i've seen so far (though Foreward was great as well) l I f'in love P.O.S!!!!

  • the tempo.. xD
