Im a chevy guys, and i think jeremy hit this head on. Amazing car on the track, best price. Shitty daily ride. Its a gm thing. My cobalt ss is the same way (for the PRICE!!) Besides, clarkson hates on every countries cars lol
i wish he would drive the c6rs that would of shut him up about how cheaply american cars were made give americans 200k to play with u come out with an amazing car but for the price corvettes are amazing
Just one thing I want to make clear for all those who haven't looked into things very deeply. Jeremy says the Corvette runs on leaf springs. This is true. He says they're like a pram or an oxcart, this is not true. The arrangement he's talking about has the leafs mounted parallel to the vehicle, acting as a spring and holding the wheels in place (kinda). The Corvette uses transversely-mounted composite leafs, acting EXACTLY like coils, but taking up less space and increasing roll stiffness.
He's probley bought and sold a bunch of cars, as we all have. Let's face it though, for the price of a new Corvette any model- you're getting a pretty good deal. He gets to drive the top cars in the world at absolutely ridiculus prices. For the price of this ZO6 you'd get a lot of bang for your buck! For anyone out there that owns one of these beauties, I'm the guy standing on the sidewalk drooling as you pass by- great choice of ride and good luck to you!
That guy has to be one of the world's biggest wankers! I thought he could actually get through a presentation without bagging America or an American car. Funny how the dickhead owns a GT40, and his midget sidekick owns a Mustang. Typical Limy snobs!
This car is a beast just because he is on TV and have a show don't mean he know shit about american muscle cars, who the fuck buys this car for comfort or gas milage, I ride a nos powered R1 motorcycle and no it is not comfy but it go fast as hell like this car....FUCK JEREMY
Apparently neither do you, or you'd know that vettes are not muscle cars fucktard. No sportbikes are comfortable either, they're not meant to be. Secondly what the fuck good is a nos tank on a motorcycle except to go fast in straight lines? I'm betting the sides of your bike tires look like they just came off the showroom floor. Fucking poseur.
@JACKtheRIPP3R189 I got 2 r1's for the record you bitch and have a vid on my page and no the tires don't look like that one is for draggin and roll on racing(gambling)for the street and the other is for corning so suck my dick you punk bitch, mucles cars is what every the fuck I say it is faggot, and yeah it is fast in a straight line gps said 202mph anything else, you boyz kill me hiding behind the mouse pad throwing rocks, went to your page and that shit told me all I need to know about you
You cant even read or write, you're a fucking poseur son and you have been called out. Weak little wannabes like you can never make the grade, you just aren't man enough.
@JACKtheRIPP3R189 You can say what you want an no i don't hit spell check before I send shit on youtube so fuck you, again you talk good shit in a safe place, I do pretend or try and be anything so you can kiss my ass, I am not Rossi on a bike and I am not Ricky Gadson either if you even know who those guys are, I am done with you and you can go play with yourself from this point on, you can call me out bitch im in texas if you around this way then holla at me
iam not american! but i have a ZO6! i never heard the sound he is talkin about! maybe bcoz i enjoy the drive more dont know! and fuel? when i bought it i never cared about fuel! coz simply it is a fast car! i didnt give a shit about fuel! who would car about fuel when they are buyin sport car ? com'on! and it is stock engine (N/A) imagine it with a supercharger!! it is fast!
@noshabibis: I have 2009 Z06. It is easy to get 27 on highway. If I really, really tried, I feel I could get 30mpg or even little more. We are talking tailwind, drafting trucks, taking miles to increase 5 mph, flat road. Never pressing gas pedal to go uphill.
I got 33.05mpg in my 2000 Caramo SS. Using calibrated odometer at distances over 200 miles. Important to go longer distances because of greater accuracy. 50 or 100 miles will not give the accuracy. Also 1984 Imapala - 29.2mpg
The 7.0L 427 in the Z06 is nowhere near the HP output that it could be at. Just tune it and tweak it in the right ways, the thing will easily make 700HP.
@Nick1944 So you're saying Corvette delivers a car with an engine that isn't tuned and "tweaked" the right way...
So effectively they are producing an inferior product according to you because the owner has to tune the engine himself in order to get the full potential out of it...kinda like a very expensive kitcar.
O and no way that thing would produce 700 horsepower without forced induction
@jml8841 Yeah, actually there are MANY 7 liters N/A that produce 700hp. Hell, Lingenfelter even works on them and sells them N/A. They don't get the full potential out of it bone stock, they don't WANT to either. They also have to worry about fuel economy and reliability as well. My dad's 1968 Camaro has 670 HP and it has a 396 cubic inch motor, N/A. Reliability, Fuel Economy balance out with Power. If that motor was made for only HP, the numbers could be a lot higher.
@Nick1944 none of the haters get that."THE FERRARI 430 MAKES THAT FROM 4.3 LITERS!!!" yeah,it's tuned to death and gets 11/16mpg barely better than a h2 hummer
@jml8841 "With new cams, headers, exhaust port work, and a few other minor touches, LG motorsports has pushed the LS7 past the 700hp mark without too much difficulty."
"We got to 690 hp today on BP pump premium fuel, idles smooth at 920 rpm.
@Nick1944 So they basically changed the entire engine with new cams headers and an exhaust. The only thing remaining is the basic engine displacement and cylinders.
@jml8841 your logic is idiotic they already make some of the fastest cars in the world which most euro shit box's are max'ed from the get go yet with a chevy small block you can always go faster if you felt like it not my fault euro shit box's cant handle the same tuning a small block can
@dankebuddha My logic is logical, the fact that you can't handle the thruth says more about yourself than it does about me. Those euro shitboxes outhandle any us musclecar and go a damnside faster. They are engineered to be as fast as they can be so they don't need a back-alley greasemonkey to tune them like a chevy small block.
@jml8841 you logic is biased and according to track records most are owned by Americans cars including the top 2 fastest cars in the world not to mention the whole racing scene period was invented by your so called greasemonkeys so with out people like me you would be driving the kia that you are and the fact that a small block is already as fast as any euro shit box without being maxed it just further stands out better engineering.
@dankebuddha Ha it's really funny what kind of junk comes out of your mouth. Top 2 fastest production cars in the world are US? Please enlighten me as to which us cars they are. The whole racing scene invented by the americns? The first race ever was in France in 1887, the first us race was in 1895. The whole racing scene was dominated by the Germans with their Auto Unions (look it up). Those cars produced upwards of500HP back in 1932 at a time while the US were still driving model T's
@jml8841 their wasent even 2 commercially available cars in 1887 u twit and the fastest cars in the world on the new ssc aero and the venom gt both of which use a chevy small block or in the ssc's case a engine derived from a chevy small block and both are faster then the extremely over priced veyron ss and model t made cars affordable for the world so it's no surprise most of the world had them
@dankebuddha And since when do you need a commercially available car to have a race you idiot. The "new" ssc still hasn't beaten the Veyron SS. The venom GT is still a Lotus (That's right...a shitty euro box) into which they put the V8. And with it's 0-60 in 2.9 secs, it still wouldn't be able to keep up with the Veyrons 2.5. And actually not the entire world had model T's Just the US. I don't know what patriotic bullshit you've been led to believe but the model T was never popular in Europe.
@jml8841 the venom started it life as a lotus but after it's trans formed into a venom their is very little of a lotus left the suspension engine tranny everything except for a few body panels are american and the model t made it possible for the world to get cars buy showing the world how to make them cheaply and reliably.
@cockboy9 Might be nice having 7.0L but i'd rather have a smaller turbo-or supercharged engine that produces more horsepower. GM proved it with the ZR1 6.2L supercharged smaller engine and still 130HP more than the ZO6. BMW and Audi get 500-580HP with 5.0L of engine displacement (all be it with 10 cylinders).
@jml8841 Right, the 6.2 supercharged engine does make more hp with less displacement but...the 7.0 can achieve 26mpg AND does not have the wear and tear of a supercharged/turbo engine
@leadsailz That is true but these kind of cars will generally be used as second or even third cars so the wear and tear won't happen as fast. That's why it's my opinion that your everyday-car should not have an overstressed engine. For example: VW produces an engine here in Europe with only 1.4L of displacement, it does produce 180HP because of a turbocharger (and direct injection) but i bet it would struggle to hit 120.000 miles without needing a complete engine revision.
@cockboy9 Yeah, right. Here we can do that with just 4 or 5 litres. Not lazy sloppy job what you boys do there. But if there is some comparison? Like what does 8.0 L W16 to you Americans?
@pistolzout Nice try, but Sixteen is a concept/prototype car (not in production), so it is pretty hard to compare that one. It's offspring (ULS/XLS) might find it's way to the production line, but equipped with only a V8 or a V12 (which is pretty unusual for an American car)
Still, original Sixteen includes some nice features, like Active Fuel Management, which will use only part of the engine
well, sounded like we were debating on who can build bigger engines, and i gave you one
besides, might as well look at veyron as a concept, not every schmuck can afford it
and i'm pretty sure if i went to Cadillac and offered ridiculous amount of money, they would build me a Sixteen with my name engraved inside, which in a way, makes it an "in production" car
@pistolzout I don't think you'll be able to "buy" a sixteen no mather how much money you have. Cadillac will have to be responsible for the cars that they build (warranty) and i don"t think they will take the chance of building something that lavish in these hard times. The Veyron is no concept, the fact that 99.9% of the people can't afford one doesn't mean that they do not build cars. So by your "theory" all Rolls Royce/Bentley/Maybachs are concepts because not evey schmuck can afford one?
Rolls Royce/Bentley/Maybach's are on average cost around 200-500 thousand dollars, not 1.6 million dollars
and like i said, if i had the money i could "buy" the Cadillac brand, including the BMW, Bentley and the Daimler AG, so what makes you think i couldn't have them build me a car that they already can? everything has a price
@pistolzout Actually it wasn't all about bigger engines with bigger displacement. Using 7.0L as an argument to rip Germans a new asshole (like original poster said) is a bit of a stretch. 6L engines from Mercedes have way more performance and better engineering. Better engineering beats sloppy increase of displacement anytime..
@pistolzout You doubt the greatness of English engineering? If you knew something about cars then you'd realize that Bentley is owned by VW, Rolls Royce by BMW and Maybach by Mercedes Benz. They all have Geman engineering in them. You couldn't buy a sixteen because as i said they won't take the chance. For instance they haven't yet done proper testing with that car...is was a concept so they don't know how it'll be like on a daily basis with real life wear and tear on the different parts.
well, you don't have to really know about cars to know which company owns which brand - God Bless Wikipedia!!!
as for the Sixteen, who cares if the whole car is going to come apart within 2 minutes after being turned on, that's not the point, all i'm telling you is that, as long as i got the money, i can have one manufactured for me
doesn't matter whose engineering is better, if you don't take care of it, it won't last
@pistolzout Well, I would say that 8.0L W16 is a testament of good engineering. It powers the fastest production car in the world.. Actually, the whole car is a masterpiece of engineering, although I don't like the styling.
german engineering is good, but the actual greatness of it depends on the environment it's being used in
i saw how some parts of the bmw would literally melt due to excess heat in other parts of the world - no match to japanese toyota and mercedes was even worse
Im a chevy guys, and i think jeremy hit this head on. Amazing car on the track, best price. Shitty daily ride. Its a gm thing. My cobalt ss is the same way (for the PRICE!!) Besides, clarkson hates on every countries cars lol

well, you don't have to really know about cars to know which company owns which brand - God Bless Wikipedia!!!
as for the Sixteen, who cares if the whole car is going to come apart within 2 minutes after being turned on, that's not the point, all i'm telling you is that, as long as i got the money, i can have one manufactured for me
doesn't matter whose engineering is better, if you don't take care of it, it won't last
