I find it funny that MGS3 has better overall graphics as it was on the PS2 and it still beats the living shit out of a few titles for the XBox 360.

But hey, graphics aren't everything. MGS was always about the story...which is still better than most of the games I see nowadays. Kudos to you, Kojima. You are the Beethoven, the Einstein, the Leonardo da Vinci of video games.

@Overpair First of all, I own a Xbox and I absolutely enjoy the Metal Gear Series. Second, Konami is doing everyone a favor by releasing this on Xbox. It allows others to experience the poetic and awesome story of Metal Gear, and the money received from all of the people who buy the HD Collection for the Xbox can be used to better the game that will be released in the future ( MGS: Rising?).

Don't try to start a Console war, especially since the PS3 and Xbox are both equally awesome.

Of course, I can see why Sony stopped the PS2 playback. A lot of PS2 titles are now being "remastered" in HD, for the PS3. Pure marketing, pretty genius move on their part.

this was actually my first metal gear experience, oh the memories, beat it like 20 times and every time was as amazing as the first. As soon as i finished the credits i just had to play it again :) Then finally i made it to a game stop and purchased MGS2, So stoked (although little worried ) about rising.

call me crazy, but i preferred my ps2 to my xbox360 cos of the titles on it. mgs3, devil may cry 3, and resi evil 4 were all my favs. all 3 of these franchises have become lost and convoluted on the next gen consoles and aren't nearly as entertaining.

I ended up trading in the aforementioned games aswell. IDIOT! Gonna have to buy em back on ebay at a higher price aswell

There are things about mgs4 that are a great leap forward, but in terms of story content it doesnt have as much room to manouvre as mgs3 cos there are so many strings attatched. Don't get me wrong, still a great game aswell. If you removed the movie aspect from each game then obviously mgs4 would be the better of the two

@ioq77 mgs4 is a REALLY good game in the series, but honestly i enjoyed the story in mgs3 a lot more. Granted mgs4 has amazing graphics and alot of polish but the story wasnt as grand as mgs3's was.

The Big Boss arc starting in Snake Eater, continued by Portable Ops and ended in Peace Walker is amazing because it is set within a historical background, but I in no way consider the Solid Snake arc inferior. It has a lot of interesting things that may be fiction, but are based upon real facts. Genes, Memes, and even the background of private military companies. It's more on the realm of science fiction, yes, but very interesting nonetheless.

hey i gotta wonder how this was all done. this from the PC/PS2 version? it's obviously cropped from the unecessary letterboxed borders. so did u like save it letterboxed, then resave it cropped or what? good stuff though. makes me wish this game had a proper 16:9 support. shame cuz this game's very cinematic

@Joshorty It's really simple. Certain TV sets (I have a 42' Vizio LCD) have a cropped feature on their remotes for AVI, COMP and HDMI, so you can set it as 4:3 or 16:9. I still have a Dreamcast and playing Shenmue in widescreen is a plus.

@sherazgt If you want to play this on your PC then use the PCSX2 emulator but i got to warn you it is very hard to do and requires very fast hardware in your PC. It would be better to just get a PS2 or PS3.
