I thought "In buddy's eyes" was her rationalization of why she married Buddy, he still sees her the old way, she is young in his eyes, " all she ever dreamed she'd be, the very best inside of me is every minute there to see in Buddy's eyes"- the possibility of tomorrow being better is the way she is coping being married to the wrong man, and she can live in that fantasy limbo and not deal with the reality that she married the wrong guy - in Buddy's Eyes.
I know the show is a limited engagement, but sure wish they would extend it! Saw it once... and would love to return. It is the ultimate show about, among other things, aging.
@omorado They actually did extend it--till January 22nd. Three weeks longer than it was originally scheduled to run. It couldn't run past that and remain at the Marquis. And to move to another theater, one would have to be found and contracts would have to be re-negotiated. This is, ultimately, what happened, since "Follies" is going to LA (without Bernadette, sadly).
@EveryDayALittleDeath I'm happy for you :) I know that feeling; I met Bernadette back in '09 and I met one of my favorite book authors, R.L. Stine, back in '05. Those are experiences that you really cherish xD
I saw Follies and LOVED it, and met Bernadette Peters, but the most amazing, wonderful part of that day was before we even saw the show. My dad and I ate at Junior's Cheesecake for dinner, and who was sitting at the bar but STEPHEN SONDHEIM!!!!!!!!!! No lie. And somehow I got up the nerve to go and talk to him and he shook my hand! No autographs, but that's okay, a friend of my dad's already got me one. But it was amazing. It was like meeting god, and then the queen. BEST, DAY. EVER.
I saw Follies, met Bernadette Peters, and watched this interview the next morning. I feel like we're just two old pals that keep bumping into each other.
I don't think her face shows any (obvious) signs of plastic surgery at all. I mean, have you seen Lara Flynn Boyle lately? Now that's some bad plastic surgery.

@hybrid22 Early 40's? You don't mean that literally?? You're excluding her face? That woman's face was pulled back so much I would bet her real last name is either "Lee" or "Chang".
I give you her body is amazingly super hot for a woman in her 60's.
Whoopie is such a moron.
