Ofcourse he didn't love Rose and Andie, he loves Elena. And it could neve be someone else.

And yes, probably it started for him as them being a distraction from going after Elena and it made him realize how much he loves Elena.

But in the end I don't think they were just a distraction. He did care about them as friends.

@sweetcristy90 Maybe, but Damon did care for Andie. When he was hurt and she said that she wanted to be there for him or something (don't remember the exact words) he told her to leave because he was afraid that he would hurt her and when she died you could see that it hurt him too.

I can see that it was different with Rose, but I still think he cared for both of them..

She was not a distraction. He probably wasn't in love and probably it started as a distraction, but it certainly ended up as a "half" love story. They've started as friends with benefits and in the end they got very attatched to one another. i truly felt the pain in his eyes when he stabbed her. He would have done anything to save her. She was not a distraction, while Andie looked more like it, more of a girl toy he needed to make out and confess to ;)

I never thought Damon was in love with Rose...I think he enjoyed her friendship, she understood him and she tried to help him see that it's ok to care about people. Rose was not in love with Damon either but she didn't mind being his "special friend". She could see he was in love with Elena.

Now Andie is just a "distraction" for Damon, he has said that. It would be interesting to see how she would behave if not under his compulsion.

Rose cared about him enough to save his life! and the way damon cared for her through the whole werewolf bite thing, and made for her the dream so she wouldnt be affraid! :'( .... yeah, im sure she was just a "distraction" :S I dont know why ian would say that its sad... I wish we could hear Lauren talk about the same thing!

I agree with them both being distractions, but that's been anyone he's been with. He had more chemistry with Rose and he did care about her even if that wasn't his intent. ANdie is his play thing... he manipulates her and he didn't kill her when he was upset only because he wants to be the person elena wants him to be. I get being friends with the actress and her boyfriend, but in terms of the characters Rose had more impact and a better relationship.

No no boo boo dont be comparing rose to andie, and ps, rose wasnt a "distraction" she was himself in female form, maybe she helpd realize how much he actually loved elena, but now hes not as forcive about being wid her, he cared ALOT about rose and really shoud have had the chance to fall in love bc he wud have eventually
