I remember ripping the audio files from the install disk (they were simply .au files renamed) and listening to them while coding my college CS projects. Man - those were the days...
@ArmedZagi Just thought.. there was a teaser for another game that came with Labyrinth. Maybe something about a killer computer on a moon base? Any idea what that might have been? Sorry, 18 year old memories can be fuzzy lol.
@ArmedZagi Are you talking about Under a Killing Moon? That was in a series of games with the character Tex Murphy. Or you may have been thinking of the Pandora Directive which came out after Under a Killing Moon.
I absolutely loved this game. I was 5 or 6 years old when I first played it. When I beaten the game, there was an announcement of the sequel called Labrynth 2: Lost In The Land Of Dreams. Unfortunatly the sequel of the game was canceled.
it's weird but I remember hearing a song from this game in an episode of Family Matters it was from some scary movie the family was watching in the dark and then Urkel bursts in and scares everyone. Don't ask me what episode it was cause I have no idea its been so long now
@mattropolis99 I love the music also but apparently the music wasn't written for the game. It was all licensed stock music so I guess not many people know who the composers are.
Have you any idea of the sound tracks used in the Labyrinth of Time. I had this game with some other electronic arts games almost a decade ago but my parents packed it up and sent both the apple mac and the games to a poorer relative. A pious thing to do I guess. But would really like to know the songs used in the Labyrinth can anyone help thanks :)
@narlzp Just in case you're still wondering about the music (from wyrmkeep.com): "The music was not composed for the game! All the music was licensed from a stock music company. We don't have the right to release the music separately...".
@orangewedges Thanks for letting me know I have gone out of my way when I was small to actually tape record yeap thats right tape record using my radio/cassette player to record the music. It was pretty good quality sound actually.
From what I've heard they won't ever release a soundtrack because its all licensed out, which is a huge shame since it really did make this game work.
@narlzp Was it a collection of 10 EA games? I also still have it for Mac. The games are: Populous II Power Monger Theme Park Syndicate Chuck Yeager's Air Combat Labyrinth of Time Eagle Eye Mysteries in London Around the World in 80 Days (some kiddy adventure game) Some Poker game Some Golf game Enormous value that. There also was a second volume with another set of 10 games, but I never got to buy it. I'd love to get that too, or at least know what was on there.
@schtolteheim Yeap you are spot on!! I love Populous 2. I remember as a kid laughing at all the battle sounds silly me. Power Monger frustrated me I would always die around the fourth or fifth map. Populous you would just keep going defeating the dieties in each round.
@schtolteheim Hey, it looks like we both got Labyrinth of Time from the same pack! I also uploaded videos of Around the World in 80 Days... great value in that collection for sure.
@schtolteheim I had this! "The Top 10 Mac Pack", it was called. Powerpoker and PGA Tour Golf 2 were the others.
I had the other Pack as well, "The Top 10 Mac Pack II". System Shock, Wing Commander III, Super Wing Commander, Peter Pan, The Jungle Book (both Around the World type kids games) are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.
@schtolteheim That's them! Jesus, Shockwave Assault, there was a time I thought I must have imagined that series, until I found the cutscenes on YouTube.
@schtolteheim Here I've been looking for the contents of that package for about 2 months now. Thanks youtube! I played the heck out of some Syndicate and Chuck Yeager's Air Combat. Good times.
Did you get it through a catalog from school? I seem to remember getting SimAnt the same way. Another fine game.
My schools never related to computer/videogames in any way, apart from some pamphlet we got in elementary school with Sonic lecturing about environmental problems.
@schtolteheim I want to say it was put out by Scholastic, chock full of books and software for kids. Came out every couple of months. It wasn't associated with our school, just got handed out there.
Awesome game. I never got to finish it though! I downloaded it for free but it requires a owner name and registration # to get started. anyone know a work-around to this or recommend another way of getting the game?
Honestly at this point, I'd buy it. Some of the original team took the effort to update the old DOS version to PC, and it'd be nice to show them a little support. Besides, they've been promising a sequel for a while but haven't made any headway, and any financial support to that end can only be a good thing. :P
Plus, the original DOS version is pretty hard to find online. The one version I stumbled across seemed like an earlier, lower-resolution release.
@Obscuritory lol i already downloaded the trial straight after I asked, i should have searched for the name earlier lol so ill probably end up buying that. The music is great at 2:42 and quite scary
@phoenixicarus I have the original MSDOS disk, which I took the ISO of and use in Daemon Tools to play in DosBox. It works quite nicely and doesn't require anything like that. It also runs faster than in real MSDOS, since on a virtual CD drive there's significantly less read time. I'd recommend you try doing that. I wonder if people would download the ISO if i uploaded a torrent of it...
This game is so cool... it is a looooong time ago. I'll never end the game and i'm always thinking to do this some day. Is there a dos sim to play this game again under windows vista...? Also Return to Zork was a cool game in this time...

This game is a fantastic gem. Its only flaws being its impractical P&C interface and its very short length.

So much nostalgia. I was 4 when this was released... and it used to be absolutely terrifying for me! :D

I have found the titles of the music names on this game.
These are the titlesof the music in order.
"Intrigue" 0:10-2:41
"The Killing Ground" 2:42-3:40
"Kisses In The Wind" 2:41-5:15
5:16-7:03 is unknown. I will let you know what the title is if I find it.
"The Menacing Silence" 7:04-7:25 (continues on part 2 of the game)

@76Demon67 Expert sleuthing. The fourth tune is Ravages of Time, from the same source (APM Music).

I loved the music to this game. I always wanted to find out who wrote it and get a high-quality copy of it. Fantastic.
I even dug around in the files until I found the raw file for it. You could actually play it back if you set the bitrate correctly.

@DarkComet666
The rest are Shockwave Assault, Wolf Pack, Putt Putt and Fatty Bear, Spaceship Warlock, PGA Tour III.
After some determined research I found clues on the 'MacintoshGarden' website.
The good people there have also uploaded lots of classic Mac games! - none by EA though, due to prohibition.
