Sounds a lot like Shout Shout Knock Yourself Out by Ernie Maresca, who co-authored this song as well (if my poor eyesight is reading the label correctly)
Thanks for the great upload, good quality& sound. I remember when Dion split from the Belmonts. A lot of people really don't remember the Belmonts doing their own stuff and don't realize what a great sound they were. Dion has great talent, but the Belmonts helped make him great. A lot of good music came out of Philly and NY back then. I love doo wop.
@crazybobdj really?! I love old music, what's the station?!? I would love to have old music playing when I'm crusin round the block in my old 1957 Plymouth!!! Please tell me
I was born in 1952. I heard this song, I think, on bandstand, when I was a kid. It's been stuck in my head ever since. I didn't know the title or artist. ..Just bah-bah, bah, & "And Now You're gonna tell me that you do the twist" I work part time as a DJ at an oldies radio station. I was shocked when I stumbled upon this! LIKE!
Thanks for posting this song. Have not heard this for about a year since U-tube removed it for some unknow reason from another "poster". I know that Carlos went on his own later on and had a single but can't remember it.
1960:My Mom bought me this 45(45 cents) I wore it out singing in front of a mirror into my 7" reel-reel recorder all the time dreaming of performing on stage. Sept. 1987: I'm having breakfast w/thee CARLO M. talking about my playing keys/singing in his own band that would also perform w/ Dion.CARLO was also a GREAT drummer. We played many FUN gigs as a duo. Life took each of us down different roads in the 90's.I can only wish him well & ask where he is now. Thanks 4 the memories CARLO. Ciao, Don
@donscaptvideo I'm curious as to where you lived that 45s were 45cents I grew up in NY and the usual price was 89cents but I guess in NY and maybe other big cities things are more expensive The only thing I knew to be cheaper in NY was illegal drugs I guess everything else was more expensive in NY
@fntime now that you mention it I do remember Korvettes in Yonkers I think? and I'm sure other places Anyway I see your point I bought the records in a small store I don't remember 24 cents for gas but maybe 35 cents probably a few years fifference About Justin Bieber I can't agree more
@elamite66 HI-Sorry i didn't see your reply. I remember it was the grand opening of the Conn. Post Shopping Center in Milford, Ct. (1 hr N. of NYC). Mom "let" me buy "Party Lights" & Carlo's song in the NEW Alexander's BIG discount store--R.I.P. I sang along to this into my MONO Sears reel-2-reel It wore out. Then, Sept. '87 I not only met THE CARLO M. I was asked to join his band& performed w/ some great musicians(Wayne, Dana, Steve) & some fellow Italian named Dion. Gee, I AM getting old.
@donscaptvideo Yeah I know where Milford is I lived in Ossining and Yonkers, Westchester county I'm impressed that's some story I had a lafayette reel to reel mono and that's how I realized that my voice was a lot worse than I thought couldn't sing at all like the soldier who can't keep step marching no matter how much he works at it but like I said I'm impressed that you got to play with them years after buying those 45s Claudine clarck 1962 I liked it too I've been old!!! good to hear from you

Boy this brings me back to the 7th grade in 1963 when I brought this single to school for a dance and someone sat on it and broke it. My homeroom teacher Mr. Doucette gave me a dollar to replace it. Funny what we remember.

@elamite66 WIne in the past has always been cheaper in NYC.
Remember Korvettes, from 1965-66, they'd have album sales each
week, you could get a top album for $1.79. Not having much money,
I'd wait each week to buy what was on sale.
Remember 24 cent/gallon gas. Remember the glasses
they gave you. I don't mind paying more for things, but unfortunately
alot of things aren't as good as in the past, music being one of them.
Justin Bieber a canadian non talent, who criticizes America!

I love this song.
First time I heard it.
Funny, I was on the belmonts website and heard this on the playlist.
It's also the first song I listened to when my uncle bought me and my brother to disney a few weeks ago. We turned on the 50's station. It was great.
