Truly amazing... I didn't realize this was among the arrangements in "Through Chord Melody and Beyond". Btw I've got the "Fingerboard Breakthrough" as you suggested. Thank you very much for the inspiration. I've already become better thanks to you. Greg in Germany
What you do works on so many levels. I've been messing about with Body and Soul for awhile trying to settle into a key that works for me for fingerstyle. Lo and behold you've resolved that! If one thinks of fingerstyle arrangements as solving some problems interpreting music for the guitar ,well, you are the master! I come back to your music often for inspiration. You are the consumate player and teacher. This is a great arrangement, beautifully played.
Back for another listen. Your moves beginning at 1:33 are a "show stopper". Very unexpected and clever harmony. 1:57 another "head turner". I like the way you put the melody below the harmony at 2:08. I gotta steal a few of these chord voicings.
This is another master class in arranging. Thanks for posting this.
@gThis song is one of my all time favorites The arrangement is from my new book Through Chord Meody and Beyond as are a number of the performances posted on You Tube Howarduitarpicka1
I just happen to be finishing work up on an arrangement of this classic. I wish I had listened to this before I started. I like the colors in your harmony better than mine. Your use of open strings and voice leading is brilliant.
Where can I pick up materials to learn to play like this? I'm not trying to imply that the book will have the answers, but I've been working on jazz solo arrangments. and I'm interested in what you may recommend.
Thank you for your comment and for favoriting this arrangement on your channel. The arrangement combines version1 and version 2(improv) in my latest book Through Chord Melody an Beyond., Bestm, Howard
Thanx Howard, I do appreciate that......I can only dream of making a guitar sing the way you do.......KEEPON STRUMMIN..DALLAS.... ps...YOU ARE A TRUE INSPIRATION
A true master and a real joy to listen to. Real music that comes to life in your great ability. The guitar sounds beautiful but that's becuse of the gift you have. I wish I could hear you play my 1944 model B D'Angelico........check it out if you have a sec. @TOTOTWICE.....thanx and............KEEPON STRUMMIN.......DALLAS
Is the transcription for this in Just JAzz Guitar mag, or is it part of the new Beyond book. Just read the review, and it sounds like a wonderful document in the study of jazz guitar.
Thank you for those kind words about Body and Soul and my latest book/CD. The arrangement is from versions 1 and 2 in Through Chord-Melody and Beyond.
Nice,. I will pick up that book soon. Strange, I went to BArnes and Noble today and the woman said the book appeared to be out of print. I assume that is an error in their system, but you may want to have someone check it out.
Do you still plan to do the TrueFire cd-rom lesson?
I hope so. Will it overlap with the new book, or be a different set of material?
Thanks for all the great video posts. I have been studying them closely.
very very nice playing :-)

I just wanted to say that your course on truefire.com is pure genius. How you pull the blanket off of countless years of guitar darkness is amazing.
I can't recomend it enough. It will take you out of the dark ages and into the renaissance!
Thank you!
