Why cant I get a bios update at phoenix site. It keeps sending me to a scammy biosagentpro sitre which you have to pay for. This is wrong IMHO they should provide easily available updates from their site
I remember back in the Windows 98 days. I hit the power and went out for dinner. By the time I walked back in the door, the Windows chime was just finishing. Wow, 10 seconds!!

Please excuse my ignorance, but I'm not getting something here: Using a stop watch, in the first example, I'm counting 16 seconds from the moment he pushes the start button on the laptop until I see the Windows Desktop (verses the 3.7 seconds that the Phoenix representative mentions) and on the 2nd example I'm counting 18 seconds. Again, I'm sure I'm missing the point here, but am still confused
They are talking about the time it takes from when he presses the start button and when you first see the any image, if that was a bios computer it would have been much longer.
This is a demonstration of BIOS BOOT UP time. You know the screens you see before you even see the Windows Logo Screen. The time in between system ON and the Windows logo has been dramatically shortened. Think about that, the P.O.S.T. and the slew of other operations before you even get to your OS, done in less then 10 seconds.
