in some people's opinions, deidara wasn't the coolest, but he was certainly the most useful. He secured two bijuu almost by himself and he did give Sasuke quite a beating dispite his unfortunate disadvantage.

Are you kidding? lol all Itachi did was distract team Kakashi from reaching the Akatsuki hideout and use genjutsu on the four-tails Jinchuuriki to make it easier for Kisame to catch. As far as Akatsuki Itachi did next to nothing. However for Konoha Itachi was way more useful.
