Moreover, I have never found the blog/magazine to demonize men as a group or stereotype, but to simply analyze the way in which traditional power relations and assumptions about sex/gender can be seen in our day to day lives. Bitch, you are fantastic, and I love you. I wish I wasn't poor and could help.

A business will be successful if it makes money. This one obviously wasn't. At 0.46 alleging that men are a contributory factor in their failure to run a magazine; a magazine by young women, about women, and for women, is ridiculous. Their target customers must think the mag is dull: hence failure.

If B!tch magazine is having problems keeping contracts with advertisers because of their content, they should address their content, because - more likely than not, if even major advertisers won't place ads in the mag, than the content of the mag is inappropriate even within the context of feminist literature, which widely goes unquestioned on account of it beingun-PC to denounce feminist perspective.

You have to monetize better. Change the title of the magazine to give it a broader appeal (but allowing the content to remain the same). Go to a bank and get loan. Get more money than you need. It might be difficult because of the credit crunch, but you can vitalize the magazine in many ways so you don't have these problems.

They've launched a successful campaign for 500 sustainers (people who contribute monthly). They're currently at 446 sustainers after 3 short weeks.
They've out lasted thousands of magazines over their decade+ existence, and continue to out live an innumerable amount publications.
They've yet to fold when other big names have fallen

The conclusion is simple, In a female dominated publishing industry along with 40 years of anti male legislation, govt sponsored female-victim indoctrination -the Magazine should be selling like hotcakes.
That is unless of course it sucks so bad that even growing swarms of emotionally dysfunctional western women, misfits / lesbians dont buy it.
One of my buddies started & owns about 5 magazine publications in our small city of 70K people. Hes been @ it 20 Yrs b/c he prints good shit.

Having worked in a magazine publication before, big adg accounts throw their weight around. I worked at a for-profit publication. We had to bend to their whims.
Bitch is a non-profit. Due to their ideals, they're careful about who advertises with them for the simple fact that they will not alter content if a big account threatens to pull their account.
The freedom to print ideals; it's something I forfeited at my old job.

Um.......Not Relevant. Big corporate players are not the backbone of small media, and not needed in the least to produce a 40K/issue magazine, let alone a 100K/issue magazine 2 1/2 times larger than Bitch.

You have to monetize better. Change the title of the magazine to give it a broader appeal (but allowing the content to remain the same). Go to a bank and get loan. Get more money than you need. It might be difficult because of the credit crunch, but you can vitalize the magazine in many ways so you don't have these problems.

my god, if every ailing magazine did this can you imagine how many there would be? unfortunate truth of the publishing world: the real money comes from advertising. sell more ads, in a magazine that's had something like 6 issues that would probably be hard but I'm sure they could appeal to men and women with feminist leanings to buy adds. If you've ever worked in magazine publication you'd know that businesses that buy ad space will try to dictate what is written, or threaten to pull their large account if a particular article isn't omitted.
