  • Whats the name of the song in the beginning? The one with the girl singing.

  • @goodfellabeats Massive Attack by Teardrop

  • Paula Radcliffe,Mark Spitz!

  • Found this video by accident but I'm glad I did. 120 days is pretty raw bro. Get some rest and go at it again. Going to subscribe and check out some of the old videos.

  • @goodfellabeats Really? What were you originally looking for?

  • @cicirunner Aw man, who knows. I think I was surfing for some motivational running videos or something. Going through an injury myself and I'm trying to stay in the right frame of mind so I don't get too discouraged.

  • Man I didn't know you had asthma. I use to have it when I was younger, but as I tell many people..."I ran my asthma off"...I will tell you this though bro....I don't know what you believe in...but I strongly believe that it is Christ and Christ alone that can make it so you are able to continue to run the way that you were running before.

  • @RunMiles4Christ I'm trying to stay strong and I'm thankful for every day that I am able to continue.

  • hey cici, when you said you ran 120 straight days, are you saying you did it without the one day off a runner should have a week? Maybe your lungs are fatigued from running, you should give running a few weeks break, possible a month. And take that Sunday off, if your having asthmatic issues try some easy breathing exercises. Temporarily, try to get into Pilates to work on your breathing. It could also probably be your running conditions? Are you geared up for a cold days run?

  • @xcAbe94 Yes, I did it without rest. It was part of my year running challenge. Maybe I will go to yoga or something. It doesn't really get cold in Hawaii, so I don't think the weather is the problem. I haven't really figured out what has been triggering my asthma yet.

  • I hate when I have a problem and I see people who never get injured and have no bodily limits. I haven't been able to run in 6 weeks because of my back. Monday I go to the doctors to find out if I can finally run again.

  • @RawChickenRS Sorry to hear that. Is it your lower back? I remember when I pulled my lower back doing a challenge and I had to run a week in complete pain. It felt like I couldn't stand up straight and there was this invisible force trying to push me to bend over. Hope you hear good news on Monday.

  • @cicirunner Yea it is my lower back. I have spondylothesis, but you probably don't know what the heck that is haha. Part of my lumbar spine slipped out of place and was sliding against the vertebrae. It completely butchered my last 2 xc races and come winter track I could barely walk without pain but I kept running through it. Yea, it felt like something was pushing me to bend it. Hopefully tomorrow brings good news and I can still kick some ass in track.

  • Dude, I have been here with you on this and it has been rough. I also have breathing problems related to allergies and the one thing that works for me when I get symptoms is Singular. It opens up the lungs and airway I usually only have to take is seasonally but it does help. I have been in a real rough patch as well with the running it is really hard after the long days at work to get to it but I have been trying to hang on just doing the minimum 1 mile. I am going to try to keep it up.

  • @Running0NEmpty I have Proventil which is a bronchodilator. I just got put on Advair as well 4 days ago and that is for long term treatment where you take it twice a day even if you have no symptoms. It's a stronger medication. So far both have done nothing. I'm kind of worried. I'm making a video later today to update on things. My streak is still alive at the moment but not be for long.

  • Best of luck with your problem. Sorry to hear that you almost have to stop running. Coming from another run i somewhat understands how it feels having to have surgery last year on my jaw and trying to come back was just miserable. Hopefully you will be able to recover and make some progress towards enjoying and being able to push yourself once again.

    best of luck

  • @xSmo101x Thanks a lot, I'm making an update video soon.

  • All the world is full of suffering. It is also full of overcoming.

  • @DUDE245269 Well said :)

  • You should rest or do easy runs or cross training? But I think you should let your body rest and listen to what it has to say. :P I have the fever right now so I kinda know how bad you want to run again

  • personally take a break. you can always come back to running when you recover. wateva u do im with u. - John

  • @RunningCentral Thanks man, you're a good friend.

  • this is not the end! is this simply a bump in the road. if you loose your motivation then i will lose mine. believe it or not your the reason on why i wanted to stop smoking and run again. you because u reminded me what it was like to live life free! even if you can only cover 1 mile a day. damn it, your still running and thats the point! right? just run my friend. dont be afraid to only run 1mile a day for a week. this will rest your body the correct way i believe instead of just stopping

  • @KodiakRunner I'll make an update video soon.

  • I've run 14km this week... (about 8 miles)

  • @philipnewmannz Nice job. Do you constantly keep track of all your mileage?

  • @cicirunner I have a GPS track stick that keeps track for me. The data is then put into a graphic program and spits out how many KM I have run.

  • Try to take your inhaler before you run. thats what i do. It works good for me.

  • i have asthma too and i run...i hope i won't end up like this

  • @mrflipshyde Don't worry about it. I think it's because I have been running every day with no rest. My asthma is usually controllable.

  • i may not know exactly what you're going through right now bro, but i know that feeling of frustration. my grandpa has been doing poorly so i'm trying to spend every waking moment there with him so i'm going to bed at like 4 in the morning every day. twice this week i went to sleep after sunrise. i'm already mentally and physically drained. we may struggle this saturday chris, but we just have to have the guts to never give up. good luck buddy, i'll see you there.

  • It is tough to see you like this. Whatever you decide best wishes.

  • @Winston408 Thanks, stay tuned for my update video.

  • I have asthma too and have run since grade 2 until last year (grade 9), when I quit for rowing. In any particularly hard rowing session I will have a small asthma problem as well, but there's a type of Chinese flower/plant that is only harvested in the uppermost regions on the highest mountains in China, that is meant to help with endurance and oxygen intake. Some sherpas (mountain guides) will boil it into a soup. Just if you're looking for a last resort it might not actually do much.

  • @jeffhou3 Interesting idea. I'm going to talk to the doctor again and maybe get a referral to see a pulmonologist.

  • You can just jog a mile tomorrow and see how it goes for your race too.

  • I feel for you brother. Whatever you decide, I'm with you. The streak may die, and you might not win your relay race, but when you get your asthma under control you can fight another day.

  • I am so sorry! That sucks, asthma is one of the hardest things some runners deal with. Sending you my best wishes and I hope it gets better. If you think you can continue at 1 mile a day, do it, but if you need a break then no one is looking down on you for it. Good luck.

  • I know how you feel man. When I had my hip stress fracture it pissed me off so much. As I was pushing my body through pain on the elliptical tons of scrubs were going 1/4 of the pace with no injuries. Part of the sport is injuries, sadly enough, and only the best of us bounce back and keep kicking ass. And you are the best of us.

  • Some of the worlds best athletes have asthma, but i think u ned to rest.

  • @Bionicrecovery Really? Do you know of any off hand?

  • It's your body telling you that you need rest. Take some time off and you'll be back at it. 2-3 weeks.

  • Hang in there my friend. Struggling and overcoming weakness is what builds character. If you had everything easy your whole life, then you wouldn't be the person you are today. If you feel like you need it, take a break and relax for a bit though. As distance runners, we develop an uncommon level of mental toughness. The problem is that it sometimes can make you push your body too far. Even professional athletes usually have an off season where they let their body recover. Have a good one!

  • @RamblinAround I agree with your rationalization.

  • Just take a rest bro. What you've accomplished is something, that the average human would fear to even think about. Give it some rest and you will be back to normal.

  • I hate to see you down like this. Maybe you should give your body a rest for few days or a week since you've been running everyday.
