  • Watch me air-drum to this.

  • Dude.... This is the one of the single greatest solo I have seen, it is on cue with John Bonham's solos. You are amazing. If I had a band and I knew who you were, you would be my FIRST choice for a drummer, no exceptions. Rock on, man.

  • Awesome drum solo!! From one drummer to another..hats off to you

  • you got some good chops there Bud.That was a kick-ass drum solo. I didn't see a double bass, are you using a double pedal?

  • theres no double bass cause he keeps the high hat going... so it must be a double pedal

  • great job man... Bonham is my favorite rock drummer. I agree with allpimp, if he was around, he would liked your performance...

  • ummmmm!! greats

  • yah drummers real good but the guitar is bad

  • drummers kick ass

  • drums are great!.. you sound great!! but dude, you need to change your guitar player!!!.. he simply SUCKS!..

  • True but then who don't suck when trying to follow Jimmy, but your right the drummer could go somewhere the guitar dude can go home...LOL

  • man this guy is good

  • Ah parce qu'en plus t'es québécois!?!? Bien tabarnak est bonne celle là, t'es l'best!

  • You are EPIC! I'm sure that you have Bonham blood in your veins :P

By the way, did you use a double pedal or a single one?

  • he used a double kick, by the looks of it

  • true.. he stopped using the hihat pedal..

  • really captured the spirit there

  • you really learned to play like Bonzo!

  • That's tight.

  • Tight is a word i'm still fighting for...

Thanx a million for your comment

    ...

  • nice chops brother :)

  • Always dreamed and wished i had a kitchen full of chops...

  • Nice drum work here...definately captures the sprit of Bonham...fuck the guy who says you can't do a good cover in tribute to Bonhan or Zeppelin....it always takes BALLS to try to cover Zeppelin that's why many bands do not.

  • Bonham is knowing how to tune

    big drums without P.A.(Sound System)

It means going back to school,

    drum and sound wise...

    New drummers use Toontrack's Superior 2.0 like i do,and i acknowledge that,

No Virtual drummers compare to Bonzo...

    Afford a set like Bonham's

    and experience...

  • That was epic, bonham is a god, and that was a beauty triute to him. check out my version.

  • Man that was top notch...that crowd had no clue how solid that was

  • Nice job drummer...

  • sick sick sick sick sick sick sick !

  • damn that was nuts

  • thats a pretty sick solo. but i dont appreciate covers. why would you cover moby dick? come on, write your own groovy riff, and put a big drum solo in the middle of it.

  • You are right...i will work at it.

In this video, the song Moby Dick

was requested by the bar owner...

  • He doesnt even have to write it, just cover any song, lol thats what moby dick is, a cover of the instrumental with a drum solo in the middle

  • pretty damn good!!

  • good drums solo.

  • faster please.

  • think about this on rockband!

  • I would love it

  • due the bonham family rules... best drummers of all time...

  • That was AWESOME!!

  • needs more cowbell

  • My comment was in response to Brainman94's comment below.

  • bravo bavo!!!!!!!!

  • Nice fuckin' chops man.

    Great stuff.

  • Yeah...!! wery good...!!!

  • Why do drummers look like they are chewing gum?

Are they counting beats or or is it a breathing exercise?

Ive seen a few guys doing it!

  • yeah its kinda counting beats and everythin but i try to keep my mouth shut when i drum and ive been doin good

  • In john Bonham's case it was a combination of alcohol and coke. In the studio versions of his beats you can here his jibberish before a few songs. I had a drumming buddy who would sing his beats; Boom, badada retatat!

Sometimes i might sing along with the song, but never with a mike...lol. Every time I try to sing, someone puts sticks in my hands for some reason???

  • yeahh very very good

  • the real drummer of led zepplin is the best drummer in the world... except hes dead... but still the best... great solo

  • oh please, he's a great drummer, and i mean GREAT, but guys like buddy rich make his technique look childish. world's greatest drummer wasn't a moniker he carried lightly.

  • in fact, buddy rich was bonham's hero, among many other greats.

  • he was also neil peart's idol, another drumming great that looks up to him.

  • very true. haha, i'm pretty sure every drummer idolizes buddy rich.

that being said, check out the short interview with bonham in 1980, where the host says bonham is "rock's greatest drummer" and bonzo firmly repudiates the claim. such a humble guy. my favorite drummer. but as he says himself, not the best.

  • that's right. the guy from dragonforce is the best. playing the same beats over and over again for 7 minutes must be pretty tough. lol.

i saw that interview. i can't believe he and moon died within 2 years of each other.

  • the band is a joke but the drummer knos his shit

  • Probably one of the best Moby Dick/Bonham based solo's I've heard. Great job

  • this is actually the closest thing to the actuall performance that i have ever seen

  • this cover rocks!

  • this is FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome

  • Very good rendition!

This drummer definitely has a ton of passion and a great perception of rhythm!

  • Some people are born with the groove and beat of the drums, others arent, for those who have the beat theres not even a second thought put to it, its a feeling.

  • Might I add, John Henry Bonham has been my idol as a drummer ever since I started playing percussion. There is one thing I have to add to this Video discussion, this guy actually got John's groove that is next to impossible to do so my hats off to this drummer awesome job. So what if he used doubles he got John's groove.

  • gets to the same place with different gear, I call that a great cover.

  • I don't get why everyone is always saying lose the double bass I mean I know Bonham used a single pedal but are you expecting everyone to have as fast of a foot as him I mean they are just playing their style and adding a double in their cuz that's what they like and want to play

  • Good Call dude, I mean this is a totally different guy performing his own solo. Why should people tell him how to play his own solo?

  • thanks I mean if you are trying to replicate Bonzo then lose the double kick but most people just try and play their own style and if it includes double bass then who cares

  • It is very hard to create feel when you are going too fast. When I figured that out I got rid of my extra pedal and have improved exponentially. Look at all the Zep songs that people say have the most feeling...the slow ones-Levee breaks/Kashmere/fool in the rain etc. Fast can be good, but the best is slowed down. John had a fast right foot, but his greatest attribute was a perfect timing/striking force combo. John actually used a double base in early practices and found it to be way too much.

  • dude rocks

  • the drummer know is own... really good job!

  • very good indeed nice performance! but loose the double pedal man it don't do Bonzo any justice! but other than that well done mate

  • i like ur little roll with the rotary toms,if that was what it was, it sounded like neil pearts on yyz

  • rock on drum brothha

  • why are u ppl hating on the drummer ... that was damn fuking good... lmao like really good ... i mean that songs hard on drums n to play something bonham played... u have to be good

  • awesome job

  • awesome!!!!!! somehow i think you should be in another band -put yourself playing on here forget the others.

  • Dude....that effin rocked!

  • yeah! i live there

  • Great Drummer.

  • wonderful drummer. way too good for the lame guitar player!

  • Cool!

  • fucking awesome solo, good job

  • Man you rock so hard!

  • HA....Peppers

    nice work

  • Pretty nice playing, like the dynamics!!

Your cyms sound wicked are they Paiste??(the best)very nice sound!

  • Imagine if this guy could play Moby Dick and only Moby Dick, nothing else?

    Seriously, thats really really good!!

  • Thats pretty damn good.

  • respect bro! :)

  • i really like the drummer, not bonham but more funky! good one man!

  • Dude that's freaking sick. Great job

  • class

  • FAT ZEPPELIN ROFL!!!!

  • Nice one man, you are good! Get a bigger bass drum fro that bonham sound :)

  • the double bass takes away from it, but hey man, fuckin great job

  • yeah you're right, shoulda used single pedal only...that was one of the things that was so impressive about Bonham, his right foot speed... so using the double kinda takes away from that, but still really good man... takes balls to attempt that song what with the solo and all

  • Awesome

  • muy buena interpretación... !!!

  • Wow...man that was sweet.

  • well played that man.

  • wow man, thats impressive

    very nice

  • great job,but you failed to keep the hi-hat going:( bonham used it the majority of the time, not just occasionally.

  • Thats why this is called a "Cover"....

It's not the same as the original 100%....

  • meh the cover was prety bad...nice try though

  • this guy is fuckin good

  • I don't think he would have done too much different. His right leg was fast enough alone.

  • Also, this is the best Moby Dick cover I've seen non-Zeppelin.

  • True Bonzo never used a double bass pedal, but he did use double bass drums occasionally.

  • Carmine Appice had Bonham

    endorsed with Ludwig...

Bonzo's free first Ludwig drumset was...

    2x26inch bass drums,18,16,14 toms

    in natural maple color.

What if John Henry kept the 2 kicks?

  • this is excellent..there's a great bonham feel to it, which i should imagine is extremely hard to capture. The guys triplets are spot on..i'd give him eight for great effort.

  • CARAJO!!!

  • the technicalities didnt flow with the groove, but, this has to be the better moby dick on youtube.

    So many people try

  • I think, by now, no matter what Robert Plant says, that Bonzo would have a double pedal if he were still alive. This dude is good tho, and he has taken a bit from many of the different 'Zeppelin' versions of the song; very cool.

  • i give him a 7

  • good feel , great job man........

  • John bonham didnt use a double bass pedal.

  • This is very good, but it doesn't really sound like john bonham. He never used a double pedal. But this is still very good.

  • AWESOME!

  • brilliant well done pullin it off

  • This is actually very good. I don't like the double pedal on the bass drum though. Also, you need a ching ring on that hihat!! Really pretty awesome. If you want to see the best JHB impersonation ever do a search on "bonzonishy". Japanese guy who is JHB reincarnated!!!

  • Youtube search bar... type... John Bonham Moby Dick Tribute... Soundtrack is Russel Labadie... playing a set of Orange Vistalites Ludwig Amber 26,18,16,14 Tympanis were 28,23 Gong was 28 Paiste were 2002 - 24,20,18,16 i have in my house's basement... It's a year younger than his drumset...
  • its not out of tune it drop d

  • where you using a double bass pedal? cause bonham didnt.

  • its sound like its in the wrong key. otherwise great job!

  • You'r great, but you just dont sound like Bonzo, as the guitarist is far from Page´s sound.

  • You are right...

Yamaha Maple Custom drums will never sound like Bonzo's Ludwigs...

    Check out...in youtube search bar,

    John Bonham Moby Dick Tribute

The soundtrack of that diaporama was my Ludwigs,

    Thanks for the comment...

  • joder, yo de mayor kiero tocar asi

  • fucking good!!!!

  • hardcore bonham fan here...PLEASE tell me you kick it with ONE foot!!excellent job!

  • Wow dude... nice nice nice! I'm putting this on DrummerConnection (dot com) if you don't mind!

  • No problem...thanks for the comment!

  • Nice hands, my friend.

  • yeah, lame guitarrist. but nice bonzo work

  • Wow man your good.

  • Awesome dude- that's a fun song to play and you really did it justice.

  • Thanks dude, i really appreciate

  • Nice job but the guitarist is playing it wrong.

  • Wow! a fucking great solo,he nails it all the way.

  • Hey Look! David Crosby on Bass!

  • dude who played this - kudos big time, you are freakin amazing, no doubt, but to all those who compare him to bonham, you really cant because bonham started everything we know today, and no one, ever, can recreate that.

  • ok for one, the guy is using a double bass drum pedal. john bonham used a single ludwig speed king bass drum pedal, but played it as fast as a double, which makes him amazing, not to mention the fact that he tuned it so tight that keith moon couldnt play bonzos set. this guy is good, yes, but so many people can play like that nowadays, bonham's material was all his own and at the forefront of rock drumming and that is why he is considered the best drummer that ever lived.

  • and what the fuck is your point? hes playing a bonham song, of course hes gonna play it like bonham you asshat. who's to say that this guy doesnt have his own innovative style? get the fuck over yourself and give him some props.

  • BYt far the Best Drum Solo I'v Seen on Utube Yet

  • holy mother of god!!!

  • KICK ASS!
