From information found in Massei's report about the time the victim's second phone was found, I found numerous lies by the postal police related to the police saying they arrived at the apartment before Raffaele called the police's emergency phone number. Also I found other lies in the reports. Google injusticeinperugia to find the skinny about this fiasco some call justice. I'm sure the authorities would say the lies are only mistakes but in my opinion they are lies.

Mignini desperately needed an arrest and conviction, AND FAST, because he was under indictment for his prosecutorial abuse in Florence two years earlier. No Sollecito, no knife, no 'murder weapon', hence no case. By the way, Mignini is NOW saying that Amanda wasn't even in the room ... !!

In general European justice is farrrr more lenient than American justice. If this had happened in Texas then she might have got a much worse sentence. It's a very sad story, but if she did murder - there is a consequence. I'm sure she wouldn't have been found guilty unless there was significant evidence against her. If it was committed without malicious intent, then the conviction should be reduced to manslaughter. OR maybe she is innocent, but frankly I think that is doubtful.

re Knox's change of story post-interrogation. this is skipped over very quickly and justified by stress. it has maybe 3-6 lines of text covering the fact that Knox initially said she wasn't there, then said she was, then said she wasn't again and even less dedicated to the fact that she tried the ol' "blame the local black guy" tactic. no matter what stress a person is under its simply implausible to "dream" the presence of your boss. no explanation is offered for this....
the fact that the website states it solved the crime itself only casts further doubts on its credibility. "Rudy Guede murdered Meredith Kercher", it claims, "and he acted alone". Meredith was young and healthy and had earned a yellow belt in karate but as per this site he managed to pin down both her arms and slit her throat at the same time. does Guede actually have three arms? if so that would explain a lot but if not then its pretty much a physical impossibility....
the site makes much of the fact that the amount of Meredith's dna found on the knife is small. RS's explanation in court for the presence of the dna was an accidental cut he gave Meredith whilst cooking at his apartment, the problem being that Meredith had never once been there. contrasting with his version, the defense again blame contamination. omitted is that RS loved knives, had one mounted above his bed and carried two every day wherever he went (by his own admission)..

-the jury has to give reasoning for their verdict (so you dont get OJ style verdicts)
-if the reasoning mentions anything other than the FACTS ie media BS the appeal overturns the conviction
-there are 2 judges on the jury panel great because studies show that juries are often confused

The Massei report on the Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito case does not refer to any media gossip - this would have been cause for appeal and often the defendant is found not guilty on appeal if that were the case!
The jury was not sequestered but they did not refer to the media in the 427 pages of reasoning that they provided!
It was purely based on the facts, the science and the evidence!

From information found in Massei's report about the time the victim's second phone was found, I found numerous lies by the postal police related to the police saying they arrived at the apartment before Raffaele called the police's emergency phone number. Also I found other lies in the reports. Google injusticeinperugia to find the skinny about this fiasco some call justice. In general European justice is farrrr more lenient than American justice. If this had happened in Texas then she might have got a much worse sentence. It's a very sad story, but if she did murder - there is a consequence. I'm sure she wouldn't have been found guilty unless there was significant evidence against her. If it was committed without malicious intent, then the conviction should be reduced to manslaughter. OR maybe she is innocent, but frankly I think that is doubtful.

re "lies and misinformation" section, nearly everything here is irrelevant and serves only to discredit the Italian media etc. The irony is that many of the journalistic devices cited as "lies and misinformation" are actually employed by the website itself . eg re Guede - " It was reported that he had a knife in his possession at the time of his arrest". not "he had a knife" when arrested but "it was reported" he had - just enough suggestion to cast doubt and suspicion....

re Knox's change of story post-interrogation. this is skipped over very quickly and justified by stress. it has maybe 3-6 lines of text covering the fact that Knox initially said she wasn't there, then said she was, then said she wasn't again and even less dedicated to the fact that she tried the ol' "blame the local black guy" tactic. no matter what stress a person is under its simply implausible to "dream" the presence of your boss. no explanation is offered for this....

the fact that the website states it solved the crime itself only casts further doubts on its credibility. "Rudy Guede murdered Meredith Kercher", it claims, "and he acted alone". Meredith was young and healthy and had earned a yellow belt in karate but as per this site he managed to pin down both her arms and slit her throat at the same time. does Guede actually have three arms? if so that would explain a lot but if not then its pretty much a physical impossibility....

the site makes much of the fact that the amount of Meredith's dna found on the knife is small. RS's explanation in court for the presence of the dna was an accidental cut he gave Meredith whilst cooking at his apartment, the problem being that Meredith had never once been there. contrasting with his version, the defense again blame contamination. omitted is that RS loved knives, had one mounted above his bed and carried two every day wherever he went (by his own admission)..

As someone with in depth knowledge of the commonwealth legal system I must say that from the little research that I have done on the Italian system reading about this case. It is slow but infinitely better!
-the jury has to give reasoning for their verdict (so you dont get OJ style verdicts)
-if the reasoning mentions anything other than the FACTS ie media BS the appeal overturns the conviction
-there are 2 judges on the jury panel great because studies show that juries are often confused

There are countless problems with the jury system that is much the same in the UK and US! The study of shadow jurors alone demonstrates that the Italian juror having two judges on the jury panel - can be extremely helpful
Jurors require some technical guidance on the often confusing procedures !

Guidance is provided by judges in the UK and the US - but once the jury are in their room, there is no way for anyone to be sure that they have understood what exactly is expected of them from a legal stand point.

The judges that sit on the jury on Italy are able to oversee the deliberations and make sure that hearsay and media gossip is not taken into consideration when they are reasoning
Also by the Italian system there needs to be a written reasoning of why the verdict was delivered - this means that any mistakes are cause of appeal - US and UK do not have this!

The Massei report on the Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito case does not refer to any media gossip - this would have been cause for appeal and often the defendant is found not guilty on appeal if that were the case!
The jury was not sequestered but they did not refer to the media in the 427 pages of reasoning that they provided!
It was purely based on the facts, the science and the evidence!
Another FANTASTIC aspect of the Italian system is this reasoning report! The verdict is explained!

Giselle if you are willing to lie about my ever saying that I am a hot shot Italian Lawyer, what else are you willing to lie about? Just curious. Are your arguments so weak that you have to invent stuff? If you can point to any post where I ever claimed to be an Italian lawyer I will go to every board related to Knox and publicly acknowledge that I made a false claim. Otherwise, you are simply showing another example of your arguing in bad faith.

You google your info, Giselle. And you google badly, at that. There is no shame in googling in the law profession. There is no shame in pulling a book off the shelf. There is no shame in entering into a free ranging conversation. These are some of the necessary prerequisites to lawyering. The truly Hollywood elements to this case were those drammatizations by the prosecution.

Why do you feel the need to say nonsense like "infinitely better" -- do you see no value in setting bail, in plea bargaining, in jury sequestering, in separating triers of law from the trier of fact? You do not sound particularly qualified to judge whether one system is "infinitely better" than another.

Also the Italian appeal court can review the facts of the case - Im not sure whether I agree with this as it should really only be the jury that decides on facts but in Knox' case this will be to her advantage
What I most appreciate about the Italian system is that technical errors on behalf of police do not break the chain of evidence putting a dangerous criminal back on the street! these are the loopholes that lawyers use in commonwealth countries to defend their clients!
& NO death penalty!!

US trials & juries ? Ridiculous shows x media that sentenced thousands of innocents to death penalty and in which wealthiest accused who can afford the most expensive lawyers are usually found not guilty by obtuse juries ( and thanks God in Italy we lack in both ! ) .
So I think that the US justice truly appears to be not worthy of a western world civilized country and the US media should stop complaining, shouting & behaving like brainless nationalistic chickens

cronic abuses & malfunctions & misconducting by different states' crime police who often deliberately manipulate witnessess and evidences to make anyone look guilty , their system of justice is a 3rd world and a shamefull one , an example of how no to do if we want to find the real guilty of a murder and put him on trial.

USA has such a powerful Army & many weapons , but I wouldn't put them among best countries in murder cases
solved classification, despite all the advanced technologies available x their federal authorities .
The truth is that their system of justice based upon specific state criminal laws, juries made only of citizens who of course have no knowledge of law & evidences and they just trust the lwayers' bad or good oratory ( depending on how expensive he is )

The comments directly below show what a good job the Italian prosecution did of character assassinating Amanda Knox with deliberate leaks of misinformation to the press. Most of you don't bother to follow the case or do research to the extent that I do; or you'd see how this image was created. There is no forensic evidence - the whole case is based on a freaky theory. Prosecutor Mignini is obsessed by lurid satanic-sexual murder theories as his recent conviction for abuse of office has proven.

This is disqusting, how americans sympathise because she is in prison. Amanda knox is guilty and extremely pathological in her actions. Meredith Kerchers family have the joy of knowing their daughter was murdered by sociopaths in a truted european country. Amanda has this solitude to dwell on her actions, hope time goes very, very slow.

Knox's female roommate refuses the advances of the black guy. #3. Black guy feels sexually rejected & humiliated in front of 3 attractive white people. #4. Comforts his wounded ego by whacking the roommate. #5. Italian police want to scapegoat the American hottie & employ confusing & intimidating tactics on Knox. duh

If she had been my daughter, I would have fought like mad for her also. I also would have sat her ass down and demanded to know why she did it, because she did, and is now paying the price. I would sell my expensive home and plan visits to italy for the rest of my life. I would also issue an apology to the Kercher family for their horrible loss.
