  • Love the message of this song. I can't stand it when people just stand around & let evil flourish 'cause they don't want to rock the boat. I'm the type of person who can't not say anything and it has cost me alot at times.

  • I like the song . But that video made about as much sense as the Obama stimulus plan.

  • I dont care what you call it, its still be The Alan Parsons Project to me, >:P

  • great song

  • all the times i see genesis an pink floyd hog all the limelight, i wonder, how did we forget the alan parsons project, these guys are like the testament of thrash metal, way too underrated man, way too underrated.

  • 17 people tried to turn it up but something shorted out and their houses burned down.

  • +++great voice and music+++

  • .... René Magritte doesn't have the chance to see this video, but surely he may be pleased to see many of these images that were previously conceived by his amazing mind...¡ thmbs up for the Director.. and thanks for sharing it.

  • Wonder if there is a hint to TOMAI in this video...

  • @ 0:53, I HAVE THOSE SAME EXACT SUNGLASSES ON MY HEAD RIGHT NOW!!!!! they are Foster Grants

  • people just need to take time out to listen to them!

  • Windows mariage célèbre avec google

  • Attention Billes Gates Ourson kabyle

  • Sitting on fences ,,,,is not good

  • video sucks big time - the music and message are awesome.

  • @AMASSEY1000 WHATS WRONG WITH THE VIDEO TELL ME PLS.

cos this video is amazing compared to videos of a band lip synking to their song with lots of mascara on or giving birth to guns or tits and asses shaking.

u miss the point of the message. im sorry for you.

  • one of my favorites: but I have so many, same with LRB

  • the best

  • lol

  • Wow! Great work at combining appropriate imagery with the message being delivered through the lyrics. Folks around the world are certainly beginning to Turn It Up! The time has come. The Fourth Turning is upon us.

  • what is coming? can you elaborate

  • someone farting at 0:38 !!!

  • The end was funny LOL

  • I got to see them in concert in Portland, Oregon. As much as a fan I am I had no idea of this song, but was so gratedful to hear it 3rd row from the front.

  • I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!

  • Does anybody know: Did Storm Thorgerson work on this video?

  • Nocsak, nocsak Chris Thompson?

  • Great tune. I really needed to hear it today. It's just what I needed to hear.

  • Espectacular, un juego de misterio e imaginación con un toque de surrealismo en los contenidos secuenciales de esta producción

  • the ending was funny as hell

  • OMG these words are so true!!!

DOWN WITH THE ILLUMINATI NWO FREAKS

  • does it really matter what the band calls itself? Absolutely freaking great music period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I saw butt bobbles

  • LETS ALL LIVE FOREVER.

  • Yes, you are right, but of course the album "Try Anything Once" is an "Alan Parsons" album, not a APP album. Still, listen to it for itself. EW has put his own (brilliant) stuff out, but we have to accept that they are not collaborating anymore.

  • To Robbin. It was wrong. No more lies. I have turned it up. Goodbye.

  • beautiful & powerfull song

  • Technically there were lots of Alan Parsons Projects. He considers each album the project, not the people working on it. This album "Try Anything Once" was the first one he tried without help of the late Eric Woolfson. I believe Eric went on at this time to turn Gaudi [the last Project] into a stage performance or something in Europe.

  • One of my favourite tracks from the ALAN PARSONS solo career! Great video too!

  • Aah the awesomeness of the Alan Parsons Project!

  • I've listened to AAP for 30 years had have all their releases, but the only song I got into in 'Try Anything Once' was 'Oh, Life', until now. I'm really getting into 'Turn It Up'. Excellent! It makes that album even better.

  • Psychodelic and at the same time deep and fabulous... That's the true music

  • Amazed~I have a playlist and this is in... Also, new rules: Thinking Aloud is allowed! LOL

  • Hope you like this one ,and thanx again, Brian Smith xx :)

  • Hope you like this one ,and thanx again, Brian Smith xx :)

  • When I was little, my dad would always play Alan Parsons in the car. I would always look at the pictures with awe. They were mysterious...uncommon. And then one day I came across this video, bringing those mysterious pictures to life! Some say this doesn't match up to the music...but I feel like there's an equal message in the artistry of each segment of film that goes perfectly with the music.

  • that's the trouble with quite many, just sit by the sideline and do nothing even though you know what to do...almost all aspects of life, people and "people" just across your shoulders.

  • This is per definition NOT a song by "Alan Parsons Project", as mentioned.

This song is by "Alan Parsons band".

One of the differences is that co-founder_of_ Alan_ Parsons_ Project/song_ writer Eric_ Woolfson isn't present on this song/record.

  • if you translate spanish-english the information:

Taken from the album Try Anything Once, the band's first album after the demise of The Alan Parsons Project

  • I like the opening scenes of New York City in about 25 years.

  • Fantastico!

  • thanks for posting

  • music is a powerful media, when the voice of the common man is heard then maybe we will stop going to war

  • ...I was looking for this video for years,,,!Thanks,,,, ; )

  • un 10!!

  • Bizarre, but I really like some of this imagery. Very Pink Floydesque.

  • @Noelegy Alan Parson war sound Ingenieur bei PinkFloyd :-)

  • this video is directed by Storm Thorgeson , the same person who created the albums covers of pink floyd

  • @Noelegy Allan Parsons produced Pink Floyd before crearting the " Alan Parsons Project " !

  • @Noelegy they still are far ahead of present musicians, they are just brilliant and we don't have many like them now unfortunately

  • @Noelegy Of course... If you read the credits on the CD, it's the same team that's been doing all the artwork in PF and APP

  • @Noelegy

It's probably no co-incidence that this is Pink Ploydesque. Alan Parsons was the sound engineer for several of Pink Floyd's definitive albums.

  • Alan Parsons has been one of my favs since I was in High School. We're talking 1970's. I knew I was listening to something special even back then. How many times have you sat with headphones on and just zoned out listening to this. Almost better than hypnosis or drugs.......ummmmmmmmm.....

  • I think people simply listen but, they don't realize Alan Parson's Project that this band, these guys were ahead of their time ... at least ahead of the *time - messages* about the Future which they convey. That *time* is a lot closer than you probably think. They tell of the new paradigm and they portray it quite clearly in every one of their songs and videos. Pink Floyd tells the end of one paradigm and Alan Parson's Project tells of the next. It is coming,

    Peace.

  • lakotabob- in total agreement with you. Excellent point. This is a great song and video, too.

  • @lakotabob I smell, where your, fartin, from... Time is, meaningless, in the moment...

  • @upthcreek Is that a Christopher Walken impression?

  • @WalkThePath87 hahaha " ingognito... "

  • @lakotabob SO True

  • An ability to create cutting edge music doesn't mean one can easliy produce a visual masterpiece.

The Beatles produced no cinamatic wonders 'though they did have a few moments of video genius.

I do enjoy Alan Parson's video "Don't Answer Me" with its comic book motif.

  • One of my favorite Parsons songs. Somehow his videos never rose to the level of his songs.

  • Brilliant stuff - I wish they would release a DVD of a lot of the post - 'project' songs/live concerts

  • AMEN 2 THAT=)

  • I know what it means so let me advise you: never let YOU be barbecued under water by anyone.

    ANY-ONEdead nor alive!

  • MARAVILHOSAMENTE, MARAVILHOSO...

  • Some of the scenes in this look like the album cover for Delicate sound of thunder (Pink floyd)

  • Has anyone else ever heard the story that Alan was offered a percentage of royalties from Dark Side of the Moon.. But apparently he wasn't all that impressed by the album, and decided to just take a straight fee..for his services. D"OH! Although with his prolific output of quality music, he would appear to not need the money. One can only imagine how much he didn't get. .. Dark Side being released..then re-issued as it has been in so many formats over the years.

  • and it being on the billboard top 100 for decades

  • Pink Floyd feelings...;)

  • Alan Parsons was Pink Floyd's producer

  • Me da gusto que alguien sepa esto, solo fue del disco de Darck side of the moon Supuestamente el mejor disco de la historia. y el le produjo los multi track tapes a los que les dio un sonido unico

  • Yeah, U may say that. ...there was already some discussion about this before here. Wikipedia says the following: "He was involved with the production of several successful albums, including The Beatles' Abbey Road and Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon for which Pink Floyd credit him as an important contributor." ...no other PF albums are mentioned tough.

  • No, he wasn't he was only the sound engineer for Atom Heart Mother and Dark Side Of The Moon, but that's not the same as producing.

  • Alan was the engineer on Dark Side, not the producer. That's not to discount his major contribution(s), but simply to set the record straight.

  • Thanks for setting the record straight.

i think most of use music lovers think Alan was the 'producer' on the Pink Floyd Dark side album.

    how come you know this?

  • No - he was the recording engineer on Dark Side of The Moon.

  • Floyd and their long-time engineer, Alan Parsons, used a multitude of sound effects--from stereophonically projected footsteps and planes flying overhead.............he was the engineer.

  • The engineer for the Beatles at apple records? He did floyd too?

  • wow, I can totally see some of these costumes in a future Cirque show... :)

  • At 2:10 there is a similar scene from the clip by Mike Oldfield "Let There Be Light"

  • 'The beginning of the video reminded me that I've been looking for music I thought me son might like and never heard. I started I, Robot," and after like 3 notes, he said, "I hate Alan Parsons." This surprised me. Turns out, while he was working on a shrimp boat in Alaska, this was all his captain listened to.

  • bummer

i cannot imagine never having enjoyed AP

my kids hate Moody Blues cuz we listened to them so much and their mother fought with everyone around her so much and so they associate that with MB.

    so sorry so so. :D

  • 2:13 : American Gothic ? XD

  • Ahhh, I've been looking for this song...for so long

  • Thanks webpacopi

    :D

  • Dark side of the moon Parsons greatest and the rest great too very unique musician

  • he is basically one of the most brilliant producers/studio musician/engineer/musician that the 60s produced,...england had him, australia had mike oldfield

  • Oldfield is british too.

  • wonderfull!

  • brilliant!!!!!!!!!

    love you for sharing this!!!!!!

  • love the sun glasses... wayfirers...so hipster

  • yes

  • So sad it got several cuts on the best part D:

Oh well, that doesn't make the clip any less interesting :P

  • This song has a lot to say to us today. It's going to be very difficult in the coming economic and political waters; turn it up and make your voice heard (but also remember to listen to others).

  • take it easy, your supossed 2 feel alive not part of a game that is not yet run it`s course.

  • Look like some weird video for Star Wars or something... Weird.

  • I had a hard time with my new job that I started back in May. This song made me want to do my best. I haven't heard this song in a really long time. Good memories!!

  • You know guys on the mtv of

(turn it up) on video is call

    MTV art.

  • Man I saw them on their ON Air tour in San Antonio, Texas!! That was the shit!! Where is this official video from is it on the CD or was there a concert or music video released for this!?

  • That was great! Thank you for making me laugh as well as my soul fix for the day.

  • Magnifico video

  • XD XD I love the end XD

  • Does anyone recognize this vocal as the same as Blinded By The Light, For You, and others by Manfred Mann's Earth Band? That's right, it's Chris Thompson.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Let's do not forget the ''you're the voice''....a beautiful song

  • Chris also wrote "Your the voice" which was a huge hit for John Farnham in the 80's, who has a similar fabulous voice!

  • ''doown the barrel of a gunnnnn!!!! was it written for john or did john cover it ?

  • this video was made by storm thorgerson

  • Turn it up and really really make it LOUDER \o/

  • This song is etched into my memory. I first heard it when I was 24, a few years ago. I've always pursued an eclectic taste in music because I believe all music can move people emotionally. This song is one of my all time faves, to this day in my life. The composition, the vocals, everything fits so beautifully. I also adore that short-but-so-satisfying guitar solo. Never thought to look for a video to it!! Thanks for posting it!

  • Turn yourself up sing it louder

  • it means for every act of crime...there is a double of goodness to wipe it out.....don't keep your feelin' locked inside...turn it up..make friends..

  • holy shit, i did not know there was an official video for this song!!!

beyond sweet, i think i just got diabetes!!!

  • Great vid and one of my fav songs. I am going to see AP in concert April 1st!!! Last time I saw in concert was 9 years ago!

  • I did not know they were doing anothere concert tour. Where are you going to see them?

  • Saw them in Annapolis, Maryland. Concert was awesome!!!!

  • Memories when this was out. Not many people listened to A.P. But me and Mrs. did. Good shit.

  • I love this song, I love this video, I love its emotional power. I haven't heard the song, nor seen the video before, but I'm deeply in love with it.

  • I love this song, I love this video, I love its emotional power. I haven't heard the song, nor seen the video before, but I'm deeply in love with it.

  • i'm new to this band- i don't think i care for this song but the video is AMAZING! it's incredibly profound.

  • I don't think there's one of those either! Do you hear and see?

  • Well Alan Parsons Produced many of Pink Floyd's songs as well as The Beatles and Al Stewart.

  • DARK Side of the Moon - he was the main engineer - the guy is a genius

  • and Elton John's classic: Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Al Stewart's year of the Cat etc etc even did some work for the Beatles.

  • I've always been about the music, more than the bands. I had a lot of albums by different artist, what in my mind was their peak. I am mentioning this b/c Goodbye Bricks was one (and I do think I'd be embarrassed to have owned any other Elton John album), Year of the Ca &, I, Robot were 3 of my "only ones."

  • I'm a fan since 1981. This song really makes me turn it up..... the volume!!!

    Greetings to all fans.

    Jan

  • amazing song plus a great video equal= beauty

  • Chris Thompson has the best voice ever!

  • WOW! This is a killer great album. I didn't know here was a video shoot of the album art sessions, I assumed they were all stills. Brilliant images. Was this done by Hipgnosis?

  • God I love this, the man is truely something else. When I was younger as it was release I thought he was singing "Dirty Love" lol ; ]

  • FANTASTICO. PUNTO E BASTA.

  • O vídeo é realmente muito bom,mas a música soa como um pastiche da pior fase do Pink Floyd.

  • YEZZ!Thanks for uploading.I been looking for this video for many years

  • Listening to this band should be a pre-requisite for anybody applyng for human sensibilities.

  • Well then, It would probably be outlawed in America as no one has any sense here!

  • Speaking in absolutes and generalizations is one form of not being sensible.

  • As an old fan, I am so surprised he made a video out of this song.

    It's brilliant.

Pink Floyd, Bilal and Magritte are all there, and did anybody notice the wink to his first album, Tales of Mystery and Imagination ?

    So glad !

  • Agreed! this one still sound as great as ever

  • Holy shit I was 13 when I first saw this video, 14 years ago and it's still one of the best songs I've heard!!! =)

  • Pretty good quality. Thank you! Pascal

  • Esta es una de las mejores canciones que Alan ha escrito. Me hace hervir la sangre en las venas! 5/5 Lo que si... por que el video dura 4 mins cuando la cancion original dura 6?

  • The video depicts gnostic humanist philosophy. Notice the fallen angels becoming mortals theme.

  • ero in seconda media.....che forte...da quanto tempo volevo rivederlo

  • Nice touch at the end - showed they had a sense of humour and weren't in danger of disappearing up their own arses...

  • OTRO ACIERTO DE ALAN PARSONS!!!! gracias por difundirlo!!!

  • Vaya , hasta que lo encontre, gracias por subirlo!.

  • TURN IT UP MAKE IT LOUDER!!!

  • simplemente motivante!!!!!!!!

vi el video hace más de 12 años---Ahora tiene más significado para mi...gracias´por subirlo!

  • the vocalist in this song is chris thompson of the manfred mann´s eart band

  • i ♥ this song so much!!!!!!!!!!! my dad got me into it 9 years ago when i was 4 years old

  • I think the best video I've ever seen from Alan Parsons.

  • Gotta Love Storm Thorgerson's work, he was exceptional with Pink Floyd also. WYWH DB
