  • wOwwwwwww .... @@

  • ParaNorman :D

  • Did you eat all this acid?

  • In 1968, I loved that music. That hasn't changed. Thanks to YouTube for having returned me in this wonderful past.

  • Absolutely stonkin'.

  • Haven't thought of Brian Auger and Julie Driscoll in years, but they crossed my mind today and I came here looking for them. Thanks to all who post this stuff and make youtube so freaking cool for hunting down great music.

  • Brilliant! Brian on some L Hammond. B3's didn't work on UK's 220 volts yet.

  • She sounds like a female version of Steve Winwood of Traffic. Can you imagine her and SW doing a duet?

  • @pataphysician66 Yes....there's also something Dusty-ish about her phrasing.

  • bEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS VERSION FOR YEARS, AND NOW I FIND IT ON HALLOWEEN!

  • This is the kind of stuff that made psychedelia worthwhile. Julie sounds almost like Aretha here.

  • This is full of magic!! Love everything about it!

  • I remember those sets so well, and i miss them....Drugs had a positive effect on many people.

  • This has held up amazingly well.

  • Fantastic thanks.

  • My face is hurting because I can't stop smiling!!!!!!!!!!! Make it stop. The walls are breathing. The shag carpet is moving. I can't stop laughing long enough to breath. Turn it up, no wait turn it down. The razzberry fuzzies are on me. Feel this material, do you see what that pattern is doing? Watch that Escher print! Wait while I go stare at myself in the mirror.

  • this aint got shit on donnie.

  • actually the stephen stills version can compare...

  • QUE CHINGON ESTA !!!

  • Real Psychodelią

  • this is simply...........WOW!

  • Great song...one of the many great interpretations that are out there. Love seeing the different ones...takes creativity to see whasss happenin' in each, ya dig it.

  • Diva!

  • Thank`s REALLY LIKE IT! Wow it`s great

  • Great Vid. Great rendition, totally Groovy!

  • Hate it!

  • i like Donovan better

  • Love, Love, Love Julie Driscoll's voice...one of the BEST vocalists of the 60s!!! Although this is my fave song by her and the AMAZING Brian Auger, "Lock All the Gates" REALLY shows her vocal talent!!!

  • I am old enough to own 1960s vinyl LPs [but the vid. was not bundled @ that time].

Do some no longer think of Afganistan as coat manufacturers? I suggest a date stamp of 1969/70?

  • A Great Singer, A Great Song. The Perfect Mix!

  • Outstanding! And there is no humping, crotch grabbing, or wardrobe malfunctions.

Just visual and musical art pushing the envelope.

    I'd buy this on dvd.

  • I saw her and Brian Auger at the Black Swan.......and then we friggin' die. Not fair.

  • There used to be this acid called "Blue Tranquility". I did 1700 mikes of it one night in 1969. I was knocked to the sidewalk by the force of a beam of light from a billboard ad at a German streetcar stop. My only regret is that I didn't have this video available.

  • Best Psyche visuals ive ever seen. Cohesive and memorable.

  • MY FACE IS MELTING !!! MY EYES ARE RUNNING WITH BLOOD !!! MY EARS ARE JUST FINE THOUGH !!!

  • I love her makeup

  • great organ tone. not Hammond? Wurlitzer?

  • way better than donovan's version imho. you rule miss driscoll

  • So So SoSo Fucking Cool Julie you Rock chills and memories are endless wow where did life go I rememeber this and their version of Light my Fire way back when music was really MUSIC thanks for the post nyrainbow2 you made my day. Live it Love it Feel it my friend those days are gone forever but with these songs they will live forever.

  • the organ solo

  • shrine audotorium every 2 weeks 1968

  • totally psychedelic !

  • Fhab, Geah; Yehss?

  • Jean Christophe Averty. Thanks to vonroon23 for mentioning this innovative film maker, I'd never heard of him. Some of his work similar to Canadian Norman McLaren, especially Averty's "visual music" creations.

  • Love that coat! Julie looking, sounding great. Kudos to Jean-Christian Averty and the band.

  • Great quality clip...

  • Wow man, heavy

  • I bet this is where Bowie got his idea for Ziggy Stardust

  • Love it. It's like a bunch of big vagina eyes and she keeps birthing herself. She is one bad bitch.

  • Although, the original by Donovan and the version by Vanilla Fudge are both great, NOTHING can compare to this one by Brian Auger and Julie Driscoll!! Her brilliant vocals, complimented by Brian's outstanding performance took it to another level!!

  • @gypsiqueen I just came across Terry Reid's long version; it is by far the best of all. Julie tries very hard to be a European Grace Slick, and succeeds. Pity the bassman and drummer didn't dress up a bit too, they look like fugitives from Hermans' Hermits or Freddie and the Dreamers!. Nice keyboards though, is that Brian Auger?.

  • Love This!!! Brings back sooooo many memories of 1968 THE YEAR for some of the BEST Classic Rock ever...still stands the test of time! Thank You!!

  • who is this creepy chick with the pimp coat? gid, i love the late 60's-70's!

  • The set is extraordinary. It could only be the 60s. Does anybody know who designed it ?

  • @vonroon23 This is a show by famous French TV director Jean-Christian Averty. He did a simillar styled show with the ...., yes --- the Bee Gees in 1968. Look for clips under" Bee Gees Idea". The Swinging Sixties in a nutshell.

  • I love the organist. He just HAS to be on something :)

  • this is amazing! thank you!

  • lmao @ 3:08

  • Remember it well. Had a coat just like that. Smell- y, but fun. That's when good stuff came out of Afghanistan, embroidered coats and reaaaallly good shit !! lol.

  • this is a clip from a monkees tv special

  • She's vampish long before vampish. The guy on the organ has either NOT taken his meds or he HAS... Shame about the BITC but great video. Janis Joplin does a nice version too.

  • @uksnootyfox • gee... "the guy on the organ' happens to be Brian Auger.

  • When I close my eyes Julie Drisoll licks my face

  • Two Pieces of advice... watch this and lick a sheet of paper!!!

  • I JUST LOVE THIS VIDEO...I'M LOST! DUUUUUDE!!!

  • Hmmmm. Lounge Jazz. Niiiiiiice.

  • Didn't she sing the theme tune to the Hammer film 'Moon Zero Two'?

This track and promo (weren't called videos back then) are fab. Thanks for uploading this!

  • I never realised a Hammond organ solo could be that cool

  • I Loved Dusty Springfield and her little sister (just kidding!) Julie Driscoll !

Jools has an even more slithering feel for Jazz than Dusty did.

PS. Hey Tracey Chapman.... I dig your tribute on "Give Me One Reason".

I still believe in the Trinity !

    GOD BLESS !

  • She put a spell on me...

  • Simply unbelievable, her, her voice, Brian's horgan, the whole music. Uncomparable.

  • piece of advice... lick a sheet of acid and watch this!!

  • Two Pieces of advice... watch this and lick a sheet of paper!!!

  • @juanchonesa hahaha indeed

  • @juanchonesa Or wake up and see it for real!

  • @juanchonesa that wasnt a good idea. i have to stop doing everything people say all of the time.

  • @dakinebud187 if you never try, then you'll never know... :)

  • @juanchonesa hahahahahahahah

  • @juanchonesa Start with Yellow Sunshine, or Blue Owsley and your in business. you will meet Satan himself.

  • @juanchonesa they definitely did!

  • @juanchonesa your gonna die if you lick a sheet if your gonna do acid do like half a tab, i use to do acid and i don't recommend it, the comedown is awful, I'd rather have the worst hangover possible.

  • Comment removed

  • @nafebronafe

    they were j/k!

pure acid has no bad comedown that a little weed, booze or valium won't fix.

after a good trip, you'll be tired & maybe want to mellow out after 8 hours. then get ten hours sleep & be better than new.

  • Whoa, that's just too many colors.

  • ANY OF U OUT THERE ACTUALLY GET TO SEE THEM.......AWESOME.....NUFF SAID? THEN U MIGHT TRY TERRY REID.

  • Bugger Austin Powers .... this the real deal.

  • wtf ???!!! masonic music !!

  • Can anyone help me I'm torn between which album to buy, Julie Driscall, Brian Auger and the Trinity or Street Noise, I might end up with both but which is the best to start?

  • im gonna watch the movie in an hour

  • Brian Auger -steampacket /trinity - on organ?

  • brian auger -steampacket /trinity - on organ?

  • Which version came first? seems there are several versions from the 60's

  • @TrueSoul39 Donovan's wrote the song

  • @electrixladyland69 Well, that's because of the northern California hedonists, i.e., drugged out 'oh, we're the cool ones" LSD loving San Franciscan hippies that later became the yuppies.

  • Julie was so cool and Donovan was a great song writer

Anyone remember the TV olay 'Season of the Witch' with Julie. There was one great scene where Julie was on a commuter train between Brighton and London and she was sat opposite this pin stripe suit commuter guy reading the 'Times'. She set fire to the paper. So funny

  • julie driscoll=minx

  • yeah baby!

  • swingin London ...those were the days

  • there is only one version of this song and that's donovan's version.

  • GO HOME, OR TO THE STUDIO!

TURN ON YOUR AMPS AND RECODING EQUIPMENT, AND SEND US THE RESULTS!

MUSIC DOES NOT EQUAL SIGHT, SIGHT DOES NOT EQUAL MUSIC!

THAT IS WHY MANY STILL LOVE MOZART!

TRY AND COMBINE MUSIC WITH SIGHT AN YA MAKE ME PUKE!

    VINYL FOREVER!

  • This great but vanilla fudge rule this song.

  • i always loved julie is she still preforming a real talent.

  • @shorelineboy

she now performs under the name Julie Tippetts-you can find her thru google.

  • great song.. cool video..

  • Brian Auger too. Album out in 1967, yes?

  • WOW, thanks so much for posting this! I'm familiar with this version but have never seen this video...so colorful & 60's! I really need to check out more of her music.

  • Eight people had a bad trip man.

  • Toadally like far outsville...

  • very trippy. I can dig it.

  • fashionista

  • Donovan sang that too.........

  • @acratense ...Donovan wrote it as well...

  • my tween idol, most beautiful singer ever.

  • Whoa!! Austin Powers wasn't an exaggeration.

  • @spitz512 Oh, no! Understated, if anything...

  • @spitz512 more like Austin Powers meets Twiggy....

  • @spitz512 piece of advice... lick a sheet of acid and watch this!!

  • @juanchonesa Funny, I did in 1976, and I still see it in flashbacks.....

  • @spitz512 • This was not common place as JD was ahead of her time, some today are still trying to figure her out.

  • @spitz512 austin powers blows this is real.

  • Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuué!

  • Driscoll is just about as cool as Auger. Still, I prefer the acid version by the Vanilla Fudge. This one is a bit too un-psychedelic.

  • Lovely set.

  • Litt som å hente plata i hylla,,VOFF, dette elsker jeg

  • The Doctor Detroit is really diggin and trippin on this video and gunna share this great gem with his friends! thx for this awesome treasure gem @nyrainbow2

  • @2009Denisem it is cool!

  • the 0:40 segment... many sights to see... almost prophectic. or is, or not.

    awesome piece of music.

  • @UPTHElRS 6:50 nails it.

  • The sixties!

  • I NEED that coat!

  • lip-synced but still great

  • What an awesome version of the Donovan classic (from 1968). This is a great example of trippy-sixties style. Julie Driscoll, Brain Auger & The Trinity were one of the most under-rated bands of that era! Thanks for sharing this video classic!

  • @Scottstunesful -well said and I could not agree more. x

  • my goddddd my song!!!!!! lol

  • Great song, dreadful misconceptual production and photography.

  • Before PJ Harvey ,Bjork,Kate Bush, The Cake,Patti Smith or forgive me ,Amy,Julie Driscoll reigned...

  • @TumbrelJockey GOT THAT RIGHT!

  • GRRROOOOOOVVVVVYYYYY!

  • Soooo 1968 and sooo cool. Dig the set design.

  • what a cool outfit! she's rad. such a great voice. and a beautiful face.

  • THIS IS FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • rad...

  • Although she's my cousin, we don't keep in touch. My father and her mother do, though.

  • Everything Julie Driscoll Tippetts did is awesome from Trinity to Centipede to Sunset Glow to Carla Bley and so on an on and on

  • Ah in love again!

  • I came across an Australian 20c coin the other night in my cash tray - I'm a Sydney bus driver - and wondered: What was happening way back then . . . ? This wonderful version of an awesome classic was still several years away! This is -without doubt - one of the neatest versions ever! Thanks so much for the posting!!

  • Perennial treat

  • WoW LoVe ThIs TrIpPy ViDeO THANKS FOR SHARING nyrainbow2

  • super bonne version de cette chanson de donovan

  • I dig the huge all seeing eye. groovy.

  • The video is just so ahead of its time. Fantastic timeless music!

  • Ah, LSD. I danced to this song just like she did. But then I realized I was dancing to the dog barking at me from the next house over. Still, good times. Someone needs to mention Donovan, or else we wouldn't be here and that damn dog would still be barking at me. Julie, you'll always be beautiful.

  • Great piece of music! I first heard this song from the thrift-shop LP (original Czechoslovak), and in the sleevenote there was written, that she played at jazz festival during 68' in Bratislava, in my country. Quite remarkable, since it was during the socialism era, that she was even allowed to do that. :) But what the heck, 60's were great around here till the aug 68 ...

  • @chloralhydrate

There is an even more intimate connection between your country, August 68 and Julie and Brian, see here under youtube.com/watch?v=3-_S00jFhn0

  • Love this and it's for my gal Dina!!

  • Amazing vocals..:O)

  • Groovy.

  • so 1968...

  • Brian Auger never used Leslies, neither in his bedroom nor on the stage.

  • Still progressive, still outstanding ;o)

  • I want a hammond in my bedroom.....dont forget the leslies though!

  • Is this just Julie Driscoll or Julie Driscoll with Brian Auger and the Trinity? Organ sounds like Brian Auger.

  • @AtomicLobotomy

    yes that's Brian Auger 4 sure ;-)

  • @AtomicLobotomy Sure it is Brian Auger and The Trinity with Jools

  • What a voice! Street Noise album one of my favorites of all time... Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Julie Driscoll, need no more...

  • Comment removed

  • Wasn't she gorgeous!

  • @keiththabass, she could sing well too. Season Of The witch is a Classic 60's Hit. Pure magic and a great music video set.
