Haven't thought of Brian Auger and Julie Driscoll in years, but they crossed my mind today and I came here looking for them. Thanks to all who post this stuff and make youtube so freaking cool for hunting down great music.
My face is hurting because I can't stop smiling!!!!!!!!!!! Make it stop. The walls are breathing. The shag carpet is moving. I can't stop laughing long enough to breath. Turn it up, no wait turn it down. The razzberry fuzzies are on me. Feel this material, do you see what that pattern is doing? Watch that Escher print! Wait while I go stare at myself in the mirror.
Great song...one of the many great interpretations that are out there. Love seeing the different ones...takes creativity to see whasss happenin' in each, ya dig it.
Love, Love, Love Julie Driscoll's voice...one of the BEST vocalists of the 60s!!! Although this is my fave song by her and the AMAZING Brian Auger, "Lock All the Gates" REALLY shows her vocal talent!!!
There used to be this acid called "Blue Tranquility". I did 1700 mikes of it one night in 1969. I was knocked to the sidewalk by the force of a beam of light from a billboard ad at a German streetcar stop. My only regret is that I didn't have this video available.

Jean Christophe Averty. Thanks to vonroon23 for mentioning this innovative film maker, I'd never heard of him. Some of his work similar to Canadian Norman McLaren, especially Averty's "visual music" creations.
Although, the original by Donovan and the version by Vanilla Fudge are both great, NOTHING can compare to this one by Brian Auger and Julie Driscoll!! Her brilliant vocals, complimented by Brian's outstanding performance took it to another level!!
@gypsiqueen I just came across Terry Reid's long version; it is by far the best of all. Julie tries very hard to be a European Grace Slick, and succeeds. Pity the bassman and drummer didn't dress up a bit too, they look like fugitives from Hermans' Hermits or Freddie and the Dreamers!. Nice keyboards though, is that Brian Auger?.
@vonroon23 This is a show by famous French TV director Jean-Christian Averty. He did a simillar styled show with the ...., yes --- the Bee Gees in 1968. Look for clips under" Bee Gees Idea". The Swinging Sixties in a nutshell.

She's vampish long before vampish. The guy on the organ has either NOT taken his meds or he HAS... Shame about the BITC but great video. Janis Joplin does a nice version too.
@juanchonesa your gonna die if you lick a sheet if your gonna do acid do like half a tab, i use to do acid and i don't recommend it, the comedown is awful, I'd rather have the worst hangover possible.
Can anyone help me I'm torn between which album to buy, Julie Driscall, Brian Auger and the Trinity or Street Noise, I might end up with both but which is the best to start?
Ha! You thought it was? :-D Those were some really trippy, really cool daze, especially in the eye and ear candy departments. It was a golden era overflowing with super-creativity, a one-of-a-kind renaissance time never again to be repeated--just like all one-of-a-kind, really cool eras.
And now we're STUCK in the doldrums of our 'modern' era which has existed for some years now. :-(
@electrixladyland69 Well, that's because of the northern California hedonists, i.e., drugged out 'oh, we're the cool ones" LSD loving San Franciscan hippies that later became the yuppies.
Julie was so cool and Donovan was a great song writer
Anyone remember the TV olay 'Season of the Witch' with Julie. There was one great scene where Julie was on a commuter train between Brighton and London and she was sat opposite this pin stripe suit commuter guy reading the 'Times'. She set fire to the paper. So funny

Ah, LSD. I danced to this song just like she did. But then I realized I was dancing to the dog barking at me from the next house over. Still, good times. Someone needs to mention Donovan, or else we wouldn't be here and that damn dog would still be barking at me. Julie, you'll always be beautiful.
