they did a great job with the song choices for the movie. also vanessa williams was amazing in this, she was an actor and dancer. she was in the lead role so had a lot of dialogue, & she'd also have all of the dance routines to learn & act out also. job well done! great movie.

I've watched this several time and really, I don't know why they won. She just froze a couple times when she saw Raphael and neither of them smile. In fact he grits his teeth all the time. The redhead and her partner at least like they were having fun. Not this couple. But it is nice that she fantasizes that she'd dancing with Raphael. Her skinny, flamenco, big nosed partner makes no sense. Maybe that was the point. .

What?! I hate when people say stupid stuff like this just goes to reveal how generally ignorant and hateful people are. Obviously people who are latin and speak spanish feel some emotion to dances like these because its connected to their culture. Also so long as spanish-latin music gets used there will continue to be a connection there. The only one fooling themselves is you dance standardized these dances so everyone could dance to them not so that it could exclude people from it! : P
