Cont. Why should I make an excuse for Africans involvement in slavery when there just as guilty as anyone else? Profiting still off the backs of slaves as if it was something that only the strong could do but what about all the other people that died. When I look at Africa now I think why are those people killing each other not all of them but in Sudan for example or why did they have civil war in Nigeria? My conclusion is that Africans have become complacent too in settleing for less because that museum he is talking about in this video is were people transported to death and taken away.

Slavery continues to this day , there are more slaves alive today than were taken from Africa across the Atlantic during the 16th & 17th Century.. I was at the Castle on Saturday and attended a Slavery awareness in Geneva , Switzerland on Monday.

@gvatrevor Your statement is insensitive and ignorant the slave traders of the 16Th & 18Th centuries were rewarded with nighthoods, and other honours. Some slave owners became Presidents, some members of Parliament in England, and France, Netherlands none got prison. Unlike today in the 21st Century so your comparison makes no sense in the light of history, and the people who lived at that time. They are my sources not your personal ingnorance and insensitivity.

@Kalydosos .. What statement to you find to be inaccurate ... That there are more slaves alive today .. Please check with one of the many NGOs that operate in this field. ..It was to highlight the fact that even after all this time we still live in a world of slavery., maybe not where you live or work , but doesn't mean this doesn't exist. It's a rather high handed approach to think that you are the single source of information on this subject.

However, no past slaver got jail they got rewards and you choose to ignore this fact thats your business not mine. I went to Ghana last summer for three weeks. We went to the Elmina Slave castle and although it is extremely sad it is such a powerful experience. It truly changed my life forever. I hope that you do get to go and experience its power.
