YEAH! It was awesome! TJC has the BEST band in the world--I am talking overall experience. If you want director's that actually care about you--go here. You won't get any of those high-brow I-have-a-degree-and-you-don't attitudes here. Tom and Heather mensch along with their staff are some of the greatest people in the world. Is this an endorsement? You bet it is!
i have to give MaJoR kudos for using the ORIGINAL version of malaguena written for full ensembles in the 80s. i performed it my sophmmore year of high school. my only complaint with this one is you guys didnt speed up after the trombone solo, it could have easily gone 145 and you guys could have pulled it off well
@chygal790 Well I'm sure it would have sounded nice... but I marched this show (baritone section leader) and that is the part of the show we had the least amount of time to work on.
@morenong I was one of the trombone players that was up there at the front (middle one). I totally don't agree with you. We had PLENTY of time to work on this one, but we just spent all our time on El Toro Caliente (which can be loosely translated as "The Spicy Bull"). Unless you want me to beat the living snot out of you, don't ever comment on this video again!!!!!!!!!!! Also, we couldn't speed it up because the baritone section was always dragging...I blame the section leader...lol
@DaveyTrumpetOCCHS Oklahoma State's is better imo. but not by much. this version is pretty awesome too. I had it on a CD back when i was HS. hearing it agaiin brings back memories.
The whole song and the arrangement is incredible excellent this one, besides which the alone one of the trumpet is too sharpacute and goes out with many final touch, the musicality this of the trumpets very well, to they my me motivate to continuing touching this good type of music it is quite regards from cuautla MORELOS. CEAMB WOLF MARCHING BAND
...and if you would direct your attention to the middle of the field at 2:31, you will see my trombone's slide fall to the turf and me bend down to grab it. Thank God that was a 72 count hold!
@deeders08 He is the trumpet professor for Indiana University. He toured with Maynard Ferguson as his lead player for the Big Bop Nuveau. Amazing teacher, and electric player.
