I cannot believe that The British Broadcasting Corporation cannot maintain a youtube page. Its ridiculous that one of our politicians cant say his piece with one of the country's biggest presenters without it looking stupid. Well what can we say about BBC NI. How professional. Good job you absolute Amatures!
Liam2621 "whats the difference between a terrorist and a soldier? " ....The difference is soldiers wear uniforms so the enemy can identify them .... Terrorists are cowardly bastards who cry when they get shot at ..... simple
There is no difference in guerilla tactics and say a stealth bomber. If they wear uniforms to be identified why do they have camoflage on them instead of bright orange?
to me the only difference is power, i think its naive to say soldiers somehow have more morals becuse they wear a uniform, im sure many soldiers cry when they get shot
It's a crap and pointless interview but at the end of the day, mr McGuiness is a nothing more than a terrorist. Whether or not he actually killed anyone is beside the point. It really is laughable that he now trys to pass himself off as a respectable politition. He is without doubt the worst kind of scum!
Whats more likely to happen is an independant Ulster with its own government within a political union with Eire. With Britain out of the equation Sinn fein would have to accept the will of the people.
I think that would be the logical step forward, I think that is what were gearing up for, Sinn Fein want a united Ireland that represents and grants freedom to all citizens, I dont think Britain has any longterm economic or political interest in the 6 counties and I believe the will is there to form a united Ireland, with the 6 counties with its own government in Union with Eire
Read up about 'eire nua' Mite be the way forward. Ulster has 9 counties, the people of ulster are pro united ireland. Independent NI? it has little support and would never survive. Its a safety net unionists have if needed. United Ireland is def gona happen.
Well on wikipedia theres a 2005 opinion poll by Northern Ireland Life and Times. And the rsults were.
to stay in the uk: 54%
unite with Ireland 28%
undecided 11%
independant 7%
It went on to point out that 10% of the 54 were catholic.I realise this is uncomfortable reading which is why both Eire or the UK government havnt pushed for a refferendum.
Im talkin about ulster which has 9 counties, 3 is in the republic. read my profile for support from britain for united Ireland. The british dont want n ireland, its best we get on with each other on this small island, not looking to another group of countries who dont even want us
10 years ago when labour was devolving governments all over the UK, it was widely regarded that Ireland would unite with Ulster within a decade.well 10 years on and Paisleys party is still the majority. I think what with peace in the region now and a moderate prosperity enjoyed on both sides of the border, the danger is that the unification question will become less desirable. The troubles of the 60's and 70's and 80's were definately amplified by the level of poverty.
This is a genuinely heart-warming interview and a cause for celebration. The further people like McGuinness and Paisley go down the road of reconciliation and mainstream politics, the harder it will be for them to revert to the damaging extremism of previous years. What's called for is a united Northern Ireland freed from the poison of its recent history. It needs to be reborn to represent the interests of ALL it's citizens, whatever their national sympathies.

Martin McGuinness hates the provo scum as much as the rest of us now, bet he counts his blessing everyday that he was born British.

No he hates dissidents, there's a difference you ignoramus. And no, he was born Irish on the island of Ireland despite what land the British occupy.

How can people who call themselves unionists for hundreds of years, who send their sons to die in foreign fields suddendly want to leave the Relm?
Ah but there was the same people back during the home rule crisis drilling in the fields to shoot British soilders to maintain their Britishness
Has the Union Flag that you wave in peoples faces simply been a flag of convenience?
