  • The powers that be just want you to be a healthy productive worker drone, paying taxes till you are old, then die.

  • retarded reasoning.yeah and the state wouldnt be losing the revenue it would be the private buisnesses.

  • "Prohibition...goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded." -Abraham Lincoln, December, 1840

  • Haha... Smokers deserve it. And, the only people that lose money from smoking bans are morticians and the tobacco industry.

  • That's not true in the least. Local restaurants and bars are losing a lot of money because smokers feel discriminated against.

  • Are you real...wont help the economy? fuck economy...lets think about helping lives. Are you somekind of halfwit?

  • It's fascism. There are elitest non-smokers, which it looks like you are, and they can choose to go to a non-smoking establishment. This is the USA, the people should be able to make the decision for themselves and not be subjected to the opinions or wants of others. There can be room for both those that want to smoke and those that don't want to even be around it. Let's all have our rights here.

  • "Im standing outside in the F***ing rain/ And theres people in the toilet snorting cocaine/ Its easier to do coke now than smoke/ The Smoking bans beyond a f***ing joke"

    THE GIROBABIES "Smoking Ban"

  • h t t p : //petitions . pm . gov. uk /repeal-the-ban/

  • You actually had me until you started to whine about how angry you are and that you claimed that "they're just cigarettes for Christ sakes" despite that you've stated a little bit ago that cigarettes are bad for you. For that reason, I no longer regret for voting for the ban.

  • you taking up my time give me money-Federation of Non Tippers

  • the land of the free, you can smoke in , north korea, iran etc who is free?

  • No study has proven a link with second hand smoke and cancer not one. The anti-smoking nazis site a meta study that was thrown out in court for cherry picking studies and cooking the numbers to meet their agenda. There are more indoor air pollutants which are far more hazardous but still perfectly legal in terms of OSHA and EPA regulations than smoking. The only reason smoking is targeted is because it is visible. And it is a way for busy bodies to inflict their will on others.

  • THis girl is right on the money, and you are too , Hitler was for a smoking ban, not long after that he killed 6 million Jews,,Smoking Bans kill

  • "The expected 5-year survival rate for all patients in whom lung cancer is diagnosed is 15.5 percent compared to 64.8 percent for colon, 89 percent for breast and 99.9 percent for prostate cancer."

  • Do you not believe in medical studies? Cigarette smoking is THE cause of lung cancer and second hand smoke is even worse. Those exposed to cigarette smoke over the years are susceptible to cancer/emphysema even if they've never smoked themselves. Speaking of emphysema, my neighbor spent 8 years on artificial machines because he couldn't get oxygen naturally.

Thankfully, this ban is keeping Americans' breathing and lungs healthy.

  • Nope, I don't believe "medical studies". The results are always twisted to make a point. When I start feeling out of breath, I'll admit that smoking is hazardous to my health. But, I've been smoking for about 12 years and I can still run without getting winded so my opinion stands.

  • 12 years....give it a couple more then out out a nice long jog..your lungs will be in your throat .

  • Actually, I can still run. Can't do 4 miles but I can do 1.

  • you mean you drink more when you can smoke. right?

  • I drink more when I can smoke and I smoke more when I drink. If that makes sense.

  • im from ohio, i smoke, this is what you get when you allow women to vote :P

  • LOL. Sadly, for the most part, I'm inclined to agree.

  • My family history is a waste of time. On my fathers side, everyone has boys and they never die from natural causes and I don't know my mother's side.

  • n terms of the hundred year old smoking woman, she probably had a genetic resistance to it. Different people come from different genetic stock, just because they can do things and not be effected doesn't mean you can. it's also genetic to live to a very old age. look at your family history and don't think that someone elses situation is identical to yours.

  • The government knows the more restriction they place on cigarettes the more people will buy them. It's called reverse psychology. They want people to think the reason they raise the taxes is because they want to discourage smoking because they care. They know statistically that you will buy them no matter what. They own your lungs.

  • Actually, its done for the opposite reason. The more restrictions they put on smoking, in addition to the higher taxes, stop people from smoking because it becomes an inconvenience and too costly.

  • Your not complaing about your smokes being almost 5 bucks are ya ?!!! Cuz up here in Canada they are 10 bucks! :P We passed a smoking ban too beginning of decemeber...and it is a fucking bitch! Grrrr!!!!

  • No, it doesn't really matter to me how much they cost. Its just the point that we keep getting taxes added and now we can't smoke at bars or restaurants. Its bullshit.

  • Oh I hear ya! Same shit here, and it pisses us all off! The smokers anyhow lol

  • and about your 108 yr old woman, smoking affects people differently. it depends on your genes your body type..alot. But i really rather pay more taxes thatn worry about medical bills for lung cancer when i'm 40

  • I think that your analysis of the loss of revenue may be a bit far fetched but it makes sense however they are'nt banning cigarettes completely just in public. You can still smoke your liver out in your house, your friend's house, your neighbors house. you just can't do it where there are other people who is being inconvenienced by it.

  • oh and second hand smoke kills

  • i dont agree with you here as a non smoker i know loads of close friends who have died of cancer and find it disgusting wen your standing next to people not smoking and they are blowing smoke in your face . you might not notice it as a smoker but i used to come in from nights out and stink of smoke from other people its really unconsiderate thank god they passed a smoking ban in ireland ages ago

  • That a bunch of crap. There are literally hundreds of factors that contribute to cancer. Stop pointing fingers like a child.

  • ever heard of the immune system? not every person is the same. there are actually people more sensitive to smoking than others. that 108 year old woman example proves that point...

  • I fully agree with you, even though not being of age to smoke(but do anyways, about a pack a day and only at my house),without even doing it in public,i they are taking away what little rights we have.If i want to put...

  • something in my body its my body get over it,dont make a law to stop me, wether im to young or of age.And for all the non-smokers not wanting smoking in resturants get over and quite being such babies. At least i live in texas....Hell yea no smoking ban down here, you should come visit

  • You are spot on with everything you said. Anti smokers are lousey tippers.

  • :) I never said they were lousy tippers, only that as a whole, in general, smokers spend more thus they tip more. The lousy tippers are business people from Japan. Many of them don't understand that in this country, waitresses live on tips. :)

  • I didn't mean to imply all non-smokers. I just meant the Nico-Nazis, as opposed to smokers and liberated non-smokers.

  • LOL.

  • Attn fellow Smokers; ROLL ON with the Boycotts!

  • Smokers and those who do not like loss of liberty must band together to defeat these kinds of things. I propose that all smokers boycott Ohio. Dont buy anything there. If you live there, drive out of state to drink, eat, buy groceries, smoke etc... Kick em where it hurts... in the bank account.

  • Ah, well, in the news today, there is a lawsuit against the state basically for discrimination against smokers. Actually, it is mostly about the business owners whose rights have been taken away as well. Hopefully, they will win, gaining their right to decide for themselves if their businesses should be smoking or non-smoking. They want to be able to hang a sign on the door informing customers if smoking is or is not allowed.

  • Thus, everyone, smokers and non-smokers, can enter at their own risk. (How is that different than it was before the ban?)

  • That's silly. I can understand doing it if you live near the border, but most of us don't. Christ, it takes like 4 hours to get to Michigan and I like near Akron. Plus, I like only having to drive 10 minutes to get stuff.

  • No doubt. I was reading an old comic the other day and I found one of those "Tobacco is Wacko" ads. It made me giggle. Thought I'd share.

  • (because it won't show the other part of my comment. O.o; )I've delt with for ages and don't really complain because it's just been a way of life for me at home. Oh well down with the commerical. XD Too bad smokers couldn't band together and ban those stupid ones.

  • Ah, Well something like this occured in Florida I mean years ago. The only difference is that you can't be in public area's and smoke. It's more of a second hand smoke issue if anything and well Cigs we're different back 100 years ago before they started to add all the current chemical in our current ones.

  • I've been even told that by my elders which had.. indeed smoked. Things we're different back then. Either way not being able to socially smoke in places shouldn't make that much of an impact.. Here we are in Florida and despite if we can't smoke inside? Nothing really has changed. XD You just don't eat and smoke or drink and smoke at the same time. O.o; I guess I really don't see why you have a reason to be so bitter.

  • XD And sorry if I sound harsh I just don't see eye to eye. Though I hope your taxs don't raise.

  • Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. I'm not offended. The smoking thing just angers me because I live in Ohio. The "soccer-moms" here have started this Stand thing. Every commercial break has a "Smoking is bad" commercial" that is intended to stop people from smoking when in reality they are offensive and they usually only end up making a smoker light up - especially the one with the little girl who says, "Every time I see someone with a cigarrette, I go *cough cough*.

  • How rude! Drives me nuts. (I'd never smoke near a child though, I hate that. I actually go so far as to hide my cigarette behind my hand if one is around - don't want to teach them bad habits. :) )

  • wow, "ignorant", do u even know the meaning of ignorance...because honey you are, how can u puff on that cigarette, and say "its a cigarette for christ sake" and in the same breath say "I know smoking is bad for you" are you insane and the whiners I guess that's what I am, a whiner, to be a 28 year old woman never worked in a bar or picked up a cigarette and to discover I have LUNG CANCER,are you that blind to see the adverse effects second hand smoke has on innocent individuals...MORON

  • So, you never worked in a bar and you've never smoked. But, you have lung cancer and this is my fault, how? Oh, wait it isn't. There are hundreds of factors that can contribute to lung cancer. Pointing fingers at smokers because you can't think of someone else to blame is ignorant. Everything happens for a reason. The way you deal with a crisis is a perfect way to gain insight on the type of person you are.

  • quite your whining, get off your pitty pot and move on. Plus they've found that the papers they're basing second hand smoke from were false and false on purpose, but they dont want to admit it. There are court documents on it.

  • hot

  • I'm a big fan of your videos, so I'm not trying to be argumentitive, but you forgot about the medical expenses. Our tax money is spent in the millions and millions for medicaid patients with lung cancer and other smoking problems. Again, big fan, but smoking can cause cancer!

  • You are right. It CAN but that doesn't mean it DOES. Plus, we pay higher insurance rates too. Yes, sometimes taxes foot the bill for medicaid patients. But, who's going to foot the bill when smokers gain 30 pounds because they tried to quit. (Not offended at all.) :)

  • They should not force business owners to ban smoking in their bars/restraunts. If non smokers dont like the smoke atmostphere then dont go there. Everyone had a choice before, now smokers dont have any choice.

  • I realize this is late but I just read your comment. I do agree that smokes don't have a choice now and business owners should not be FORCED to enforce said rule. Although non smokers should be able to go to a restaurant without having to breath smoke. This may be as simple as a smoking and non-smoking section (which I think is more then enough, but we should have the oppurtunity to go to a business in peace without being imposed on.

    Unholy Out

  • i'm a smoker.. and i really know what u mean..

    great video as usual, hun.

    ~moosha

  • my last comment was bein surcastic lol

  • SMOKING BAN, TERRIBLE, u should let people destroy there lungs, (no offence bloggerchickster)
