Do yourself a favor and search the videos "Austraialian feral cats" and watch the videos in order. You will probably learn quite a bit. Oh, you will for sure see that bioligists have poroven the feral cats haven't made much impact at all on wildlife. Interesting videos. But I don't live in the land of the ignorant Oz, so the videos didn't go over my head.
I've heard countless times people say the cats should just be shot, or euthanized. Not only is that inhumane it also creates a vacuum effect. people need to be educated about the vacuum effect. If there are cats in the area... obviously that area is condusive to cats. Spaying and neutering takes care of the numbers. Thanks for posting this. Hopefully people that watch this will spread the word about TNR and let those that don't feel it works know about the vacuum effect.
noddy3311, do some research before you call people sick. Do you even know what the vacuum effect is? Have you done research on native species. Look for info put out by the state, not by some person making assumptions based on emotions. Releasing altered cats actually helps control the populations MUCH better than killing them. Again, do your research. You will find that cats haven't even made a dent on any of the native species. Education is key, and assumption is the mother of all evils.
i dont live in land of the overweight, america. there is 12 million feral cats across Australia. they kill 10 - 12 billion mammals, reptiles and birds annually. the number of these creatures that r now extinct is mind boggling. shooting them on my cousins farm does nothing. we shoot quite a few but in comparison the numbers that r still out there it isnt doing much good. baiting them has been a good solution though. baits that only poison cats and foxes but not native animals. kill the kittys.

I was wondering that. I have up to 11 cats, some domestic that are using my and a neighbors yard as a litter box. I get constant spraying. bushes have been killed from it. Constant cat fights, leading to super spraying, mating. digging around the house and shed. These are not mine. I know one is a neighbors uneautered male and he doesn't care. How are home/property owner compensated for cat damages and how is the feces saturated soil treated?
as fun as that sounds i not spending money on someone elses cat

What logic is there in calling America overweight when you're complaining about feral cats? You're watching too much television, son.
