this brought a big smile to my faceeee!! It's my party!!! Thank you so much for bringing this video to my attention!!! =] Must have been a really great musical!
Yes. Looking at your other favorites I see you are a fan of Lesley's. Enjoy all the post here on "You Tube" both mine and the many others. If you want more information on "My Town" and if you are registered on "Facebook" my site is John Frederick Joseph Brown. Have a great holiday season - jfb
I can assure you that I asked Lesley's permission to upload before I did so. I am in personal contact with her at least a couple of times a year and I know she has visted this site. She has personally e-mailed her comments on some of the videos.
I am such a fan that if at any point she asked me to discontinue promoting the show, to close this site or destroy the script. I WOULD DO SO -jfb
Answering a private e-mail but sharing this info at the same time. Originally there was to be no taping or photos. But in a youth theatre group, high school theatre group or community theatre group video and photograph cameras are everywhere. It does exist and I saw no reason not to post the video so cast members could relive this moment. There is actually about 45 minutes more. If you check the yahoo site dedicated to the show you'll see the actual performance night - video quality is inferior.
LESLEY GORE ATTENDED A PERFORMANCE OF "MY TOWN, MY GUY AND ME" ON MAY 29, 2004 AT THE MEMORIAL HALL THEATRE, PEARSON PEACEKEEPING CENTRE, CORNWALLIS PARK, CLEMENTSPORT, NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA
I keep forgetting how teeny-tiny Lesley is! Have never forgotten what a great song "My Town" is and how big it could (and should) have been had Mercury's promotion force at that point been comatose.
Hahaha! I adored this show, as did we all...man, if we didn't have YCP we all would've died of boredom in that little town. Thanks for infecting me with the drama bug...I'm now at Dal, and my audition for the second-year theatre program is in April. I'm doing Mrs. Daigle's speech from Bad Seed, just as you advised many years ago. Maybe I'll see you around Halifax sometime.
