  • this one reminds me ALOT of Radiohead. Specifically the King Of Limbs.

  • @CaptainKrauser, thank you.

  • Thank you

  • this music breaks all the rules way to rebel Greenwood!

  • @anticliche321 Which rules did it break?

  • Oh I love this track so mad its not on the soundtrack.

  • i really cannot believe the guitarist from Radiohead composed thi lols, its pretty awesome lol

  • holy crap

it's making my heart beat way too fast

  • This is what's playing while they fight the fires in texas.. :P

  • oh! I finally get what Greenmwood means by "Convergence" here! Boy, I'm an idiot. Took me long enough.

  • yeaah... you can't compare. but i still think rthere will be blood better than ncfom

  • sounds that transmit exactly the emotions sorrounding that particular moment in the film. MAGNIFIQUE!

  • in that scene everyone's state of mind is all over the place like the confused beat

  • Aren't you a vessel for the holy spirit? I'm gonna bury you underground! If only we had some real Gs like Danny Plainview to stomp on thepompous religious fucktards in america.Plainview may be greedy and somewhat evil but he will not let hypocritical fools have full sway if he can help it...

  • I like the idea of No Country For Old Men better than this , but i was pretty amazed by this masterpiece too , especially the ending . But i adore Coens so I prefer No Country a little more than There Will Be Blood .

  • @alexamajstor1996 So you like that one more simply because you prefer the coens over PTA?

  • It is very difficult to work while listening to this.

  • @newcoke23 id imagine lol

  • Such weird music. The version in the movie is a slight variation of this.

  • DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINAGE DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINAGE I DRANK YOUR MILK SHAKE ELI

  • @hippotoast I... DRINK... YOUR.... MILKSHAKE SLUUUUURRRRRPPPP I DRINK IT UP!!!!!!!!!!

  • dis doesnt sound like da one in the movie. when dey found the oil...i remember it starting off diff...

  • @AkiLLys

this one sounds like the one off of Jonny Greenwood's solo cd.

  • I AM THE THIRD REVELATION! IIIIIIII AM THE THIRD REVELATION!!!!

  • Give me the blood lord. Give me the blood and let me get away!!!

  • sounds like a heart beat to me - blood of the land

  • It sounds like the inside of a serial killers mind...

  • it's like comparing "Armaggedon and Deep Impact" or Chasing Liberty and The first Daughter, or The Truman Show to EdTV...you just can't win....jk. I took my mom to both movies and we both loved each movie.

  • I really like this song, it makes me think of skeletons dancing.

  • No Country for Old Men was a great film as well, and honestly, I think they are both similar to each other, and it's hard to pick a favorite, but I think this movie wins it for Day-Lewis' incredible acting. NCFOM had a better "plot" as it were, but TWBB wasn't really about the plot; it was about Daniel Plainview, who I think is one of the best written and performed characters in film.

  • soothing phychesphrenia

  • Jesus Horatio Christ, people!

"No Country For Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood" are fairly different types of films, with similar tones, similar filming locations and they came out the same year. That being the case, there's no point getting into arguments over it

The only thing they really strongly have in common is: they're equally great and both amongst the best of their decade, if not THE best of their decade.

  • @CaptainKrauser So true, 2008 was a fucking good year.

  • @CaptainKrauser Both about dark men who will stop at nothing to achieve their goals in a desolate landscape.

  • THIS IS AWESOME!! And d'you say to me No country for old men is better than There will be blood?? How... Fuck the Oscar's!!

  • @0981462 Why compare the two? They're both great movies in their own rights and I'm glad to have experienced both great movies instead of the shit we have today (Transformers 2, Speedracer), both movies were great, why compare?

  • Comment removed

  • I've heard people say they couldn't stand this movie because of Jonny's soundtrack, and it always stuns me. To me, the songs perfectly mirror the scenes in which they're placed.

  • Is H.W. okay?

    No he isn't.

  • @0180917 Are you taking Henry with you to meet Union Oil?

  • @CMink7777 Were you hit in the head? WERE YOU HIT IN THE HEAD? Tell me, tell me if you were.

    ...I can't hear my voice.

  • @0180917 Lights out! Lights out! Put that fire out!

  • @CMink7777 What're you looking so miserable about? There's a whole ocean of oil under our feet! No one can get at it except for me.

  • @0180917 And then the well can't produce and BLOW gold all over the place! Joe Gundha was a man of considerable faith, so if you wish to say a few words, his burial is tomorrow.

  • @CMink7777 What's this? Why don't I own this? WHY DON'T I OWN THIS?

  • @0180917 You're the oil man arent you? Thats right. We don't want you drilling out here....Well I don't want that EEIITTHHEERR. He's gone now what do you want? I believe I'll talk to him about that! When will he be back?...couple of weeks. You tell him I'd like to talk to Him! Not about drilling!!!

  • @CMink7777 One night I'm going to come to you inside of your home wherever you sleep and I'm going to cut your throat. -What? What are you talking about, have you gone insane? -Don't tell me about my family. -I'm not telling you anything! I'm trying to be reasonable! If I've offended you I apologize! -I'll see what I can do.

  • @0180917 Whos there? It's me Henry, your brother from another mother. Who are you? Mary Branch, is that your mother? Our father Earnest is dead. You came all the way from Wisconsin to tell me this...just show up! I was in New Mexico. I was just passing through. Do you have identification!!?

  • @CMink7777 You can have anything you like now, Daniel, and you should. Where are you gonna build it? Here, maybe. Near the ocean. Would you make it look like that house? I'm sure if I saw that house now it'd make me sick. We could eat, and get some women. Take them to the peach tree dance. I say get liquored up, and take them to the peach tree dance! Yeah.

  • @0180917 (Obnoxious Whore laughing in background) Daniel. Daniel. Can I have some money?

    (Daniel looking annoyed)

  • @CMink7777 He wanted to make his way to you, Daniel, but he didn't have any money. He died of tuberculosis. He wasn't harmed, wasn't killed, nothing bad, but he told me about you. I just took his story, used his diary...Daniel...I'm your friend. I'm not trying to hurt you, just survive--AAGGHGHA-NO! *Daniel shoots him in the side of the head*

  • @0180917 I think I'm all out of ammo on the movie...lol. It was a great movie though. They should make more movies this interesting. I just don't think most peoples minds have the patience for the depth of the character study and story. They would rather just see movies full of mainstream everyday simplicity and shallow humor which proves the personality types of most people.

  • @CMink7777 A lot of people I talk to say they find this film boring and simple. They say the entire movie was basically about the classic struggle between good and evil, and nothing more. I can't believe that.

And I have one last quote: I...DRINK...YOUR...MILKSHAKE! I DRINK IT UP!

  • @0180917 Plainview...funny to see you here! Funny isn't it? What are you doing here? Oohh just passin through. You heard Standards been buying up..? Mostly in the north! Find anything? I found some interesting prospects. Look Gene if your going to make a play, go east. This lot around here has been taken! That must be easy with such a cute face to carry around. Are you telling me how handsome my son is? Well, that I am. Like I said, go east. I'd rather it be you than someone else!

  • @CMink7777 Paul Sunday turned out to be a good friend of ours! You get here just a soon as you can. Bring Fred English!

  • @CMink7777 Stop crying you sniveling ass, stop your nonsense! You're just the afterbirth, Eli. No. You slithered out of your mother's filth. No. They should have put you in a glass jar on the mantelpiece. Where were you when Paul was suckling at his mother's teat? Who was nursing you poor Eli, one of Bandy's sows? That land has been had. Nothing you can do about it, it's had, it's gone, you lose. If you would just take this lease Daniel-DRAINAGE! DRAINAGE Eli, you boy, drained dry, I'm so sorry.

  • @0180917 Yes Real Estate!?......

I just bought the Sunday Ranch....

Can everything around here be got?

  • @CMink7777 You look like a fool, don'y you Tilford? Yes. YES. Yes you do.

  • @0180917 We'll be out of your way were just hunting for quail! No no no we set ourselves on this camping trip. He have to do the camping.

  • @CMink7777 I will bless the well. Before you begin, you should introduce me. You'll see me walk up towards the oil well, and--The derrick You'll see me walk up, and then you could say my name. When you walk up? Yes. You'll see me walk up, and then you could say "The proud son of these hills, who tended his father's flock", and then you could say my name. That's fine. And what happens then? Well, then we start the drill. It's a simple blessing, Daniel, but an important one.

  • @0180917 Miss Mary Sunday, the proud daughter of these hills...................

  • @CMink7777 Clean him up. Put some clothes on him...AND...set up a tent. Anyone goes down into the cellar, you tell somebody. Yes? Yes. Shut down till midday.

  • @0180917 Call Bob Brody San Fransisco.

  • @CMink7777 When do we get our money, Daniel? Aren't you a healer? And a vessel for the holy spirit? When are you coming around to make my son hear again? Can't you do that? Daniel if you'd let me bless the well this never would have happened! You shouldn't have done that. YOU OWE THE CHURCH OF THE THIRD REVELATION FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS!

  • @0180917 You splash around in here. hhhhoooo! Thats it! Thats it!

  • @CMink7777 You are a stupid man, Abel. You let someone come in here and walk all over us. You let him in...and do his work here, and you are a stupid man for what we could have had.

  • @0180917 I don't botch the cementing off in the hole and ruin the whole lease.

  • @CMink7777 I wouldn't take the lease if you gave it to me as a gift!

  • @0180917 I've met a lot of people that are literally 'bothered' by Plainview as a character. It's as though they can't appreciate the story without taking it personally. Women especially can't stand it. They are the people that take everything as it appears externally. To them Plainview is super greedy but Tilford is a good guy just because he was friendly on the surface. Ironically, Eli and Standards greed was as dark as Plainviews. Plainview was alone battling oil tycoons/w no one his side.

  • @CMink7777 I think Daniel Plainview may be the most complex film character ever. We probably have Mr. Day-Lewis to thank for that, who never got out of character while on the set of TWBB, even when they weren't shooting.

  • this is a weird song its so weird it sounds good!

  • There's a whole ocean of oil under our feet!

  • @xhyio 2nd best line in the movie

  • does anyone know where I can find this song? it's not on the soundtrack

  • This is my son H dubya

  • there will be blood and no country for old men are two totally different movies. they have two very different moral backbones and comparing them would be like comparing apples to oranges. a complete waste of time!

  • @DavidMiramontes1

Exactly! Not to mention that No Country is completely devoid of music, while the music in there will be blood is integral in creating the atmosphere that it does.

  • @DavidMiramontes1 I don'y know about you , but i liked them both ( both movies and apples and oranges )

  • @DavidMiramontes1 i dissagree, because movies are always compared to other movies, now comparing either of those to say a song would be like apples and oranges, this is like comparing spiderman and the dark knight, it can be done.

  • @quartersandnickles well maybe. i guess i just mean when you try to make one seem better than the other one. not all movies are trying to say or do the same thing. some people just need to take a break and enjoy it. thanks for the input, man! :)

  • @DavidMiramontes1 now i agree, not all movies are trying to say or do the same thing (in this case there will be blood and no country for old men, which they aren't)

  • No Country for Old Men and There WIll Be Blood are both amazingly well-done films, in my opinion.

However, I do lean more towards Mr. Planview's circus of rage than the assasin's trail of carnage.

  • Lights Out! Lights Out!

  • help me ..

  • :21 didnt know they had trucks back in the early 20th century

  • @nboley08

they had trucks in the 20th century? well i'll be damned.

  • @LotusHacker She-it, they had trucks in the 19th century.

  • @Roamer117

you should've seen the comment i was replying to.

  • @nboley08 haha, that's prolly a production photo dude xD

  • @nboley08 someone doesn't know their history

  • @iceguy0077 it was a joke people..and yes because there were ford f-150s in the 1910's =p

  • The reason I love this song so much is because the scene it plays over is when Daniel just 'snaps' and the audience realize his greed outweighs his compassion for HW. No other song has captured a moment in film so perfectly

  • Does anybody know where I can find the version used in TWBB?

  • Certainly not on YouTube, and couldn't find it on the soundtrack listing. Must be extracted from the movie somewhere...

  • @SBV123 the version in the film was this layered over the title track

  • @MuleXC09 ahhhhhhhh that makes sense

  • It's the same.

  • No, as MuleXC09 said it's layered with another track in the movie.

  • Oh, stupid youtube comment system, I didn't see MuleXC09's comment. But in the movie it's layered over "There Will Be Blood" from the soundtrack, track 6, I think. Or at least some of it.

  • is this in the soundtrack?

  • this and no country are nothing alike. stop comparing them

  • They are alike in that they were released in the same year and they're both excellent.

  • The scene this song plays over is EPIC. This totally confused beat is playing as Daniel is frantically yelling for them to stop drilling and get the hell out, while Fletcher is trying to get H.W. out. Then, Daniel just sits there, smug as a madman, knowing no one else can get to the pockets below except him.

  • i dont get how people thought No Country For Old Men was better than this. I just dont see it myself i thought it was boreing and lacklusture compared to There Will Be Blood.

  • VERY much agreed.

  • Replace There will be blood with No Country for Old Man and vice versa, and you'll understand why they thought that way.

  • @83BM

I thought they were both pretty damn good. I think I like this movie slightly better

  • both were genius, i could take either

  • tho half way thru this song i nearly wanna retract my statement...

  • @WarPigGeorge13 and I want to retract my anus

  • @83BM If you understand the Coen Brothers then you understand No Country For Old Men. Both movies are epic though. I wouldn't pick a favorite from the two.

  • @83BM It was the easier option. People like the easiest option available. It was a very good film mind you, but There Will Be Blood was something different: a strange, pulsating classic that will only grow in stature and reputation. It's life has only begun...

  • @83BM I love the Coen Bros. and "No Country", but "There Will Be Blood" was the better movie.

  • @83BM you spelled both those words wrong.

  • @thebull284 you lost the internetz if u tink spolling conts

  • @83BM As long as Lewis got the Oscar :))

  • @83BM well that's just, like your opinion man...

  • @rezagraz yeah, i just feel that Ethan and Joel try to push the boat out to much and the films tend to drag on, with nothing much going on in them. I didn't mind Bardem init he was good. I think There Will Be Blood is a masterpiece solid directing, Superior acting by Day Lewis and a unique score by Greenwood.

  • Does anyone know why the title of the movie is what it is? It is in reference to the wars fought for oil or is it because there is actual blood in the last scene of the movie?

  • Comment removed

  • it's to do with the struggle between plainview and eli

  • Greatest Movie ever behind No Country For Old Men. Daniel-Day Lewis, one word folks; brilliant.

  • you rock. just want you to know that... thats my EXACT same opinion with this movie and no country for old men. two of the greatest films ever made.

  • that pretty much sums up what you know about this movie

just because something takes place in a desert location (in this case, california) ..doesn't make it a western lol

at LEAST read up on the movie before making a completely uninformed comment..you're just making yourself look dumb without any need

  • Haha, you think this is a western.

  • @ChemicalNovaFilms it is set in 'socal' otherwise known as 'the west' - technically making this a 'western' :)

  • Did Jonny Greenwood conduct this? I can't seem to find this on the soundtrack listing...

  • This song is not in the TWBB soundtrack, its from the "Bodysong" album

  • Why is this not on the soundtrack?

  • Thankyou so much for the music to this movie!!

    This particular one is stunning!

  • So fucking awesome.

  • This is the best song!

  • Awesome!

  • Can you give any examples? Not saying your wrong but I'd like some examples of stolen music.

  • Thank You For Replying; As I've given, plus consider that the tunes, and composer can be excused from being charged with plagiarism if sub-titled as a tribute to the original artist(s).

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • Didn't he sample from other musicans, nothing wrong with that, its the musical equivalent of using found materials in art.

  • Thank You For Replying; In the recent expensive plagiarism lawsuits, it depends who(m) wrote the lyrics, and/or the music; plus recent legal actions now favour the original artist(s)/owner(s), as several of the so-called 'Rap/Hip-Hop samplers' have discovered, and these 'discoveries' include the loss of their property to cover the legal expenses, and other such losses from plagiarism law-suits, e.g., if you didn't write the music/lyrics/book, don't claim you did.

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • Yeah I know what plagiarism is and as far as i'm aware he got pemission to use those tracks. And I don't see how him using two samples in different tracks is a bad thing or makes him any less talented or his work less impressive. Useing samples of other peoples work is a vaild art form and in no way diminishes said work, as long as you do it well.

  • Thank You For Replying; 'Greenwood' didn't 'sample', 'Greenwood' plagiarized Harry Partch's music, and did so without permission, either financially, written, or verbally, if you were Harry Parch, or any other artist, and your ability to pay your bills, and live a descent life, depended on your art-work, you would have a less generous opinion of 'Greenwood', and any other plagiarist.

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • I haven't heard of anything being taken to court in regards to plagiarism, besides i've heard nothing about him using Harry Partch's muisc in samples, he used samples of Arvo Pärt and Johannes Brahms work.

  • Thank You For Replying; If you were the artist being plagiarized, would you be as patient?

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • i don't think anyone is being plagiaized in the first place

  • Thank You For Replying; 'Greenwood' plagiarized his music from Harry Partch, and, again, 'Greenwood' didn't brother to acknowledge his artistic inspiration from Harry Partch, which is, in essence, another form of censorship, just as deadly to creativity, and originality as the 'Degenerate Art Shows', and other forms of censorship imposed on artists by the socially acceptable religions.

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • Being inspired by someone doesn't mean plagiarizism, your really clutching at straws now. To compare such a unimportant thing with something like entartete Kunst period of art in nazi germany is just stupid. And if your going to criticize anyone about the way they structure their comment then please refrain from "randomly" emphasizing "certain" words with "quotation marks". It makes you seem pretentious as does the whole "Thank You For Replying" and signing your comment like a letter

  • whatever its just like how he sampled idioteque its nbd. even if he stole it no one would notice except for you

and dont be like "thank you for replying" and "cheers" or "cheerio" thats just annoying. i bet you have an accent and you drink tea lmao

  • Thank You For Replying; Real writers use real words; e.g., The use of 'letters/initials', 'inside-out words', and 'implied meaning symbols' as a form of language is, in actuality, another form of passive/aggressive censorship, again, the writer isn't expressing their thoughts fully, while placing the blame for misinterpretation on the reader, and, again, Real writers use real words.

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • i dont use real words because i have a life and i text people and you dont need to be a real writter for that

maybe if you had more friends and u txted you would learn 2 use not real words are u wouldnt be getting all gay and british on me for my form of grammar

and stop saying cheers! thats retarded. use modern language like everyone else is doing

  • Thank You For Replying; Being a real writer, using real words is anti-censorship, so-called 'modern language' is another form of insulating the self from their own thoughts which generate from their emotions, which, again, form the actual basis of originality; just check-out H. P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, and Oscar Wilde.

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • this isnt real writting its friggen youtube. if you wanna be a real wrighter then go ahead but if you have friends you get used to a shorter sweeter notation

  • Thank You For Replying; 'YouTube' is a very real forum for the artistic written/ visual expression, limited only by the those who(m) underestimate their written/visual expression. If you consider 'YouTube' unimportant, therefore you tell the world your opinion of yourself, in the fight against censorship, treat the 'YouTube' experience with the full worded respect it deserves, e.g., the world is watching, and learning from you.

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • screw the respect for youtube. no one judges talents of writting therefore i should be able to express myself how ever i want without "bloaks" like u being all butt hurt about it

  • Thank You For Replying; Your attitude is very 'Entartete Kunst'; 'Better by you, better than me'.

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • Im not taling about my attitude, I'm talking about how you think you can judge me because you are wish we all talked all formal like you

wtf is Entartete? you think ur all badass because you can use fancy ass words

  • Thank You For Replying; The using of unintelligible words, phrases, also the habit of 'mashing', and 'slurring' words together, is a defense mechanism employed by the socially acceptable religions to blame the receiver of the message for their 'lack-of-understanding'; it's also the verbal/written form of so-called 'sampling', and 'sampling' makes language, art, and music un-original, and dull.

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • samles actually is like recycling old music to make new music and its even better when its a song that no one know like this

stop convincing me to use fancy little words like you that is retarded no one does it and just because you do does not make you cool even though you think you are. Its not about some stupid religion acceptance its about doing things fast and getting on with your life instead of trying to use a fancy vocabulary to impress people on youtube

  • Thank You For Replying; You have exactly the same access to on-line dictionaries, and encyclopedia, therefore you don't have any excuse to not know/expand your knowledge. 'Samples' are plagiarized from original music, e.g., what if 'Beethoven', 'Mozart', 'Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osborne', 'Harry Partch', 'Mountain', or 'Deep Purple' used 'samples', and didn't record/perform original music, where would that leave pop-music?

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • samples are cool once in a while and if they did a couple songs sampled but made the rest normal music will still be where they were today. its especially good when they hunt for samples like johnny did with idioteque

i dont want to expand my knowledge in that way and if i do im not gonna show it of on youtube, i read alot of books and i express knowledge to teachers not youtube, and im not the only one, look around u man

  • Thank You For replying; Being a original means not 'sampling', and it means not giving away material to 'teachers', e.g., don't be a charlatan waiting to capitalize from others.

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • Don't even bother with him PhantomWarlock, 127wolf is clearly a moron, just look at his profile page

  • I thought entartete kunst would be something you would like 12Zwolf, seeing as you clearly want to emulate the people who propagated it.

  • Thank You For Replying; I endiorse original art-work, an attitude that's very anti-Entartete Kunst.

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • see these people agree with me and im sure many more will.

u are an idiot go spread ur smart ideas of life with someone else besides yotube

  • Thank You For Replying; Soon, enough, time will tell, about the circus, and the wishing-well.

    Cheers!

    Valkyrie Ziege Mourne

  • You obviously don't know what "censorship" means...
