These games are spin offs, like Chain of memories. I'm pretty sure we can expect a return of Sora and his gang in KH3 one day.

this storyline is almost too much for me, already. like, seriously, i don't think i'd LIKE to see the end of kingdom hearts, but come on, how much more can they do? i LIKE feeling like, 'oh, i FINALLY get what happened!' and then they bring in stuff like this and i'm all like 'DAMMIT!' XD lolz.

KH2 already had an ending. The new games just expand on the story by giving us prequels and side stories.
